Why does no on know about this? Everyone talks about planes and cars being evil.. when the destruction of our rainforests account for 17% of all global Greenhouse gas emissions - far more than the global transport system.

I'm absolutely sure that prince Charles is serious about this matter and nevertheless he was born into royalty and did not chose it himself (and I don't think life has been easy on him!). Be optimistic and positive instead of always searching for the negative things. The video is great! Thank you!

Look, right, do we really wan't to preserve the rainforests? If so we should be serious about the economical society that creates the conditions that cause enviromental damage. We live in a world were a minority own the means of productions and we (the majority) have to work for them. Is Prince Charles serious about addressing this issue? I mean, does it not seem strange that although most people are concerned about environmental damage, it is impossible to effect any real change.

it is not a case of do we want to. its a case of that we NEED to. the hasards implemented by deforestation transend: Nation, Race, Class and Gender boundries. so there is a human neccessity to act to stop deforestation...or do you want to be remembered as the generation who sat back and let it happen?

Be fair, the Prince of Wales has spent most of his life trying to improve everything for everyone. Yes, he was born into wealth but compared to many of the World's rich he is way down the pay scale. He is quite rightly worried about how man is destroying our planet and is using his position to make a comment. I salute him for it and I'm glad that he keeps pressing his thoughts home.

Well done St James's for taking the initiative. Convention rightly dictates that HRH cannot become involved in politics - and currently, who would want to? - so I can think of no more worthwhile activity for HRH than to use his time and profile to raise awareness of climate change, and of the travesty that is tropical deforestation. We cannot afford during the recession to take our eye off the ball: it may have become trite, but our grandchildren really would never understand or forgive us.
