Wilkinson was a horrible pick though, have to look at the character of a player, not just the ability.
Ki-Jana Carter was also a good choice, he was said to be the next Walter Payton but that injury on his third carry of his career, can't blame anybody for that.
But Akili Smith was probaly the worst choice in draft history, not just for the bengals, of all time.

His first two seasons he started 8 - 8, and made the playoffs his third, for the first time in like 13 years for us. Dalton's already got us contending in one season. Palmer's in Oakland now, if you remember, starting on a 7 - 5 team like ours. Only, they're in a much weaker division.

I would like to say this about the Bengals in 1975 When Paul Brown retired from Coaching he should have promoted Bill Walsh to head coach but he didn't could you Imagine if you had Head Coach Walsh and Assistant Coach Weiss now you would have 4 or 5 Super Bowls back then between the late 1970's till probaly the early 1990's. It's really sad how unappreciative that Bengals fans are for what Marvin Lewis has done during his tenure with the Bengals. Bengals fans want to rip on him when in fact it all comes back to one person Mike Brown. I hope that Marvin isn't back next year and goes to another team to coach where he will enjoy more success and maybe even bring a Super Bowl Championship to a team like San Diego, Dallas, San Francisco, or even Carolina just to name a few.
