looks like jackie-o & her minnie me!!! god i remember that train!!!! the best of memoriies & that magical tilley face with his magnificent grin !!!!!!!!
Great video memory - not only for your family, but for what Asbury Park NJ once was - a family resort on the Jersey Shore. Thanks for sharing that film.
I like to think I am in this video. I was 6 in 1969, but I have no memory of any amusement rides there. I lived just a couple miles away and went to Avon and Bradley Beach. It would be interesting if I was one of those little kiddos in the vid. The mother dressed in BRIGHT yellow......my momma had an outfit just like it.
The quality is even much better than that. It lost something in the upload. I transferred it myself from the original 8mm with a professional 3 chip camera.
Excellent video - I have never seen film of the 3'rd Avenue Park before, aka, Bob Fountain's Bubble Land and or Oceanic Park - Lets see, crowded boardwalk, dressed nicely, looking a bit cold - I say the boardwalk scenes were all filmed on an Easter Sunday.
I have uploaded a higher quality version. See the link above.

Look at the heavy coats everyone is wearing in that clip. Imagine that many people on the boardwalk that early in the year.

this is great, and boy does it bring back memories. I spent tons of time with my family on the boards, here.

I don't know if we would have made this trip specifically on Easter Sunday, but yes it was around Easter.
