  • @DevilMinah Thank you

  • omg you are a great dad for not getting angry at your child!

  • I'm so jealous.. I wish I could LARP.

  • "....Kane as curious child" lolz. went larping first time today...nothing like I expected. Soooooo much freakin fun! XD

  • @DJayMutiny hell yeah.

  • awesome video dude

  • It costs under $3.00??? Put one on ebay for $20-$30 and send me a message and ill buy it. ^-^

  • Nice Burp @ 2:34!

  • lmao 2:34 funny noises

  • lol the camera guy seems retarded

  • The kid is acting so damn distracting

  • This somehow reminds me of paranormal activity D: Great video!

  • And also, what are you using to cut the foam? i like how well its cutting.

  • @DrDyslexia To me it looks like a plaster applicator (Used to smooth out plaster on walls) with a very well sharpened edge

  • Dear sir who made this video, you BETTER get that child into Larp. the larp society must start training the next generation while they are young.

  • @DrDyslexia Im 15, im thinking of starting with larp :) Only problem is, all armors are so damn expensive if you want to buy like the whole gear.. :(

  • @hahahavictorsmile just be a BOSS without armor :D

  • @SlimeyBastardVG2 Haha lol, i'll run around in my boxers with a BIG ASS sword for like $285 :P

  • @SlimeyBastardVG2 Do you do larp ? :P I need some advice for starting. I don't know like if there are teams, and if so what team / race to pick etc. Stuff like that :P

  • @hahahavictorsmile no i don't :( there aren't alot of LARP groups here but you can go hit your friends with boffers or do a fight club thingy :D

  • Oh, a suggestion from my experience: Instead of eletrical tape try something called "Friction Tape". I'm using it for most of my weapons now and It's SO freaking amazing! ;D

  • @LyndanTylor is that like hockey tape? if so, i use that for my handles. its amazing.

  • Where the mess did you get the fiberglass rod?

  • can u show how to make a small axe? pls :D

  • haters will hate. but i think your the best!

    thanks for helping me out!

i will go make my own now :D!

  • Could you by chance show how to make a boffer spear that looks like a spear not a cut up pool foam toy stuck on a stick?

  • What's the brand of foam you used?

  • did you know nerf sell's these now and there allot better but nice job on the sword

  • @Live4Mods Many LARPs don't allow them because they're actually too hard believe it or not. I just found that out the hard way.

  • Would it be a bad idea to use a wooden pole of the same size rather than pvc or fiberglass? Would it be less prone to breaking, or would it hit too hard?

  • @LyndanTylor i think that a wooden core would break much easier because it isn't as flexible

  • that would not pass a weapons check at belegarth

  • It's interesting to see all the different ways that people build boffers, because they all have similar, but still somewhat different ways of making them, but they are very different than how I make them.

  • saaaaad

  • @MrJewjewbees in no he should of used the carom tape

  • @XtremAlien you cant and no.

(if you mean the "boffer" as in the foam then just go to a craft store)

  • "That's gonna look KOOOOOOOOOL"

  • Larping... It gets you laid...

  • @ScrisGaming He has a kid, aparently it does get you laid there chief. where do you think children come from?

  • @grmape86 I wasn't being sarcastic...

  • like this if the guy at 2:30 freaked you out

  • The sword looked beautiful! To the comment about starting a larping group, there is a thing called amtgard. ( which I do ) to start this kind of group you have to get permission from the nearby principality. I don't exactly have all the details. That's what I know. Sorry if I couldn't help more. Look up winters edge on Facebook for more details.

  • what do u think the best way to start larping in a town is we have like 30 people who want to but we dont have enough money to make entire armory

  • I personally like using PVC pipe cutters for cutting cores - I find it much less cumbersome, but that's just me... and I have successfully cut fiberglass cores without nicking the cutting blades in case anybody wonders.

  • i wonder if im suppose to use DAP contact cement

  • dude thank you for this you're the only one on youtube so far who's given me actual help

  • IT COST $2.34 OMG IM SO MAKING THIS NOW thanks :D !!!!!!

  • i didn't care for larp but now i want to try

  • 0:57 kid puts tape on head

  • what is the best way to aplie the dap

  • Very, very nice! I'd like to try making one like this. Going to check with my group to see what they think.

  • how thick is the fiberglass that ur using?

  • hey dont forger great excrsize i bet i didnt spell that right

  • We have been finding real life quest from random people on the street and online.

  • Ill admit for something made @ home that is quite cool, I am not inspired to attempt a Roman Gladius!

  • I see no reason to not like LARP. Sure they get bruised by giant foam weapons, but its better than being stuck in a basement all day. Plus, it actually LOOKS fun and some of the weapons and costumes look AMAZING

  • @bravo4161: If you're referring to us, the people who like this stuff, well, prove it.

[Not to make an error of logic by creating a straw man, or red herring, but at least we "faggots" can actually use the English language correctly for the most part :P]

  • Vary helpful tutorial ( ;

Can you tell me what's the name of the tool you used to cut out that cool angle on the blade? Thank you

  • whats the size of the fiberglass?

  • where do you get the fibreglass core?

  • one q can i do LARPing in uk and can kids do it

  • @gdrot06

it is different for every social... yes they have LARPS in the uk... and the social I go to ( in The usa) allow kids 10 and up.

  • I fucking like larping. I want to play it so bad, even if I would get a little overboard.

  • is the trust point safe to stab with ???

  • lol the cost of making that weapon in my country is freaking 30 bux!!!!

  • where did you buyed it???

i want to make larp weapons and i don't have latex foam.

  • redo the video but get the kid out of the way so i can focas on the actual instructions

  • lol the kid obviously wants attention.

  • 0:42

    bunny ears

  • is that .505 core?

  • how old do you have to be to start larping?

  • @supafudgecake

Lol it doesnt matter. As long as you beat ppl with your swords not shoot them with airsoft guns :D btw i started a long long time ago.. i think i was 8 about that time.

  • EA Sport's IT'S IN THE LARP!!!

  • im 13 and i play larp with my friends and made already 2 swords and a shield

  • nice work dude:) great totorial:)

  • Cute kid.

  • you guys are all fucking neards...i mean realy making a little sword out of foam? what the fuck!! EVERY ONE KNOWS YOU MAKE AN EVEN BIGGER SWORD OUT OF FOAM! :D!

  • @SirPhatniss You noob. If you would actually play LARP than you would know that the smaller and quicker the better.

  • @TheGamingVEVO 1st. Fuck off, its a joke

2nd. I dont use a sword. i have my battle axe i mad+my demon tail sword.

3rd. I make and sell these....i know what im doing

  • @SirPhatniss like to see u try to LARP

  • @thomasscheer1168 id like to see you get a girlfriend...

  • I would Love to LARP, but the main problem I have found with this is that I live in Kansas and I cant really find any Larping comunitys, if you know a place in Kansas or, are a Larper in Kansas, please tell me

  • I've got to ask why you still bother with Boffer's? This isn't 1985 + they look awful..

No excuse in this day & age of Larp. All about the Immersion folks!

    It helps enrich everyones event's..

  • Were thos minecraft creepers at 2:31?

  • its important to use a very light core, so the momentum doesn't transfer for a soft but quick hit

  • Now be a blacksmith and sell weapons

  • that's quite the workshop you got there

  • Your kid may have hyperactivity syndrom... Tape on head

  • white trash rigth there lol!Thubms up if u agree and they farted like 10 times in this vidlol lol lol lol lol!!!!!!!!

  • This method is different from the ones i've seen before. from people who've tried it, how are they safety-wise? (Yes i understand it's a physical activity, i'm trying to replace the ones i have which are pvc pipe with maybe 1/4 inch of padding.)

  • haha, i just started LARPing a few weeks ago, Personally, I like the War Hammer, but i havn't yet tried a sword like this, it looks like a cool weapon!

  • just finished making mine its close n alil shotty but i dont think its too bad for my first 1

  • keep pressing 9

  • o.o my nick name is kane lol also ima use it as my larp name lol

  • no, i dont think that the latex kind break easily, if it's made correctly. but i guess it's diffrent depending on the country. in sweden we are really into making everything look as correct to the time as possible. the most popular kind of larp is 14th century, and i'm not saying that latex is historically correct but it does feel better than duct tape.

  • hey are those swords you make in the background?

  • Does this sword work for amtgard?

  • Hey can you add like a curve to the sword because I have been drawing using a lot of paper and thinking so hard I farted.

  • duct tape?! whatever happened to latex? i dont know how it is in your country, but if you showed up with that weapon on a larp in sweden, people would laugh their ass off. xD

  • @killmemickey I don't know about this specific weapon, but I do believe in general these sorts of boffers used primarily in the US allow you to thrust safely. Correct me if I am wrong, but with latex weapons there is amuch greater risk that a thrust will "break" the weapon rendering it from there on forward unsafe.

I think it's really an aesthetic vs. functional thing, not to mention these are undoubtedly cheaper to make than their latex equivalent. Not that one is better than the other =]

  • Well, we're not in Sweeden... are we?

Latex is nicer, but not everybody can affort making purely latex weapons - hence the use of weapons like this, and even less "nice" looking ones - and I've seen some very nice looking duct tape things too for the record.

  • I wonder if u do te same thing but like make it smaller

  • sweetness dude

  • true it will cost me close to 50 just because ive got nothing, first time making one cant wait

  • a wat knife? ive been roughly shaping weapons, and i definatly need tht large knife u use

  • @dogface701 the knife at 0:39

  • i just started larping, and now ive got a sword and a bow! thanks dude (btw, this cost me 45 bucks :O) maybe its cause i had nothing in the first place :I

  • 1 Note about grip wrapping, use hockey tape,or make sure the last few layers are hockey tape : ).

  • do you say DAP as dap or d, a, p? gotta know in case any shop got the stuff... at all.

  • did he fart at 4:10? larp fart!

  • In Sweden larp regulation is much stricter, duct tape for an example is not allowed it must be latex or a similar substance.

  • bro thats way too much work. will you just make them for us? we need approx 56. all ranging from battle axes to halbierds. we will pay you with the finest leg of lamb. BY THE LIGHT OF THE MOON!!!!

  • Was that your wifes laundry basket? pro.

  • Your so sad you hang out with a 3yr old listen 2.34

  • 0.45 look at the kid lol

  • Check out the Hobbit Video on my Channel for LARP with the HOBBIT

  • Nice job on your video, did nice work explaining and showing how to make it as you went along.

  • @buzzincon maybe not LARPlayers, but those who fight with Belegarth are.

this is mainly jsut fighting with foam weapons.

  • The little kid was the coolest part of this video XD

  • maybe you try meeting some women.......... or going to the gym.

  • I dont see to many things wrong with it, sure its very nerdy but they think its fun and at least they dont stay inside all the time and play things like WOW!

  • What the hell was that at 2:33-2:38

  • I usually don't like boffers finished with duct tape, but yours looks quite nice! I think it's because of your policy on the single, long pieces running the length of the blade.

  • How do you make a sai?

  • Watching the kid put the ribbon cardridge on his head was more intresting than this.

  • @MsMirandaXoxo this wasnt supposed to be fun it for making the sword for LARP and making videos arent fun but usefull

  • Thanks for this! tearing is the BIGGEST problem i have with my tip.....

  • @afrayn You ever heard of 2kids in a sandbox? His tip tore.

  • I actually found myself wondering why the hell I should not like LARP. It's probably fun for those who do it, it's social, it's friendly, there is no money involved, and Justin Bieber doesn't do it.

  • @JizzMasterPino money is involved actually. most events cost money, and some people buy the weapons and armor instead of make them.

  • @JizzMasterPino Probably the best reason is that last bit.

  • @JizzMasterPino You have to spend a lot of money if you do not know where to look if you want to do this.

  • @JizzMasterPino actually only when u go to a LARPing event, u know like those battles on role models, and when ur making ur costume for LARPing,

  • Wow. I am impressed at how inexpensive you've made that boffer. I'm gonna give it a try and maybe even sell some at a game.

  • get a life or a real hobby maybe try the SCA

  • @sanzios

"real hobby"? A hobby is a hobby, no more or less real than one another.

And not everybody is into the "pad the player" philosophy that groups like the SGA tend to hold.

  • 6:24 thats what she said

  • wait what's the name on the blue something foam?

can't find it anywhere so I need to be able to translate it or know what I'm looking for if I have to import it.

  • @rogantu blue camp foam you can get them at Wal-mart

  • @dreadsheep doubt we got it in Norway.

we only have "normal" products, I guess the closest thing I get would be maths that are just not suited for this or small black squares used to sit on outside.

  • how much is the DAP contact cement??

  • @dlgjr1 for dagorhir boffer weapons i use a thin layer on each part thats being DAPed together and WAIT!!! till it drys a bit (about 5-10min) trust me if you dont it will fall apart. plus you need the RED can of DAP and never the gel kind it just dosent work as well. and depends on size the 16oz i got lasts me about 5-7 weapons or 3 shields

  • @gouddddd how awesome would life had been had my dad been into rpgs. That kid will has an instant community of fellow nerds as opposed to seeking them out.

  • How did you sharpen that paint chipper so much?

  • Comment removed

  • how bad would your life suck if your dad makes larp weapons, instead of do stuff that guys do..

  • @gouddddd That makes no sense.

  • those were velcro sneakers weren't they......

  • Im gonna make my 4th one using this method... i dont larp, its just better to sword fight with my friends with foam instead of wood :D

  • That one was wet.

  • Might want to give DAP a try

  • lol the kid balancing sh*t on his head

  • Awesome! so... you can use this same technique to make different types of swords?

  • is your wife asian. do you like the asian snatch. i think you do.

  • 2:35 WTF? xDD

  • Weapon making for intermediates: Instead of ducktape, give the weapon 4 or 5 coats of latex paint. It stays stretchy, but becomes totally watertight and is still very bouncy. You can then paint details it, and apply laquer if you want.

  • Great video man, no more pool noodle swords for me i'm going flat blade everything lol.

  • 1:23 made in usa ftw!!!!

  • I think I liked it better when it was blue.

But I have a question: would it be possible to make a weapon with an unusual shape with this method?
