@easy530 That's the title of the song. And if Hoggard (or you) would actually read the lyrics, you would clearly see that Mick Jagger is acknowledging the existence of Satan (something most non-believers wont do) and declaring his evil nature. This is an extraordinary thing considering most secular rock music is about depraved sex, and so forth. What really frost's me is Hoggard's attempt to demonize it based solely on its rhythm, and then cast aspersions on Christian Music.
P.S. The Rolling Stone's "Sympathy for the Devil" is about two things: 1) the Devil Exists and 2) He's evil. Not a bad message coming from a secular rock group.
You condemn a Hatian drum ritual as satanic (and you were probably right), and then talk about how you took all the albums of the music you considered satanic, and burned it in a ritual fire, presumably gathering in a circle to watch the albums burn. If we are supposed to reject the ways of the heathen, why do you use their rituals? BY the end of this segment, you are openly casting aspersions on African heritage. Racism isn't going to help your message.

I can quote to anyone who wants to know the name(s) that both he and his "wives" called me in this very office. It's crazy that they called me all these horrible things while I was at their church school and then proceeded to tell me to "be careful what I go home and tell my mother." HOW CHRISTIAN!
I am closer to God than I have EVER been, and I do believe there is a reason why this shepard is not able to properly care for his sheep. My family once asked WHAT we can listen to anymore, and he responded with "nothing really, southern gospel isn't pure anymore." Seriously, don't listen to music?! @Gmotivated You are missing the point by a long shot. First, he did not come up with the fact that the roots of rock/rap can be traced back to Africans, an expert in Music has. Secondly the point isn't that they were African.. the point is they used these rythms in Voodoo and worship of Luficer with the purpose of becoming possessed by a demon. Their ethnicity is irrelevant, he is simply stating the facts for a better understanding.
@FrankietheMute I totally don't think I did missed it some of the stuff was information but what about the illuminati and their bloodlines and the stuff they do?
The ministers who complained about rock and roll in the 1950's also were racist as the day is long... calling rock and roll "n****r music" Might want to be careful...

I have seen Benny Hinn and many false profits use traditional music to lead there demonic services. Yes, NO drums! And the music captivates people
I agree with him, but what about metal that focuses more on the harmony and melody than the actual beat? Like symphonic metal for instance...It's filled with more horns and pianos I believe than drums mimicking african tribe rituals...
This guy is the Christian version of Michael Moore. I can't believe there are some parts of the world where people still believe that rock music is evil in and of itself.

The BLUES is no different than COUNTRY music in it's contents and both are satanic, the slaves weren't even allowed to practice any of their religious practices when they were brought to this country, DO MORE RESEARCH, the people that were held captive on those slave ships were not AFRICANS, the voodoo practices that came out of certain african countries were not practiced by those slaves, it may have been introduced to them from some other source but it wasn't their culture.
@The777Apostle I agree with you on some country music also being satanic: he should have added country music in part of his analysis so people don't pin him out as a racist (like so many people like to do nowadays whenever people speak against black people). It is an interesting fact, that out of all the genres of secular music--that country music is the most depressing. Why is that? I believe there is something to be said for that!

Blacks have given us a rich heritage of negro spirituals. All races produce both good and bad and black races are no different.
Once again, we can't talk objectively about an issue without someone crying, "racism!"
Do you also condemn African Gospel music? If so, I challenge you to go to the Brooklyn Tabernacle and listen to their choir and tell me what is wrong with that music. Hopefully you wont be offended by all the black people around.
Second attempt: Edentulae, I've just listened to some BTC You Tubes.
While I believe that worship music in Church should be just that - worship and not entertainment, I heard nothing that could be likened to a voodoo beat.
You are creating a straw man.
Music and beat play a major part in creating altered states of consciousness. Thats why it is so strong in voodoo. The Emergent Church is also flirting with altered states.
Race, per se, has nothing to do with the discussion.
It is easy to build up arguments to tear others down. We can always tear others down and try for something better. The disciples did this when perfume was poured on Jesus feet. Some music is obviously better then others to me. What makes your opinion right? SOunds like classic conspiracy nut logic. What do you have to say about the fact that many hymns where from the tunes of bar and secular songs? What rythems and beats and tempos in music do you approve? Musically, I want to see the formula.
Edentulate: Yes, its easy but we must look and assess the arguments on their merit, not on emotion.
It doesn't come down to opinion, but fact. It is undeniable that different beats have different effects on the listener. Some are inherently relaxing, but some music produces aggression. Some creates stress and some has a savage sexual beat and has featured in pagan worship along with the most disgusting perversions.
None of the "bar tunes" you mention being put to hymns carry such beats.
Logic has a place, but sound logic must also agree with sound scripture. I dont see this argument against certain tempos as biblical. Id still like to see what the specific beats are...id like to see them defined in musical terms so that this discussion isnt simply a matter of "this sounds bad to me" where one man is vaunting his opinion and rationalizing it with like minded people. I can make a logical argument for virtually any perspective. Where is the bible?
Square in which heart r u an idiot.. majority of black people dont like rock music thats if u dont realise. this man should study the history of rock music before he goes blaming black people for everything bad...
to "rock n roll" means to fornicate. came from the blacks meaning to get it on in a car. cleveland dj alan free coined the term. does God honor fornicating musick? me thinks not
beautifullytragic19: you raise a good point: the strong sexual beat of much rock music. This was used to promote sexual perversion in much pagan worship which is condemned by scripture. Do you suppose that in christian worship it will, instead produce Godly thinking and worship "in spirit and in truth" rather than arousing sexual feelings and distracting from worship?
I`m not saying at all that it is a good thing to listen to sexually stimulating music, and we don`t want that sort of music in church at all. I don`t know how much actual "rock" music you listen to. Pop and rap tends to have more sexual beats, not rock. I`m a 19 yr old christian virgin, but I`m not an idiot. I just thought it was funny that you condemned serpentine undulations. I just wonder if you and your wife ever did anything besides hold hands.
i have been listening to this man talk about african music until this very minute he as not shown the relationship between african and rock. first black people dont bang head our music focus on the movement of the body mainly the hips. and other thing is why is this man not talking about how gospel as a R&B beato it. listen and a rnb or a slow jams song and them listen to a gospel song and see if the beats r not the same? so why not complain about dat.
why is this man picking black people alone. Europeans practiced witchcraft too and i know that they used music in it too why not look on that side. anybody else feel racism. oh and enslaved africans did not only come from haiti but also barbados and other caribbean island.
It's like i said from video 1. The only reason this hate of rock and roll is even present is because at one point people hated black people so much they didn't want them to have anything to do with their kids. Lucky for me, I never hated black people or their music. Unlike this man.
I'm saying that people have interpreted the word of God for their own benefit. It's happened since the bible was acknowleged as the word of God and translated. People want things to be right so they make it impossible to disagree with them by claiming that God said it was okay.
After listening to these videos I feel racism coming from this man he is anti African, anti hip hop, anti fun. How would he react to King david who wrote lots of hymns dancing naked in his throne room? look it up King solomon was Black. preach love and get the message out dont focus on condemnation and racism. meet people where they are and let God change them Africans were some of the most spiritual people alive and the root of gospel grow up dude!
Which Bible are you reading? David danced once after dis regarding his royal robes which is not the same- it is a pattern of Jesus leaving his majesty to come to earth. There were no drums in Hebrew worship and it never says he wrote Psalms dancing naked in his throne room - that would have been against God- dont assume - get the facts
this guy need Jesus because he is still trying to get justification from some law or something.

Have you ever had sex? And if so, how did you do it without serpentine undulations? just wondering. : )

beautifullytragic19: you raise a good point: the strong sexual beat of much rock music.

Unlike this man.

so you're saying he's judgemental?

I'm saying that people have interpreted the word of God for their own benefit. It's happened since the bible was acknowleged as the word of God and translated. People want things to be right so they make it impossible to disagree with them by claiming that God said it was okay.

I respect this man and his comments about rocks' beginnings of the 50's and 60's.
