  • These are obviously not going to pass in a competition, but they were way more functional than stiff straight up straight down pull-ups. This is yet another reason how people like him manage to get so strong... You put your whole body into every exercise and you will become way stronger than if you isolate muscle groups. There was nothing wrong with the form either. That's a proper way of doing a pull-up in a power lifter's world.

  • @lilbobpwnsu There are overhand grip pullups, underhand grip pullups, kipping pullups, mixed grip pullups, L-pullups etc. They are all pullups, and each have their own qualities. Try telling a gymnast not to kip, he'd be lauging at you. Its like saying dont use leg drive when you benchpress to a powerlifter, he'd be laughing at you too. This video doesnt say "55 strict pullups" it just says "55 pullups" and thats what he did.

The point here is that the title says 55 pullups and these are not pullups they are momentum swings and we all know that that's less impressive then doing the full range movement with no momentum and therefore we've been lied to thinking we're about to watch a video of the real deal when we click on it and see this bullcrap.

This man has an over 2000 powerlifting total which is world class at any level, and has one of the best deadlifts in history. I think you can trust that he knows how to build strength in his muscles and doesn't need to hear from someone how to do pull ups better. All world class powerlifters are on roids but it still takes a shit ton of time and hard work to get that strong.

  • His body adjusts to this weight, so being skinny or not doesn't matter, it's what you can do with your own body. So sure one pull up is harder for him than a skinny guy in aspects of weight, but his body knows his weight. The difficulty is the same for the two people independently.

    That being said, kipping pull ups are still easier than normal pull ups. Therefore, these 55 are still easier. 55 kipping is still rather impressive, but not greatly.

    I did'nt say that he's doing regular pullups - neither he is saying that. He says a few times here on Youtube that he's been doing skipping pullups which are a Variation of Pullups (Regular Pullups and Skipping Pullups are both pullups in a more general way) most of his time and has had great results. Pullups ist just the overall name for this exercise. There are skipping, clapping, regular, ... pullups. He sais he had done 55 pullups - and that is true.55 skipping pullups.
