a magyar változat-Mészöly Dezső fordítása Kisasszonyok, ne sírjatok! A férfi mind kalandor, Fél lába itt, fél lába ott, Csak gondtalan csatangol. Ne sírj, leány/ A férfiért, Légy hetyke, fürge, pörge, Csak vállat vonj, ha bánat ért - Hej, táncra, körbe-körbe! Ne nyújtsd a jajt, ne nyögd a bajt, Ha kínja olykor elfog! Míg nyár virít, míg lomb kihajt, A férfi úgyse lesz j Ne sírj leány/ A férfiért, Légy hetyke, fürge, pörge, Csak vállat vonj, ha bánat ért Hej, táncra, körbe-körbe!
ahhh thank you! thank you! thank you! I need to do present this in english, and I can't memorize to save my life (except when it comes to songs). and this is going to help me out a bunch :)
Would it be at all possible for you to upload the song from Twelfth Night (The name is still up for debate, maybe "The Wind and the Rain" or "The Rain It Raineth Everyday") performed by Ben Kingsley? I can't really think that it is, but if you could that would be great.
This song is so beautiful. I learned it as an upbeat Irish Madrigal.........I was confused that it was the same name, but the lyrics are exactly the same. I like it both ways.
I came to your channel after getting your comment on Casta's vids, hoping to see what kind of impression you make, but alas, no vids except this one. So I will just say that I prefer the version of this song from the movie. Kenneth & Emma were perfect in it! It's a damn shame they got divorced, but their movie will be perfect forever! :-D
guess you would find the "rules" for a sonnet on wikipedia... i'd really like to help you but i forgot everything about it long time ago, i only think to know that it needs 14 verses or sth like that? ;)
An Italian sonnet (these are what Shakespeare is famous for) consists of 14 lines. Shakespeare also writes in Iambic Pentameter, meaning that there are always exactly 10 syllables per line. Put these rules together, you get a Shakespearean Sonnet. Using the rules of a Shakespearean Sonnet, this song wouldn't be one.
You are right that this is not a sonnet, but your definition of a Shakspearean sonnet is not quite up to scratch. The difference between an Italian/Petrarchan sonnet and an English/Shakespearean/Elizabethan sonnet is that the rhyme scheme of the Shakespearean sonnet is less strict. All sonnets are written in iambic pentameter.
Thanks for the heads up. This is just what I remember from my freshman English class, which was 2 years ago. Never knew about that rhyming bit though.
I have to sing this in my high school play. I'm a girl Balthazar.

Isn't it? =D I love all things literary, and Shakespeare's comedies always make laugh in a way today's humor can't seem to parallel.
