TVR Cerbera Race

viper rt/10, caterham super 7, lotus esprit SE. Aston Martin Vantage, - on paper the cerbera had that race hands down. 350hp and weighs not much over a ton... costing almost 35 grand (in its day) - they released the 4.2 later and that had over 420hp to the same weight - and its faster than most sports/super cars today. :) - funny thing is over a mile the viper gets beaten by the caterham lols xD

My uncle used 2 have a speed 6 cerby untill this dude doin a powerslide smashed into it in his shit vw golf i loved tht car tvr's r awesome and its sad seeing how amazing they was and now there completely bust.

I'll trade! I think a lot of the novelty of this car comes from the fact that it's unavailable in the U.S. I feel like all TVRs are like nothing else on the road, from their styling, to the interiors, to the engines, and even just the basic layout of things (door handles in the wing mirrors?). I just love how unique they are.

Had a go at the standing mile yesterday, at the 'Fighting Torque' event at Woodbridge airfield. My 13 year old Cerby, was getting through the mile at just under 32 seconds & 160 mph. Quite pleased with the old girl,and although technology & power had moved on, it's still surprising how competitive the old Cerbera is.

Got the 4.0L V8 Chimaera perched in my driveway =) Sounds incredible, performs incredibly, looks incredible and its 100% British

And by the way, on another note. From experience, I like the feel of American cars like the dodge, they are good for cruising but they all miss something... As well as the shudder handling that is. Muscle cars are generally over-tuned lawn mores, but they do sound nice, which is important

I saw this 3 months ago and as a result now have a cerbera 4.5 on the driveway. I can positively confirm that they are FF quick and BTW JapCrap and yank fans, the one in the vid was a 4.2, the 4.5 is WAY quicker so when you come up against one just drive quietly away and dont make a prick of yourself. There is a vid on youtube of an R32 being destroyed by a TVR Grif which has 100BHP less than the cerbera.

I have a Cerb too, though I have the 4.2 - BTW, in standard form there is nothing between the 4.5 and the 4.2 - In fact the 4.5 *very* often dynos a few BHP down on the 4.2 - You need short induction (whirlwind) and remap, then it'll be a wee bit quicker than a 4.2 :). Congrats on getting the best car on earth though :).

Spot on, the 4.5 and 4.2 were pretty much identical when leaving the factory, but the 4.5 can be fettled with much more. I'd 'estimate' my 4.5 to be around the 350bhp mark, whereas it should be over 400. I'll sort that out after Christmas!

Epic car though, relentless power, and lightweight too, being a little over a tonne, incidentally, I think all Skylines are over 1.5 tonnes. (Great cars though).

The Viper has 8000cc the TVR has 4200 and it still won.Plus the Viper can't go round corners.Skylines have Technology but a TVR has Soul.American cars have NOTHING!!!Quality comes by building cars with passion NOT by just getting them off a production line as fast as you can!Who would Ever want to buy an American car Only an American???

Be fair - Dodge have caught up a lot over the years... when you consider that when they were turning 5.2Litres into 150BHP, TVR was pushing 271BHP from a 4.7L. They'll *never* quite be as incredible as TVRs were though.

I'll give the Skyline the respect it deserves. But if you're talking about a speed 12; nothing short of a 1000bhp Skyline is going to beat that. I think people get to caught up on which car is faster and what not. Take a look at the car. Drive it. Sit in it. Maybe a 600bhp Skyline can beat a Ferrari F430 but who cares? No one buys a Ferrari or a TVR just for speed. There is more to it than that.

Anything to do with dragraces and someone always brings up there chaved up skylines. I hate skylines, in the performance car world, looks do account for somehting and yet the skyline looks like vectra with a 2ft wing on the back!!!!!!!

yeah a Old tvr can do it in just over 30 seconds, The Sagaris from tvr is well known to be just as quick if not quicker than the Zo6, and the tvr costs 50k.
