  • Yeah it's down half a step, as far as I can tell.

  • Oh, thanks god. Finally, someone who is NOT tone deaf replied to my comments. Nimax got it too.

Anyone with a common sense in pitch would know this is half-step down., people! Go grab a damn instrument and learn what it is about

  • The album version is in the key of Eb/D#. When they play it live they just bump it down a half step...I think. haha.

  • They didn't tune their guitars down a half-step though, they just removed the capo from the first fret. (I play it with the capo on the first fret, and it sounds just fine. And my guitar isn't tuned down or up or anything)

  • The song "Different Names" is in the same key root as this tuning, that's awesome.

  • matter of fact, Plans was post 2005, and i think this tuning is what most of plans was in, and im guessing that on a wing but it's a possibility they just were too lazy to retune or pick up another instrument.

  • no you know what, tonog's got it, but i don't think it's because of vocal range. it's not that much higher at all.

  • this is the same key as the recording, holmes.

  • i love death cab for cutie, but im quite dissapointed. i hate it when bands tune down the instruments in live shows because the singer cant keep up with the vocal range of their own songs.

  • it's not tuned down

  • the guitars and the bass are tuned half-step down in Eb. listen to the original recording after viewing this video

  • you are fucking retarded, tonogc

  • whatever floats your boat :)

  • who cares they still play it good

  • I am with you TONOGC: absolutly would bet anyone on here my life savings that it is tuned down at least a half step. And I am a vocal major so would assume I can hear pitch. Or at least I hope so or the bachelors degree I got would be ironic.

  • @RockrGuy25

    UHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH

sorry to tell you, but they're not tuned down one bit, and you're all tone deaf hahaha.

even without the capo, they would just move everything up one fret.

I'LL bet YOU my major in composing at berklee college of music that i'm right.

the vocalist(s) arent even singing on tune towards the end. maybe that threw you off

  • My favorite show I've ever seen live.

    hands down.

  • they are amazing live.

  • This is pretty nice sound quality.

  • I WOULD not know about this. They played last year on my birthday and I live just west of Detroit.
