  • Terrible! They are playing on modern instruments! The bows are modern, also the violins. And the soloist (Bach?) is playing on a spinet! In a concerto they used to play on a harpsichord with two keyboards. A spinet was intended to be used in a living room. The English make such films much better!

  • I thought that the BWV1060 was a concerto for violin and oboe. Where's the oboe?

  • just a question : where is the 2nd harpsichord when he plays the concerto????

  • И всё же.. Бах.. Должно озвцчивать... на Его.. Родном.. Языке!

  • I've found it it's BWV 1060

  • I'm looking for this piece of music but i don't know the name

  • @vivaldiv Concerto for 2 harpsichords in Cm, BWV 1060-Allegro

  • Great commentary.

  • @WojtekGostyn I know what is it. This is Toccata D minor BWV 913

  • Which composition is played when his wife kissing him by the mirronr after the concert? I think about last seconds of this part 8:18

  • @redbrian3655 and @GeraldBoyClassical. You're welcome. I love Bach's compositions and so I'm sure glad I was able to do it.

  • The scene opens with Bach's wife being consoled by her sister. Bach is in jail. He continues to compose on the walls of his jail. The duke enters and chides him for wanting to leave Weimar and tells him he is fired. Bach thanks him, citing his need for better prospects, wife's distress and the duke's unfairness in bypassing his right to be chapelmaster at Weimar. At Weimar Barbara Bach gives birth to 6 children out of which three die at birth

  • @angelialvares Thank you so much for giving such wonderful synopses.

  • @angelialvares Thankyou very much Angeli for the translations.

  • At Cothen, as Chapelmaster Bach composed most of his instrumental work, concertos for trumpet, violin pieces etc. The court at Cothen looked down on Bach except Prince Leopold, who being an accomplished musician himself, admired Bach's talent unconditionally and put together a large orchestra for him which travelled with the Prince to perform at different places. After this concert Barbara remarks that some of the royalty are missing at the program.
