Great, Cody! I had the sense, looking at this video and the ones with Arty, that you were a little out of cardio shape, so it would be a good idea to ramp up training a bit there. Sometimes your defense can be weak because your arms are just too tired to hold up. I think you need to keep 'em up, to move your head and shoulders a lot more, and to circle around more with your feet - and not stand flat-footed. But you're looking good, and you nail Fick with some good straight jabs! Brian
@briandnd Yea my cardio is starting to come along again. I started some training last week, and did some more sparring yesterday just with my roomate. I've been working on my footwork alot too, trying to stay more on my toes than flat footed. I'll be working on lots of head movement, footwork, and defense drills this week hopefully. Its hard at the time to get alot of training doen due to school and alot of major projects. I'll keep ya posted though!
Hey, Cody, You look better against Fick than against Arty! But you do need, I think, to keep your hands up on your face, and especially to protect your face when you're throwing a jab to the body. I try to get my boxers to move their right across to the left a bit when they're throwing a left to the body - otherwise you're likely to get creamed when you go down low and expose your face. Good work here - though I'd still like to see you work just on boxing! Brian D.
@briandnd Hey Brian, thanks for that tip because it was a huge hole in my game, I keep picking up new things. I went over it shadow boxing today and will continue to work on my defence. I've been working on my cardio again because I was way out of shape here. So that should be a big improvement. My plans are still to stick with boxing, but most of the training partners I have do MMA so I work with what I have. I post some new video's as soon as I can, keep in touch!
