@stuprint182 the links in the description are automatic download links, not links to the website. As soon as you click the link i provided, your download should have already started and interfacelift wouldn't have shown on your webpage. But if the website is not working at all... then there must be something wrong with either their website or your computer.

@WendysCashier everything in the video works on lion except the dock icons (including Finder, Dashboard, Trash)... individual applications still work fine in Lion. i have it and its working for me. Folders also change nicely... just make sure that you log out or restart if you have to in order for the changes to take effect.

Handy trick, at 4:00, if you just double-click on the image in preview, it'll automatically create a border around the image, and then you can just hit 'copy.'

1 more thing mate, my skype window keeps changing back to its original after a while.. like in the dock, its the original skype icon, however at the same time, under applications, skype is under the new icon?

@meeraj722 skype is different... for skype, you have to go the package contents of the application by right clicking on the skype app. once your in the contents folder of skype, go to resources then replace the file called "SkypeBlue". make sure that the icon that you replace it with is in ".icns" file.

@meeraj722 the Skype doesn't work? that worked for me... just make sure that when you put the new icon in the folder, it must be the same type of file (.icns). and it must be named the same thing (SkypeBlue). so that when you put it in the folder, it replaces the older one with the one you just made.

hey man.. thanks for the video, great help.. but im mac os 10.6.5, and wen i tried to change the icon for the applications, it changes all over the finder and stuff but on the dock it shows a silly address book or something :s... and thats really annoying.. any help wit how to get rid of that?? please..

you can... but you would need to convert it to a png and edit it so that there is no white blackground..

@Jamieesler93 You will need some kind of unarchiver to open some of the icon folders. like .sit files... the link in the description...

so i did all of this, but i used a different icon for finder and i applied the changes and my icon is gone now! :s it was a .icns file. what went wrong?

Is there a way to change my HD icon without using this lite icon, I have been unsuccessful at dragging and dropping icns or png formatted photos over my HDD. It just shows the preview image with the file extenson.

@malakov5 the reason why it shows the file icon is because its a .PNG. so what you have to do is open the .PNG up in preview. then, save it as an .ICNS file. once its saved, then you can drag it into lite icon. then it should work. if that doesn't work, il give you a different way of doing it... (btw, watch part 2, it will help alot... and i give the alternate way of changing icons in that tutorial).

Yeah, I did save it as an icns file and it does the same, but it does the same. the icons that seem to work are of type 'document' which cant be opened by anything. The thing is this: I dont want to use a program to do this. I used candy bar and it failed to work with both the png and icns so I dont know. However I will watch part two. Thanks man.

When I try to switch my Finder icon, the image looks very pixelated. I tried different things to make look normal, but it doesn't work. What can I do? Should I just resize the image? Also I tried to do what explained by saving the image file as .ICNS, but then when I try to switch finder, it just shows the file preview file and shows .ICNS. What else can I do??

in liteicon: Go to "File/Restore all icons...". then relaunch finder and log out if needed.

in the get info section ("CMD+i" in safari) just highlight the icon on the top left corner, then push CMD+x (cut)...
