  • What is bigger in South Africa?? Football (soccer) league or rugby league??

  • @WingedCity01 soccer majita

  • This is probably the best pitch most of these guys have ever played on.

  • best STADIUM....not best pitch. Its an average pitch

  • Average by European standards maybe. But still probably the best pitch these guys have ever played on!!

  • @mjribes I'm South African. Trust me...this is not the best pitch (playing surface) that they have played on. I know what I'm talking about. It's clear that this is a poor quality pitch (brown spots etc)....as i said, maybe the best stadium, not pitch

  • Better than a hellova lot of PLS pitches I've seen these guys play on. And it's not even a very good stadium. Looks pretty and all, but the stands start too far back. There's too much distance between the crowd and the players. Kings Park, Orlando Stadium, Loftus, Newlands, Ellis Park etc. offer the crowd a better experiance.

    Waste of money this is!!

  • @mjribes that's because this stadium is not build purely for soccer. There are plans for an athletics track to go in (after the world cup)....which explaines the space between the stands and the field.

  • I know. Because it has dual functions it offers a inferior spectator experiance. Also, after the World Cup you will never full it, not for soccer, athletics or anything (except maybe rugby). & the Sharks don't want to move - they have 50 years left on their Kings Park lease. & all the Bok games in KZN will always be at Kings Park as per the SARU constitution.

So why not spend half the money on upgrading Kings Park, which is less than 200m away!?
