  • james vocal in this concert is in good shape...best concert....

  • LOL petrucci 5:24 xD

  • @7:25 sounds like its been ripped of some megadeth solo

  • Not a good hairstyle for Jordan lol. Awesome performance of the song, of course. :)

  • As i remember the song was called just The Killing Hand, but what is Another Hand part? Is it a song or what? Or just an intro? Sorry for such a question. I am DT fan, but tell me, what is it?

  • @dennniss100 Charlie Dominici used to play the second guitar in the intro live. James can't play guitar, so they created "Another Hand" which is an intro section to make up for the (beautiful) original intro they cut out :-)

  • Labrie fall on stage

  • HEEE IIIIS RIIIISEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEENNNNNNNN

  • Whoa... killer finale.

  • l'intro di questa canzone mi fa impazzire.

  • *gasp* james fell on 05:03

  • @lsmartin96 OMG, this was just discussed on his forum, haha.

When we asked, he said that he just tripped and got back up eventually. Haha. :)

  • The outro is incredible.

  • XDXDXD Fantastic Performance! And very funny too XDXDXD

  • at 5:02 james had and orgasm he can't believe they are playing this amzing song again...

  • 7:30 - 8:05 f*ckin' orgasmic!!!!!

  • I think what he was about to sing at 5:01 was "Lowered deep onto the stage / Audience points and laughs at James"

  • 2:45 lol

  • 5:26 HAHAHAHA

  • wtf happened at 5:01 ???

  • I liked CHarlie singing, but I like James Labrie the most.

  • Great footage, but the quality of the rip leaves to be desired.

  • at 7:13 where Jordan plays that Operatic piece, is that something he does or is it an actual classical thing/song?

  • @bcrichwarlock123 I'm pretty sure it's something he made up.

  • James is going supersaiyan! 2:16-2:17

  • it's beutifull.... i like it,,,

  • This Anotehr Hand is betetr than the Live at the Marquee version

  • look how long james' hair got here lol. must of cut it a bit shorter after this cause its never been that long.

  • 4:58 & 5:23 HAH!

  • 4:58 HAH!

  • where is john m?! :O

  • @hitl666 on the camerman's left of the stage

  • Explain his fainting plz?

  • Jordan Rudess actually had hair back then?!?!? :O

  • thanks god for let me hear this music!

  • 05:26 LOL. At first i didn't notice it. haha

  • He visto tres veces a Dream Theater en Vivo... y nunca han tocado esta canción? por que será?

  • From where comes this ''Another Hand''?

  • @Firedblood "Another Hand" was developed as a new intro to "The Killing Hand" shortly after James LaBrie joined Dream Theater. While Dominici could play the second guitar part required by the original intro, JLB couldn't, so they changed the intro to something they could play with what they had live. The result was this beautiful intro known as "Another Hand".

  • One of the best of all time , Beautiful music here

  • LOL when LaBrie falls, oh my goodness :p

  • Lo...

  • This may not match the brilliance of the 1992 version or 1993 marquee version, but LaBrie smartly lowers the notes and it still is quite moving. Plus, the ending jam was pretty sweet. It proves that DT can pretty much play whatever and however they want and it'll still be awesome!

  • do they even mic the shaker that James has? I've never been able to hear it haha

  • Intro is an ode to Xanadu

  • simply awesome

  • I think the best version of this song is from When Dream and Day Reunite. I love the Christmas solo towards the second half. It's 12 minutes and it is just epic. Can't get enough of DT. >D

  • @uballer1986 Thanks for the tip, you were indeed right

  • @ForgetaboutFreeman 3 minutes is an intro, not a song silly :P

nah, but the whole song is memorable, you just have to listen to it more than you would to a 3 mnute song simply because there's more to take in

  • 04:42 eargasmic keyboard solo.......

05:02 james labrie falls into infinity

  • All i Gots to say

wow one fuckin great band eh??

    DREA]v[ T]-[EATER<3

  • i don't like this "hairy" version of jordan!!!!!! xD xD xD xD xD!!!!

  • But... Another hand... whose this song is?

  • but unfortunately here in the philippines, we dont have that budget for dt to come here and do a concert

  • @adoy18 mu gd...tga bacolod ka?

  • Man, I could never even hope to stop my Killing Hand...

  • That last part gave me chills... the good ones!

  • You like this? then listen to the 1992 version from the cd "live at the marquee"James in his prime, you will get chills on places you didnt know possible

  • @kevintje82onboard That's true man. His voice on "live at the marquee" version sounds freaking amazing, he adds too much epicness on it.

  • @kevintje82onboard

Only thing that that version is missing is the amazing solo Petrucci does at the end of this version. Its incredible.

But the vocals at the end of the "Live at the Marquee" are insane, especially the "IM IN THE VALLEY!!" part haha

  • @kevintje82onboard that's exactly my favorite of james' performances....

  • @kevintje82onboard Everyone know that Live at The Marquee has vocals recorded in the studio.

  • @DDDekost Why is everyone so keen to make JLB look ridiculous? This man really WAS out of league back in the day. I've saw them live in 2002, in a LESS florisant time and still he was awsome. He, tho aged, still is. All that bullsh!t about him, stop with them nonesense and listen to another band. Leave my favorite singer alone

  • @kevintje82onboard I just said a matter of fact. Life is good.

  • @DDDekost And where did you get this "fact", cuz i'm dying to see it myself

  • @kevintje82onboard Official biography and a lot of Mike Portnoy interviews.

  • @DDDekost Allright, i'm going to find out. If you're right i give my deepest apologies, if you're wrong, i demand one from you, u agree?

  • @kevintje82onboard Hey man, I'm a DT fan. I agree James LaBrie sounded killer during the Images and Words era, but I was just saying you can't use Live at the Marquee as en example for his live performances.

  • @DDDekost Yo lets bury the hatched, cuz with Portnoy gone there are much bigger issues. But altho i must say i have read a lot o info lately. Yes you are right they did massive polishing on the cd due less good recording equipment, but the info i dug up was that Labrie's part was the thing that needed polishing the least. Not important, now most important of DT will continue to exist..... Bury the hatched?

  • @kevintje82onboard correct! James was and still an awesome singer. and his Winter Rose days were the best

  • @deathscythekim729 whats winter rose??

  • @cheeseinc A band James was in before Dream Theater..it's like Glam, Hard-Rock..check it out here in youtube..you might be digging it..James is magnificent and at it's best during his Winter Rose days...

  • @deathscythekim729 I do believe he hit his highest note ever with winter rose as well - a g5 at the end of 'thrill of the night'

  • @MulletMan3108 Thrill of the NIght..and yes..my fave winter rose song..

  • @kevintje82onboard James recorded all the vocals on that "live" CD in the studio.

  • @perpetualjoe This is true. However, he was good enough back then that they could've swapped the vocal track with almost any bootleg and it really wouldn't have made much difference. He did have his off nights, though, of course.

  • I am the killing haaannd.

  • Big Fan here in the Philippines... I totally respect every bit of Dream Theater's Music...such beautifully crafted stuff, you won't have that in todays youth bands..these guys have overflowing talent. just pure RESPECT to them

  • This is what PROGRESSIVE means.. to me..

  • mr.Bila88 i like it...

  • @deathscythekim729 The turning point for me and PROG is "A Change of Seasons" or "In the Name of God." That's when I fell in love with Dream Theater.

  • did you people notice the outro to this one??

    - Carol Of The Bells

  • wow wtf... that sounds a ton like it.

  • Plus the actual song the killing hand starts at 2:35, they just add in the intro live, the song is around 8 minutes long on record

  • 3 minutes? Haha, Dream Theater are far to creative for that, it would be boring if it was repetive which it isnt, just see it as listening to three short songs, and if u cant well then DT arent the band for you

  • hey folks

    pause at 6:34

    hahaha!

    damn funny that frikkin tongue

    gotta love DT and labrie.

  • For you maybe - but, It's different for everyone. I personally enjoy everything instrumental that these dweebs come up with

  • Fair enough, but how about justifying your comments on the music next time rather than commenting on nationality.

  • Thats funny as we very rarely use the word "ass" and see it as quite a typical American term. Plus within Britain peoples cultures differ alot from country to country so predicting i am British is a very vague assumption.

  • Maybe for your mainstream ass, this is prog so fuck off

  • Can you say rush influence out the ass =]

  • 7:07 so awesome !

  • 0:42 kickass solo!!!

    0:52 JLB falls on stage!!!

  • i wish the another hand part existed in studio :/ it's such a beautifull part!

  • Me too my friend...

And I wish THIS intro guitar solo was the original.. I preffer it than the original !

  • I had an heart attack when Labrie going down !! Believing that he had an heart attack !! I cried, please dont do that again, i have lot of sensibility (im french)

  • dude, don't be so hard on yourself! You're not french! Thats such an ugly thing to say.

  • haha that made me laugh harder than when JLB fell over. LOL.

  • hahaha, labrie fell over XD

  • Wow Megadeth totally stole the riff at 2:37 in their song Holy Wars.

Holy Wars was realeased almost a year after The Killing Hand was made, just noticed that.

This song is amazing, sounds better with LaBrie than Dominici, better voice.

  • Did John Petrucci sit/lay down on purpose or did he fall as well?

  • Nice performance!

  • Nice recovery by James after that fall!

  • Cause it was an old comment barely anyone read, just let it die there, I don't like getting emails from people who misread what I say, especially about that kind of comments I don't even know why I wrote.

  • Just forget it, i'll delete all my comments but this one in this video, they're a waste of space. Sorry.

  • Great song I love it

  • Descending scarlet

    Cuts the skyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy

One of my favorite JLB moments : )

  • The solo around 8:30 is just so ELP and sublime.

  • yes,it sounded quite similar to "stones of years" hammond style

  • this is awesome! labrie sings like diamond and when he fell down he just got back up and sang awsomely

  • good performance...john sitted down after james's falling....he 's probably kiddin' him...lol

  • I love the way this is shot. Awesome vid.

  • wow....i am pretty sure that they ended this song (well, at 9:40 anyway) with a theme from an old NES game that game out in the 80s called Shadowgate :o. I had no idea that they were big nintendo buffs :P

  • carol of the bells is the name of the song

  • They added that section during a show around Christmas time on the Falling into Infinity tour IIRC. It's supposed to be a nod to Carol of the Bells. But I also hear the Shadowgate similarity, too :)

  • Yes that's exactly what I thought! It's the music that's played after you've been killed and the Grim Reaper appears.

  • was it a part of a broken stick that flew away from mike at 2:45??

  • Mike spat.

  • ok... looks like a chewing gum or else...

you must know, I'm German and the word SPAT means a kind of horse-ailment :D

  • wonderful

  • lol the whole falling thing first James, then John, thats when John is like "comon portnoy its not that hard to play drums while your on your back" haha

  • Hang on. This looks like a live DVD from the sdoit world tour. Definitly professionally done. Was it ever released...I don't recal ever seeing a DVD for sdoit

  • It's an official bootleg, from Bucharest, Romania, 2002. You can buy it on ebay...

  • i have an explanation for the fall! John Petrucci played so fast at 7:50, he actually went back in time and knocked james down at 5:03! It all makes sense now!

  • New Theory: John Myung's stealth tackle.

  • the beginning is...wow...one of the greatest I ever heard in rock/metal

  • I can only imagine a large cartoonish banana peel strategically placed at the center of the stage XD

  • lmao 5:25 Petrucci Mocking LaBrie!

  • 5:03

    WTF?

  • omg that part where he falls is just classic

  • hi kyle!

  • Comment removed

  • james falling reminded me of the movie rockstar

  • man those sweeping parts at 7:50 .. awesome

  • I love the keyboard sound on 3:13 it remind me deep purple..

  • that carol of the bells bit is awesome as

  • this concert wasnt a very good night for JLB, but he does VERY well on this song

  • you should hear live at marquee of this song! You'd like it if you like this song.

  • Comment removed

  • The accoustic intro is miles better then that!!

  • The first 2:40 of this video are golden.

    Love that shit.

  • man, i just laughed my ass of when i saw Petrucci lay down xD

  • Petrucci makes fun of him after Labrie falls. Please watch before you comment ^.-.

  • hahaha so he does.

Plays quite well considering hes lying down

  • i doubt he was making fun of him, he was probably trying to help him out by making it seem like the fall was intentional.

  • yeah probably petrucci's cool like that

  • I think that Petrucci layed down too just to joke with James a little.

  • The last great year for James Labrie :( And if you disagree with me give me a thumbs down it wont change the truth.

  • Im not giving you a thumbs down but Labrie was flawless on Score and in 2008 he has been up and down, Ive seen 2 live shows in 2008, in 1 he was amazing, in the other he was even dragging the band down. He is still trying very hard and can still only improve

  • I agree with DTismajesty. Score was perfect and Chaos was... well a little iffy. He can still pull off another score he just has off nights.

  • it won't change for you

Because I was at Score Tour, and LaBrie are just better then always, shutting up those who says things like that ^^

  • in the end they play "carol of the bell"!!...wo amazing...

And when labrie falls, and then petrucci falls too?? ahahah so nice XD

  • 5:04 ->Labrie has demonstrated us he really lives his music XD

One thing i don't like much is that nobody goes to help him...

  • HAHAHAHAHA! James LaBrie falls on stage!! LOL

    at 5:02

  • looks like The Killing Hand struck again...

  • He IS the Killing Hand. :D

  • They're playing the older live version of the song. WOW! I've been a fan since 95 and they still amaze me.

  • JLB action figure

  • sounds like pink floyd abit afte solo, prettybadass

  • been after the title of this song since i cant remember!! haaaa now i found it.superb song!

  • great song,great band,great singer still

    ps: portnoy is god

  • one of the best shows of DT history in my opinion... i loved this era , after this...i think they changed a bit of direction, but they are the masters!!

  • 5:04

    best part of the song

    i love that vocals

    xdxd
