I just got one of those bulbs you say are junk. Maybe I did not have as high of expectations. I have not tried it in the mag light yet, just a 2 cell AA flashlight I have at work. The krypton bulb gave me a meter reading of F4.0 and the Nite Ize was F5.6 so that is a 2 Fstop difference. Each F stop equals a doubling of light. So, in effect, it is a lot brighter in my tiny AA size light. My price- 9.95 usd..... I hope to try this in a mag light in the next couple of days.

I got the first one after my brother upgraded, it's much brighter than the standard maglite bulb, but it wasn't as bright as his, I think his was actually Maglite brand. I think I should try to get that newer one... it wasn't out when I bought mine.

Is the first one deff a 0.5 watt,i think thats the one i bought but didnt see the watts on the package.

@benny5825 I would say so. I saw no wattage on the package but, for the runtime and brightness that would be my guess.

@frypod i bought the cheaper one for my 3d cell maglite and it is brighter than the bulb so i was happy and i got it for 13 dollars in the us

@RepsolRC211V For the 0.5 watt is I'm guessing about 45 lumens and the 1 watt around 80 or 90. Thats my guess.

If I get another one, it will be either, mag brand or terralux. I think they only work for the 4 D cells and up. I could be wrong though.
