  • Wayne: I knew the mob wouldn't go down without a fight, but this is different. They crossed the line.

Alfred: You crossed the line first, though. You hammered them, and in their despiration, they turned to a man they didn't fully understand. Some men aren't looking for anything logical. They can't be bought, bullied, or negotiated with. Some men just want to watch the whole worls burn.

Joker: Starting tonight, people will die. I'm a man of my word (laughs maniacally).

  • @venomfan3412 Well congratulations, you've proven to everyone that you're not deaf.

  • when i saw this trailer , my mind was speculating about which villain it would be like is it the riddler, is it bane, you know. but when I heard the joker talk, laugh, then show the joker card, i'm like, "oh my freaking god, it's the joker!" it gave me goosebumps to this day.

  • This is the greatest movie in history. The final line in the movie gives me chills every time.

  • Oh, man! I can't wait to watch this!

Hang on...*Pulls out the Blu Ray of it.* Okay, got it covered.

  • Three words came to mind when I first saw this trailer.

    HE Is Coming.......

  • Yep. I just got goosebumps.

  • .... 3 years later and this teaser still gives me goosebumps.

  • @Christian28Star I KNOW!!!!! Very very creepy haha. First trailer ever to not have a single shot of the film in it!!! Wow and it still is better than anything I've ever seen! lmao

  • seriously the best fucking teaser of any movie if not all time, but in comic-book movie history

  • @marvelous247 Nah, mate. It was awesome but I think the teaser for Batman Begins with Bruce's monologue is a lot more epic !

  • Not the Joker we deserved.

    But the Joker we needed.

  • You know Heath's voice sounds so different all americ-fied and joker-fied. He really must've had to change his voice to sound that expertly crazed.

  • @riptiderobin15 he spent like a full year in his hotel room, reading comics, watchin the old movies, reading graphic novels...like studied the joke

  • @ryan803 Lol, it was only like 3 months he spent in his hotel room. A whole year is crazy lol..

  • @Worraps1989 he spent like, means i have no clue but im gonna guess because i heard he did that. but yeah i dont know too many people willing to spend 3 months in seclusion just to study the joker

  • @ryan803 Yeah true. Total dedication from Heath, and it shows..

  • hell yes! i cant wit till this goes to theaters

  • Cant wait for the Dark Knight!!!!

If any of you guys are interested, I have just posted a NEW version of BATMAN DEAD END, which has a completely new original music score to it. BATMAN VS ALIENS VS PREDATOR Directed by Sandy Collora and new music by Chris Haigh. I'd love to know what you guys think. thanks for you time

  • Jokes's voice is ok he sounds a little to much like The Riddler(I hope they bring Jim Carrey back), but i do like his laugh...

  • has the chicago comic-con trailer been relesed yet if so where can i find it

  • I cannot wait to see this movie. It's gonna rock so hard.

  • When I found out that Heath Ledger was doing the Joker I couldn't apprehend that he would give a good performance but finally I hear the voice and it sounds great.

  • Ledger's voice kicks ass in that clip. I wouldn't have recognized it!

  • Can't wait for this movie. Although I couldn't wait to

see War of the Worlds either but considering I liked

Batman Begins this one should own.

  • i cant wait but i said that about spider man 3 and i was dissapointed so i dont trust teasers or trailers anymore

  • I didn't really like the Spiderman 3 trailers at all. Turns out, they were an accurate reflection of the movie.

  • read the long halloween and dark victory thats what these movies are going for

  • All I have to say is, Ledger did a great job with the Joker Voice. one would almost think he took voice lessons from Nicholson himself!

  • did any of you realize that at the end of the first one, he handed batman a joker card and thats what was flying in the preview. the first one? yah thats a sequel to batman begins. same actors people and it is in fact the joker who is the bad guy in this one.

  • Actually that is Dent. Dent had a crazy laugh too.

  • @drew03zx3

    Actually your wrong,

horay for me, cause I'm from the future so I know.

    lol.

  • T-Bag would be great. But I think (if anyone cares)that Ledger might pull it off. I just saw "10 Things..." and his looked like he could play the Joker well. And that is NOT Dent in the Trailer at all.

  • ...The joker speaks in this trailer, Those last lines, "Starting tonight, people will die... I'm a man of my words... Mm-ha-ha-haaa", Are Joker.

  • It's confirmed: Two-Face will be in the movie, with all his dual-sided glory. This leads me to believe that it IS Harvey Dent from 0:38 to 0:43... NOT the Joker... I'm still hoping that the laugh is Heath Ledger's, but i'm still not too sure.

  • dude. How can you think that it's not Joker? He practially sounds like Jack Nicholson! Like I said.. It is not Harvey Dent.. No way.

  • Rather lame teaser. A shot of the Batman logo and some actor voiceovers a good teaser trailer does not make. The guy that plays T-Bag in Prison Break was born to play the Joker.

  • OMG I gotta go see this.Batman is my favorite superhero of all time and I loved Batman Begins. But damn this shit don't come out 'til next year.

  • Best "Batman" 1-worst 5-best

    Adam West-2; Michael Keaton-4; Kevin Conroy-5; Val Kilmer-3; George Clooney-2; Christian Bale-5;

  • who's kevin conroy? by the way mine is like this West-2 Keaton-4 Kilmer-1 (absolute crap! jim carrey saved the 3rd!) Clooney-3 (really wasnt THAT bad) Bale-5 (i would give out a 10 out of 5 if i could.)

    STARTING TONITE PEOPLE WILL DIE.

    I'M A MAN OF WORD...BUHAHHAHAHA!

  • Kevin Conroy was the voice of Batman in the animated series of the 90s. He was also in the Justice League series.

  • Who's Kevin Conroy? The best of the Batmans from the Animated Series. His best incarnation was the Fox series and then he changed his approach when it moved over to the WB series and then on Batman Beyond and Justice League. His Fox incarnation was perfect, but the others were decent, too.

  • ooh cool the joker

  • "I'm a man of my word." Excellent :)

  • we wont be alive until next summer.

  • Don't mention 2 face to me the stupid film director made up his own mind about Harvey dent and changed history

  • What are you talking about?

  • I Can't Wait!!!!

  • Yeah it was Joe Chill, a low level hood that panicked and killed Bruce's family. Read the comic books, read the tradepaperbacks. It was not a conspiracy or anything.

  • Maaaan, I wasn't so sure if Heath Ledger could pull of the joker, but when I hear him speaking and that laugh, GAH! It's almost too perfect!

  • True and I agree! I thought this must be good. He says just 3 lines and I almost freaked out how good this was. Excellent

  • I'm still not convinced. He just doesn't look right, and he sounded terrible.

  • Well whooptee effing doooooo!!!!!

  • Ok.... from 0:38 to 0:42.... that's definately aaron eckhart as harvey dent.... two distinct voices.... it may actually be him threw to the end.... but it's GOT to be joker's laugh

  • Who's BATMAN

  • Christian Bale

  • I cant believe people think the joker killed batman's parents just because tim burton said so. first and only youtube comment. carry on.

  • I don't think we'll be seeing huge air ballons filled with laughing gas, just a pure psychotic that likes to kill people.

  • Begins brought the franchise back, now its comin with the powerhouse with this one....SICK.

  • Only Tim Burton can make a descent Batman movie.

  • What Tim Burton did may have been interesting and quirky, but it wasn't Batman.

  • Oh yes, it absolutely was. And the animated series that sprung from Burton's films, is the best damn incarnation of the character to date.

  • really? The animated series wasnt like the Burton movies.

  • Nope. His movies suck. A lot. Burton doesnt even understand Batman...and neither do you.

  • boooo....how at the end of the last movie he gets a joker card.....joker didnt come after he had a oil spill

  • Seems like they're recreating the story. It was shown that someone else killed Bruce Wayne's parents in the previous movie too. Sigh, I hate when they do things like this.

  • "Someone else" always killed his parents. It was Burton who went for the Joker as the killer idea.

  • is it just me or does it sound like heath ledger is channeling Al Pacino a little bit

  • In the comics, Joker did not kill Batman's parents. The last movie actually got it right in Joe Chill being the killer. So it was the Burton movies that actually changed things.

  • Joker didnt kill Bruce´s parents, stupid.

  • Trying to give The Joker an origin is stupid. It diminishes the impact. I'm glad Nolan did it like this. The Joker is what he is. No lame psychoanalyses. No IDIOTIC Red Hood story. "Some men just want to see the world burn."

That's all you need to know.

  • Heath Ledger sounds like a mix between Jack Nicholson's Joker and House.

  • after watching this, i already have a feeling this is going to be far superior than "Begins".

  • Amazing,,,,you can see how the actors are working hard with their characters just by hearing those voices....

  • Cool Alfred speech, cool Joker voice, Looking good

  • very awesome video

  • Actually, I think he sounds like Paul Giamatti.

  • kinda lame

  • At the end of the trailer, isnt that the laugh box the Joker had, from batman 89?

  • No, it sounds nothing like the laugh box from Batman 89. Stop trying to see parallels with Nicholson's Joker - this is a completely different portrayal, period.

  • No, ricarleite is right. That IS the laugh box sound at the end. It's not a comparison to Nicholson's Joker, Ledger's laugh isn't what we're discussing. It's the sound behind the music at the very end of the trailer. Listen for it. That's ABSOLUTELY the laugh box sound from Batman. Now the REAL question is, will they be USING that device in the movie, or is it just in the teaser for effect?

  • Maybe it's a little nod to the original film, kinda like Vader's breath at the end of Phantom Menace credits.

  • It's not a laugh box. You're talking at like 0:48, after Heath's laugh? It's just background sound - perhaps human, but not a laugh box.

Saying that Nicholson's Joker sucks is not sacrilege, there are plenty of people who agree. Nolan probably does not have much respect for that portrayal.

  • I agree - it is NOT the laugh box from "Batman". It's percussion in the orchestration.

  • Directly after its still the music. at marker 53, its the laugh box. just listen carefully. HAhhaAhahAHhAHAhHAa

  • No, I have Batman '89 and I just listened to the laugh box at the end. This is NOT the box, just part of the orchestra music in this revised Batman theme. But it does sort of remind you of it, which may very well be the point. Good catch though, I think they put it in there to give it an eerie feeling.

  • whats a laugh box?

  • I can't get over how great Ledger sounds.

  • Holy mother of all saints, cool trailer and the Joker diaologue just invigorated it. That laughter sure was creepy! I'm starting to have faith in Nolan's vision again! It's a great feeling..Please own '89!

  • when the batman symbol explodes you can see a glimpse of him on the right.

  • Um that's a Joker Card not Him.

  • That's a joker playing card crashing through the bat symbol.

  • Heath is obviously channeling Jack Nicholson for the Joker's voice, with a better laugh. I think that's awesome.

  • He isn't channeling Nicholson. Nicholson sucked.

  • Ha ha.

You might not have like that particular portrayl of the Joker, but saying Nicholson as the Joker sucked is nigh on sacrilege, it also invalidates your opinion.

  • BOOO!!!! this trailer sucks!!!! thats it????? atleast give us some scenes.......LOL IM JOKING this trailer seriously kicks ass its just a taste of whats to come in december (hopefully).

  • This is a teaser. Giving enough things to hook viewers into interesting.

  • Do Want!

  • Class.

  • This looks awesome, I love Heaths voice in this, Michael Caine is just awesome as Alfred. "They turned to a man they didn't fully understand" is one of the best lines ever, it perfectly describes The Joker, too bad he's dead... Why So Serious? See You In December HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA

  • you do realize that the Joker is the villain in "The Dark Knight", yes?

  • "real crooks do it with style, not speed"

  • Nice! The Joker sounds like a mix between The Yellow Bastard and Beetlejuice. Very cool.

  • the joker looks like an ICP reject

  • Um we don't even know what the Joker Looks Like so how can you say he looks like an ICP reject.

  • because if you looked on the internet properly you would find pictures of the joker that have already been released.

  • wtf ? we have 2 official pics of the joker and tons of leaked pics . how the hell can you say " we don't even know what the joker looks like " ?

  • Those pics aren't the final makeup; they're screen tests and pre production work.

  • No they're not. The super closeup face shot is final. There's a new picture taken directly from the movie with him holding a knife to Rachel's throat and it's the same makeup from the viral website. He applies the makeup himself and does not have true white skin or true red lips. This is he Arkham Asylum graphic novel version of the Joker. He looks exactly like the original 1939 version with the dark circles around his eyes.

  • Nice teaser. One more year away though. :(

  • The Joker sounds like a Sin City villain. It might not be the Joker everyone wants, but he'll still be the best screen version of the Joker we'll see.

  • ....thats a terrible teaser. they didn't even show anything. its just a bunch of lights and people talking. ah well, i'm still gonna see it.

  • You are an assclown. And not even a professional, but an amateur assclown. A teaser doesn't have to show you anything. It is meant to tease, and in this case, the audio does a good job of teasing the viewer into wanting to know more.

  • Agreed, although I wouldn't flatter them by referring to them as a professional. This is a wonderful teaser.

  • i don't think it makes him an assclown. People like him are so used to seeing the whole movie before it hits theatres, because trailers show so much now. So don't blame him, blame the fact that people who aren't fan boys have to know way too much before putting out money for a ticket, otherwise they will just buy the camcorder dvd version from one of their Yoboys.

  • Assclown

  • No, it was the perfect TEASER. This is not a normal trailer. The movie is a year away and they only started filming the movie. Word has it that Nolan hasn't even cut any footage yet, so there's not footage to show. This is how all teasers should play out. It's the very definition of teaser. It teases and follows the age old tradition of less is more. This always leads to the viewer wanting more, and that is what the online viral campaign marketing is all about.

  • great, the joker sounds like richard dreyfuss.

  • Fantastic. I'm here opening day. Front row, middle seat, pants down.

  • HAHAHAHA!

  • Ledger was the most senseable guy to play the role for his age and extrordinary acting capabilities, and it shows more so in the 10 seconds of voice time of his.

  • Wow, that's a high pitched laugh.

  • nice

  • "starting tonight people will die"

    can't wait!
