my pc version of the game does something similar...everyone tells me you're supposed to have a dog in this game--ive beaten it and no dog...so I guess this was supposed to be him? Does anyone know how to fix it so I can have a dog companion?
you have to go to the scrapyard to get him his name is dogmeat. just dont kill his raiders he tends to glitch and keep growling so you cant talk to him.

I play on PC and I've seen this glitch, too. I wonder if there's a chance to meet him alive anyway.
