  • The group from 6:36 - 6:40 is UTFO!!

  • and also I think the group had the word "KING" in their name too I believe. It was either King something,,, or something King.... I just remember King in their name somewhere & they had some pretty hard voices too & they had like a cool accent when they rapped. I haer bits & pieces of the song in my head, but I can't place the song..if anybody can help, it really would be appreciative. It was a real classic too. like (80's maybe late 90's perhaps. ) was a good song 2 if any1 remembers. Thanx.;-)

  • from 6:36 to 6:40 does anybody know who those guys were? I'm thinkin of an old rap group with people who dressed up, ( think they might've had a hard voice), & like somethin with these key words involved....somethin with a baseball bat, a tribe ( not tribe called quest ), umm, somethin with indians and somethin with a verse that required ( yah yah yah ) in it. tryin to piece together those key words to cum with who the group was and/or the song if anybody know..it be helpful. think. & Thank u.

  • that is Afrika Bambaataa and the Soul Sonic Force!!!

  • @EnigmaSolved Thanks. After reviewing that several times over & over again...I thought thats who that might've been....I was first thinking of some other old school rap band...but I didn't think that was them until I was just told now.... Thank you. Now I know. ;-)

  • yo im barely 18 and i like hip-hop better than anything. its the shit!

  • UTFO!!!

  • Yo, that mix took me WAAAAAAY Back!

Seeing the Sugar Hill Gang album cover for "Rapper's delight reminded me of when it came out. One dude had it and lent it out to everybody so we could all copy a tape of it.

I remember we waited over a week and he came over, we made a copy and then he bounced cause more people were waiting to make a tape.

    Ahh, the good old days.

  • what is the name of the song that starts at 1:08???

  • That was "Friends" by Whodini starting just after 1:08. Hope this helps.

  • OLD SCHOOL HIP-HOP RULES

  • I would like to see a mc battle decade against decade to see who had the best mcs 79-89 against 90-00.! Who do you think would win? Let me know what you think....

  • The mid 70's thru the early 90's were hip hop's Golden Era; 1994 is the year hip hop's DOWNWARD SPIRAL began; The Deregulation Act of the mid 90's KILLED hip hop's (and R&B's) artistry & originality..

By 1999-04, hip hop was on its death bed. From 2005 - present, it OFFICIALLY was artistically & spiritually DEAD..

  • No Bling? No Girls? It must be REAL HIP HOP! REPRESENT REPRESENT! When it meant somethin to be from BROOKLYN!

  • why cant hip hop be like this i think technology affected hip hop cause now their abounch of low life attention whores who just sing for money fame and attention

  • soulja boy's hip hop is for dance flamenco...ahahahhahahahahaha people like him destroyes the concept of real hip hop...

stay at home and listen true music and don't say anymore what you have said because is an offense to people who believe in this culture...

    ......mangywi cru......

  • bless you this is real rap, not like the crapof these new wannabees without rhythm and soul no groove,... you boys do it !!!

  • OMG...now you're talking 'real rap', we've lost this talent when young wannabees wanted to change what's already been established...you can listen to your 'crap rap' all you want, give me this anytime...live long and prosper old skool !!

  • What is the difference between then and now ? the elements of FUN and ORIGINALITY . Today everyone has to act so hard that they are scared to be original or different in any way.

  • Aye that's real talk!!! I stay on that new shit too but this shit here is what's crack'n fools was definetly having fun. It's coming back and I think fools know where it needs to get back to we just have to teach the youth and bridge the gap cause radio will not do it.

  • Nice video! I was gonna say you played UTFO, but no pics of them................ Then one popped up. : ) Dj Cas. Lawrence, Kansas

  • Yes, back in the days I spend over a loooong period all the money I got to get those records... And I think it was wise!!! (just check out the crap they play now...)

  • love it, i still play this stuff very loud,,,

  • THIS IS REAL OLDSKOOL Check out my oldskool megamix when you get a chance thanks KEEP IT ALIVE

  • Please, DO NOT CALL THIS HIP HOP!! THIS IS RAP,IN ITS PURE RAP!!, Hip Hop is a grandchild of rap that killed her,

The parent of Hip Hop is House music, I really miss the 80's, I will always have those memories.

  • your comments show that you don't know your history. Rap is Hip-Hop. It also includes DJing, BB-boying and Grafiti. These are the 4 ELEMENTS of Hip-Hop. Hip-Hop came originally from the Toasting/Djing sub-style that was prevalent in Reggae music from Jamaica.

House music came from Chicago and was influenced by Disco; it came out around the time that hip-hop music came out, by it's not the predecessor....

You need to get your facts straight, pal...

  • hip hop has 5 elements. the 5th is beatbox

  • Nope, Hip-Hop has 4 and only 4!!! Beat-boxing, technically speaking, was like the human equivalent of DJaying, since the DJ was the one that provided the beat. Beat-boxing, IMO, is the derivative of Djying, but it's not an element of hip-hop.

  • I'd put it i the same category as MCing. Moving The Party making the music w/ yer mouth. I'm not calling them the same thing, but if it falls in an element it's MCing.

  • KRS-ONE best explained it this way:

    "Rap is something you do;

    Hip-Hop is something you LIVE."

Rap music is a verbal, musical, and soulful expression of Hip-Hop culture, which evolved in the early 1970's. House music evolved from Disco, Club, and R&B in the 1980's.

Please don't speak on something you don't understand.

  • brrrrpppmmmm stick eeeeeeeeeeeem!what a nice mix!peace!!!

  • What is the opening song to this?

  • artist and song? 5:39

  • tuneratic the group is UTFO (Un-Touchable Force Organization), the song is "Roxanne, Roxanne" released in 1983-84. This song sparked a lot of answer and diss records. For example, the female MC that spits after UTFO is "The Real Roxanne" that dissed them back.
