  • So . . . maybe I'm missing something. How, if both pins in the RAP relay have power all the time, is it turning off? The way I understand it, the door switch (mini wedge?) closes, allowing the ground path to close to the BCM. The BCM then closes ground to the RAP relay, which pulls the switch from the IGN hot pin to the other pin, which is also hot? Which part of that have I got wrong . . .

Thanks. Love the videos, by the way, Duane.

  • i have a radio that never can be shut off while the key is in the ignition, no matter how i rotate the power knob to all positions, it just refuses to die !! .

  • Excellent video, very clear and logical, with great step-by-step explanations!

  • Another Great Video !

Thank you for all your efforts !

  • another good video as always, very informative

  • @metalxesp Ditto. Thanks

  • Your The Man Again! My Isuzu had the same issue, wish this was out when i had that issue lol, would have saved me some diag time! Keep up the Great videos man! You should consider teachin @ a school, You know ur stuff!

  • What kind of scanner is that? Looked like a "Versus"? Is it a BCM specific scanner? Or is it just a scanner that is not as common, such as a Genisys or a Modis? How do you like it? Do you have any videos on it?

  • @woog74 Close that's a Snap on Verus he's been using it for some time. It's not only a scan tool it has a 4 channel lab scope too. Hes been using it for as long as I can remember.

  • Not only does this guy know what he is talking about, he as a gift to talk about it with others and teach em whats what.

Any more videos that do a walkthrough of electrical diagrams would be greeeatly appreciated. Thanks for making the vids

  • @smartestpersoniknow

Yes, I live in a cave. It's a nice cave. There's stalactites and everything.

  • Another great vid!

    I learned something.

  • Don't mind this guy he's spammed the comments with the same statement at least 3 times with his nonsense. He should get blocked.

  • To clarify my previous post before somebody yells at me, I don't mean computer diagnostic tools. I mean that cars since the late 80's have computers onboard to control everything. This really isn't needed.

  • I've been working on cars since I was a kid, and in my honest opinion, computers have no business in an automobile. They just add another layer and price tag to repair and maintenance that isn't needed.

  • You are really good Dywane .I want to see your mechanical skills on something a little more changeling like cadillac. These cars are electrical gremlins.

  • As always, I feel like I'm in an automotive class with your excellent videos. I am learning a lot for sure. How did you make that jumper cable with the needle? What size wire and needle did you use? That is a nice tool. I would like to make that and try out your video on my 2005 Tahoe

  • I checked the bulb is fine...the door sensor is sticky a little bit every time I push up on it.

  • once again dwayne , an excellent educational video !! being in the auto repair feield myself and not experiencing these problems YET , they can come in very handy if id do !! thanks again

  • What a ridiculous system to install into a vehicle for a courtesy might as well hard wire it to the battery !!

  • Good video from REALFIXESREALFAST. Perfect example of an unnecessary design for the convenience of having the damn radio on while the key is off. Well, I hope the owner finds this convenience worth the extra price of the vehicle and several hundred dollars for this fix.

I WAS HOPING TO SEE DUANE R& R THE DOOR SWITCH THOUGH. :(

  • My uncles truck has this. I dont understand what its for. Other than to make Duane more money. But I have a habit of turning the radio off before the ignition anyway. But I guess thats just gonna cause the radio power button to break sooner than the door switch. Than you'll just spend the money either way by putting in a new radio. How about when I turn off the ignition the car automatically puts up a sun shade for me instead.

  • I prefer te system where you got a push switch on the frame. Those are a lot easier to access and to fix/replace. This just seems positioned there so a dealer can charge you two hours of labor to take the panel on and of.

    Nice video.

  • damn..i thought i was gonna see Duane lay down some free style :/

  • Fords also have the door ajar switch integrated into the latch assembly. A common problem with them is the door ajar light will stay on when all doors are closed. Sometimes they will start working again if you spray WD-40 in the latch. It works best when you use a screwdriver to close the latch mechanism and spray down inside it (with a straw on the can of course). Thought I would share that. Keep up the great vids!

  • @MileyCyrus192 Is it a lie ? Or is the bulb burned out ? I bet you never checked did you!

  • @realfixesrealfast

Don't worry about that particular character. They seem to have had quite the massive dose of nose candy.

  • @MileyCyrus192 It's also a lie that you look more intelligent or get noticed by leaving the caps lock on all the time.

  • @MileyCyrus192 If you took the time to listen to the explanation in the video and the logic leading to the diagnosis, you wouldn't be asking such a question.
