@SlimeyBastardVG2 Do you do larp ? :P I need some advice for starting. I don't know like if there are teams, and if so what team / race to pick etc. Stuff like that :P
Oh, a suggestion from my experience: Instead of eletrical tape try something called "Friction Tape". I'm using it for most of my weapons now and It's SO freaking amazing! ;D
Would it be a bad idea to use a wooden pole of the same size rather than pvc or fiberglass? Would it be less prone to breaking, or would it hit too hard?
It's interesting to see all the different ways that people build boffers, because they all have similar, but still somewhat different ways of making them, but they are very different than how I make them.
The sword looked beautiful! To the comment about starting a larping group, there is a thing called amtgard. ( which I do ) to start this kind of group you have to get permission from the nearby principality. I don't exactly have all the details. That's what I know. Sorry if I couldn't help more. Look up winters edge on Facebook for more details.
I personally like using PVC pipe cutters for cutting cores - I find it much less cumbersome, but that's just me... and I have successfully cut fiberglass cores without nicking the cutting blades in case anybody wonders.
I see no reason to not like LARP. Sure they get bruised by giant foam weapons, but its better than being stuck in a basement all day. Plus, it actually LOOKS fun and some of the weapons and costumes look AMAZING
@bravo4161: If you're referring to us, the people who like this stuff, well, prove it.
[Not to make an error of logic by creating a straw man, or red herring, but at least we "faggots" can actually use the English language correctly for the most part :P]

I dont see to many things wrong with it, sure its very nerdy but they think its fun and at least they dont stay inside all the time and play things like WOW!
I usually don't like boffers finished with duct tape, but yours looks quite nice! I think it's because of your policy on the single, long pieces running the length of the blade.
