I wonder why God allows so many various religions to continue. I am an atheist...no God, no Devil. I believe that if God were real then there would be one true religion and not hundreds based on different writings and scripture. Why would God allow His people to fight and kill each other for thousands of years over Him? If God exists, He is sensless, thoughtless, and cruel. A sadist.
No belief is healthier than fighting over who's God is the true God. Crazy.
Let Bryan speak Thom. You look angry and reactionary. Not the best way to get a real discussion...let alone an interview. We don't care to hear your opinion . we want to hear both sides
If I was in Fischer shoes, I would had set up arguments how Hartmann was setting up false equivalence arguments. But Fischer was either to stupid or had his agenda laid out to spew hatred against Muslims to engage in discussion. But you're a fundy tard, guess you aren't going to see that because you contradict yourself with : We don't care to hear your opinion . we want to hear both sides
Bryan Fischer is giving the wrong message about Islam, and it is apparent that he does not know his Bible very well either. He needs to look at that verse from the Quran in regards to what was happening at the time it was given. Christians get so upset when Muslims or others take their scriptures out of context, yet they are guilty of the same thing. I also think that he needs to check himself and see if his version of Christianity actually lines up with the Bible. Completely asssinign!
Religion's been the excuse for some of the worst atrocities in history. As as Christians would say the Ku Klux Klan and anti-abortion terrorists do not represent what Jesus was about, I'm sure the Fort Hood shooter does not reflect real Muslims.
Extremism in regard to any view in life, is ultimately destructive, and religion has a way of becoming the most dangerous form of extremism due to many factors, but mainly it's requirement of faith. Religion, in it's meaning, almost exclusively requires a blind belief in a set doctrine and viewpoint. And, in that sense, anything can be a religion. In fact, all extremism, is religion, whether your god be Jesus, animal rights, or gun laws. Essentially, it is the avoidance of critical thought.
Christianity/Catholocism has had the Enlightenment, which de-fanged the religions of the west. Yes there are handfuls of psychos who are bible literalists, but they are held in check by a secular society which is now part of the religion.
Islam has not yet had their own Enlightenment, but it looks like they will have one soon-ish. They are still living with bronze age thinking and do not integrate with western society well at all.
I never said the religions were enlightened. The culture is what had the enlightenment which forced the religions to go along with them kicking and screaming.
I think the vast majority of muslims are good and peaceful people. But I also think they live in a culture that is much less developed than the west in terms of free thought. They lack an event like the western enlightenment, which for us helped to separate the church from the state (mostly) as well as make things like atheism acceptable
For some reason I could only see your original statement, your right that faith be kept out of Govt & most muslim countries do, even Saudi Arabia with its wahabi theocracy is actually King first then God, with the king over ruling God when it suits his wishes.
The law of the Quran is only for the common people, those in power routinely abuse the law, eg Prince Bandar was paid almost $1 Billion in bribes by BAE systems attempts by the British to investigate where hushed to appease Saudi govt..
And please don't get me wrong, I have nothing against arabic people(s). They are people just like everybody else. They want to live a long, peaceful life with family and friends.
I WANT the arabic nations to have their enlightenment! Right now those nations use our western technology; cell phones, computers etc. I want to see what they will make! What ideas they have will!
But until they finally come to the conclusions of an enlightenment, i don't think we will see them.
You can't teach stupid like that.

"As for my enemies who do not want me to reign over them, bring them here and kill them in my presence" (Luke 19:26-27).

ALL religions should be kept separate from "the state".
The military is run by the state and ALL religion should be kept out of it.
We saw this with the Iraq War and Rumsfeld putting biblical quotes on his briefings to Bush.
It is the silent and apathetic majority which allow these nut bags to continue doing what they do.
Rantandreason 2 years ago 4
Christianity & Catholocism are not "enlightened", they still violent and hateful, the west has defanged all faith from their lives.
Most Muslims are as carefree in their worldy pursuits as any non-muslim you only have to venture into a Mall in the mid east to see.
The West must start demanding reform in exchange of trade with muslim nations, ban arms sales to non-democratic nations.
