The marines were excited at first and they wanted to kill, but as they progressed further into the mission they encounter political bureaucracies, corruption, confusion, etc. When they finally did get to kill someone they realized it was not as they had expected; as evident from the final somber scene, where they detest what they see on the video. Like i said, youre immature and you probably expected an action movie
