It was a very bad idea for Google to cull their services en masse to dedicate all their resources to this service. It was suicidal to base the entire thing off G+. Facebook's growth was entirely organic as opposed to G+ who have been relying on investing money on tv advertising, celebrity endorsements etc. That is exactly why it will fail and may put Google in a very bad position in the future.

It was a very bad idea for Google to cull their services en masse to dedicate all their resources to this service. It was suicidal to base the entire thing off G+. Facebook's growth was entirely organic as opposed to G+ who have been relying on investing money on tv advertising, celebrity endorsements etc. That is exactly why it will fail and may put Google in a very bad position in the future.
