  • Im a biggener and i feel this is still wrong..

  • Just saying... shouldn't this be titled "how to shoot a model with 6 $7 clamp lamps"?

  • Comment removed

  • what a creepy looking beginning...

  • white balance is always off?

  • A wireless mic would make your video a lot better. Good luck.

  • product photography ...you rule ....model photography .....you do not

  • Good work. I especially liked how you gave orders to the model in a friendly yet professional manner. Do ignore the nasty comments. They're not photographers. :)

  • This is definitely a ghetto setup, but it will work, but just to get by. Honestly tho, if you are going to shoot a "model" presumably "hired", I don't think anyone would bring her into this ghetto setup, unless you pay her with peanuts. Another con is that, with those bulbs (nowadays spose u can get cooler lights with lower wattage), the room would be hot as heck in a very short time.

  • @djshadowpain Honestly dude you dont know shit. Models would go if it was for money or not. some models go to build there portfolios. and you dont even know what ghetto is.

  • this videos seems to be from 80's cm'on this sucks!

  • @cavalars from 80s, 90s or 2000's, lighting techniques do not change all that much, just that which style is more popular. The sun still comes up in the morning and sets in the evening.

  • What kind of light stand are you using ? Do you have any recommendation for a good cheap lightstand ?

  • @AzureDD I use manfrotto stands , they are on expensive side but last long time and take abuse well.

  • @AzureDD this set up wont call for manfrottos. Might as well just ebay some china made ones will do. Even cheaper, just use a broomstick, some cement and a used paint bucket. Those are clamp lights, commonly found in hardware store used for garage workshops and (other purposes). So essentially the light stand you need is just a stick for the clamps to cling on to, and that it can be moved around.

  • @AzureDD

    can you read>?

  • please mention lens measurement

  • that girl follows good direction. some people just dont get what your telling them when taking a picture.

  • 5:01 the shoulder looks blown out.

  • @conrad2001 I noticed that the back of her left arm was over-exposed also. At least in my opinion. If you were using these methods, and you shot that picture, and didn't like that over-exposure, simply move that particular light further away from the model. That's the beauty of controlling your lighting. It's just a personal thing, but I see most professional portraits as being over-exposed. In fact, the first shot in this clip, with just one light, I thought it was very nice.

  • are these light bulbs clear or frosted??

  • @woodfern these are frosted

  • Did I hear correctly 150 or 160watt bulbs in each clamp lamp?

seems you could use a thinner paper and get away with less light.

  • @ne5b yes you are correct. but thinner paper would have a hot spot and produce harder light / different look, but will work fine too....

  • Nice tips!! But Claudia is much spectacular, stellar.

  • awsome! claudias a star!

  • excellent tutorial thank you, I have a question, do you use 150 watts bulbs of what kind, soft white or day light type of incandescent light?

  • @safoed with ability to set custom WB it really doesn't matter what bulbs you use, just make sure that they are all consistent: all daylight or all tungsten

  • this guy is like a robot! kinda scary

  • @ch0w .... lol i am more human now, see latest tutorials :) . looking forward to your feedback

  • Great Job!!

  • good job...did u use the camera flash for the shots?

  • Where do you buy that tissue paper for diffusion?

  • @flintloveless get a clearprint vellum 1000H 42X5 YD ROLL - just search google for it- should be about $25

  • THANK U!! UR TUTORIALS ARE GREAT!!!

  • cool nice lesson, thank you
