I have never felt this connected to a singer. But since I knew him from AI7, I know about him bit by bit, how he tried to follow his dream, n he went for it. He showed to people that nothing is impossible. He's passionate, sweet and a nice person inside out. I dont see him as a celebrity who typically is a cocky high level person, he's so down to earth and still acts like a normal person. All he knows he wants to sing coz he loves it.

I listen to his early version of SSB,(the best I've ever heard), God Bless America, A Moment Like This(prefer it over Kelly's),and "Imagine" done at 13 every single day. It makes my long commute to work seem like the shortest drive ever.

I'm the oldest person here (55+) and have been a pop music fanatic my entire life.Believe me when I say that David is the best male singer I have ever heard, and he elicits the most emotional response from an audience ever. Wow, I've never heard anyone mention David Archuleta and Sam Cooke together before. When I first heard David and his runs and how he improvises I thought of Sam Cooke and the feel he had for the music. They are certainly different but yet there is also something reminiscent of Sam Cooke's vocalizations in David's. Sam Cooke was a singer and stylist of the first order, but had years of being in a group before going out on his own. David has had none of those advantages, and made his mark in the pressure cooker called American Idol. The tour is helping him hone his performance skills, and it shows already. I so agree. I think that his soul is just filled with music. I don't know how he does what he does with so little exposure to the whole universe of music that is out there. He has only been to three concerts he said in an interview! He said he loves when he connects to someone who is singing and that is what he wants to do, connect with the people who listen to him. He so feels what he is singing and I have never heard anyone so young be able to do that plus his voice is absolutely incredible

I was just listening to Sam Cooke the other day and I was struck by how much David's style reminded me of his style, with the way they both perform the improvisational runs when they sing. I just watched Jason Castro's version of "Crazy" (actually I saw him perform it in Sacramento), and it doesn't even sound like the same song. I love Jason, and I realize he has a completely different style than David's, but honestly, David is in a completely different league than Jason. Just listen to David's nuanced phrasing, the soulful vibe he brings to the song, the rich, textured quality of his voice. Jason does a good cover, but David brings this song to life! I saw an interview with him done on July 15, and he seemed pretty tired and a little stressed out. I'm sure all of the idols are run pretty ragged with all of the performning, the meet and greets, and all of the press obligations.I feel very maternal toward David and can't help feeling he is more vulnerable to the effects of touring. Without intending to do so,David has issued a challenge to men of all ages to rethink the way they act and the way they relate to people,especially women. Great comments. Re: teen males - I have one, use to grunt at me before disappearing into his room. I took him to Idol live concert - and the kid held my hand during WYSYLM. Now greets me with Hi Mom, says I love you, does chores without a fuss, etc. When I asked him what's up he said "I've been Archiefied" just don't tell his friends. I guess this shows the two sides of the coin with the young male factor.

I hope his record label appreciates the wide fan base he has.
