  • BURBANK IS A HECK OF ALOT BETTER YOU ****

  • Some quick history: Burbank, like many of the smaller feeder airports SWA uses, were built in the early-mid 20th century, usually as off-shoots of being army air fields in WW1/2 or plane production/testing facilities as the burbank field was for Hughes Aircraft. Ive flown into both BUR and Long Beach, which has a similar setup, and find these "off/on"boarding a refreshing change from the "jet bridge" you see at most airports these days..

  • Burbank? Where is this Burbank you speak of? XD

  • Love everything about landing on 8 at BUR. First time was back in 2001, Maddog slammed the brakes! Loved it!!!

  • typical rwy 8 landing.

  • Do you feel earthquakes here in California?

  • bitch! if its a garbage heap then wtf u doin flying there? u freakin idiot! thats my local airport and i like it! y didnt u just fly ur ass to LAX? or is it a garbage heap 2?

  • You've obviously misplaced your sarcasm detector. They're conveniently available at WalMart for the low, low price of $299.99.

  • @SYLMARFB12 LAX is awsome but tbh i've never herd of Burbank

  • @SYLMARFB12 Bob Hope Airport is a garbage heap. And so is LAX.

  • he landed perfect timing, i flew my piper cherokee into there landed same spot

  • well, lol, that 737 is going to need a hella lot more room to stop than your cherokee

  • hahs true, but there thrust reversers are good enough. some runways u dont need thrust reverse or spoiler (speedbrakes) i know and have seen it.

  • @dylanhelmer Actually, pilots always use their spoilers, that's if the plane they're flying has spoilers. However, the only time they don't need reverse thrust is if the runway's long enough where they can slow down quick enough without it, but they still always have to use their spoilers.

  • Pretty cool

  • im going to burbank today!

  • Actually the pilot did not overshoot the TDZ markings. The big rectangular white markings are the aiming point, not the touchdown zone markings

  • The last time I flew into Burbank was in 2004. It's not really a bad airport.

  • I want to fly into BUR just to see what it's like... short runway

  • The pilot did not miss the TDZ and did not land on all gears. not a bad landing if you ask me.... but not the greatest I've seen either.

  • How was the interior and quality of SWA?

  • Hey, my home airport is NOT a "convenient garbage heap"! I'd kill to work there, especially for Southwest!

  • i flew there!!!!cheers!!!!

  • How was it when you were boarding and de-planing? I am flying soon and I think the only way is too walk up stairs up the airplane? Neat huh :)

How about checking-in? is it like a crummy airport, or is it decent, or awesome?

  • Yeah, Burbank is too small to use jetways, so you get to board the plane old-school using the stairs. Definitely neat! :) That's also one of the reasons I like landing there because having stairs means you also get to exit at the rear of the plane.

BUR is a decent airport overall. Then again I've never been to an airport I didn't like so maybe someone else can answer that!

As for your other post, aside from my fangirl opinion Southwest has nice, clean interiors and AWESOME quality. Enjoy!

  • stairs, and a decent airport its 1 floor and pretty simple, youl like it

  • Wow!! 787th View!!

    Can't wait for that dreamliner.

    Southwest Rules!!

  • looked like typical runway 8 landing to me. no worse than usual
