  • I remember Uncle Herbert (Herbert M. Dawley) as a small boy. (he is the man with the pipe) He was always telling the best stories. Brilliant humble man that had worked for Pierce Arrow. There is so much he did, you could write a book. Loved his art work too. Thank you for posting this movie. It brings back the Dinosaur stories.

  • You all seem to be forgetting the Mad Dick!!

  • The guy that plays Uncle Jack...is that Edgar Rice Burroughs?

  • Cryptozoology novel see video book trailer

  • At the weekends we'd go to uncle Jack's house to see his 'special telescope'. "If you pull on it, it'll get bigger" said uncle. As a special treat, I was allowed to get nekkid so he could pretend I was a faun. Good old uncle Jack, I'll never understand why social services took him away.

  • Rotten Shames: Uncle Willis robbed of his "Beast of Hollow Mountain" project and "War Eagles" was never made... ( * S I G H * ) at least Cousin Ray made "GWANGI"!!

  • @pylgrym War Ealges got a novel and comic series, and both it and Kong: King of Skull Island were optioned by... some company. So, we might see it one day.

  • this is a good silent movie tomitstube!

  • wtf!? "i tried to persuade joe to remove his clothes and pose like a faun"??!! didn't they use this in broke back mountain? reckon ole mad dick dinnt have no kin folk. nice place though. i knew it, "queer looking instrument".

nice lighting when "the voice" comes in. i thought it was night, but he reaches the cabin in daylight.

oops, looks like the dinosaurs are in part two, can't wait, it's my first time.

  • O'Brien was a genius who transformed fantasy cinema; it's a shame he had so much personal tragedy in his private life.

  • O'Brian was the best!

  • I was both surprised and excited to find this. Thank you. 5 stars.

  • The film isn't completely lost, this is just the surviving parts. Still, a very rare find.

  • This is a lightweight mystery/adventure from 1919. I believe it was O'Brien's first "serious" film. It was a big success in its time.

  • Are you kidding me? HOW ON EARTH DID YOU MANAGE TO FIND AND UPLOAD THIS?!?!?! YOU'RE MY NEW HERO, THANKS A BUNCH FOR THIS!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • It was on TCM

  • Is it just me or did these peoplecome up with some weird names.

  • Ya how did you get this, if anyone is interested I'm writing a song about it. Willis O'Brien was basically the Brian Wilson of his time. He was also pretty much undiscovered.

  • Thanks to umpload!!!!!!!!!

  • Awesome. Thank you.

  • Nice upload. I can't to see part 2.

  • My god, I thought this was a lost film! How did you come across it?
