dude, many of those stories are plagerized from folklore many hundreds of years

older than the roots of christianity. for example the Moses story was told by other tribes. The Myans have been talking about the end of a cycle for hundreds of years. 2012 is end of a cycle that lasts thousands of years and starts again. the bible took those stories out of context and added a religious spin to it. those stories are not about gods but about a message and a warning of pending change.
