is it ok to use the shoes in some activities that will for sure make the shoes bend like bboying (breakdancing) or is it not coz the paint will wear off, and where can i get the dye pens
@sweetpotatoe : acrylic looks nice but its not as durable as fabric dye. i ocassionally use acrylics if I want a light color to really pop on a darker color base shoe, but I've never used acrylic paint alone. it just wouldn't last. btw- just to be clear, im not using regular makers. they are fabric dye markers.
@intinhional your a dumb ass why would you ask what markers he uses he says it in the vid just like he told you lol...nice work do you paint air forces?
Hi I'm a female DJ in Albuquerque NM. If I were to send you a pair of vans with the artwork I need on them would you be willing to do it?? I will pay as much as I need too.(:
what if i wanted to use a black pair of vans, would the dye pens work on black or would i have to use a white dye first? if so is there a white dye pen i could use?
@supersizethosefries man did you watch the video? read the thought bubbles;) they are cool shoes and the fabric mate pens are not too expensive and they can be found at most craft or fabric stores.
where can i get reasonably priced shoes? i'm a teacher and i was thinking about doing this as a project with my students to express their ideas to something they would wear other than a shirt.
@louiegong mahalo louie for being inspirational! my kids are gonna love it! especially coming from an indigenous peoples background. my kids are mostly Hawaiian and they struggle to make an identity for themselves in this day and age.
for sure. but i'm having a bit of trouble finding reasonably priced shoes to purchase for the kids. i have a range of students who sometimes don't have the funds to purchase shoes, so a lot of it comes out of my pocket. i'm trying to email some manufacturers in china to see if i can get it cheap...so far...not so good. but i have faith. gonna keep trying. hey if ur every in Hawaii, let me know. i'd love to have u as a guest speaker!
thanks, i just made a pair of vans yesterday and they look awesome but my soles were a little smudgy from the fabric pens and after i watched your vid i tried the eraser thing and it works really well.............great tips thanks
Definitely inspirational! Thanks for sharing your hard-earned knowledge with your fan base and encouraging people to explore their own identities through shoe art. :)
You are so generous in sharing your "trade secrets". You are just as amazing as the shoes. This is something youth from all cultures can benefit from. thanks!

I have a question!
1. If I were to erase some of the dye from my design, ex. making a line thinner, do I wait until the paint is dried or I can just erase right away?
thanks!
