@SicilyJoel why get an esp when i have 2 gibson les pauls...a 335,and other mutt type strats. that would be like trading a ferrari in for a toyota truck.
Thanks for a clear understand of how to fast pick, I don't normally play metal but I notice a lot of the more skilled classic rock players use this method.
I've been playing for years and never got trem picking. I watched your vid and one of Dallas from Nile and realised it was just the hand position. 3 fucking years I've been scratching my head on this and it just clicked. Nice one man.
@JEKAZOL glad i could help man..the same thing happened to me too. Shoot me a private message and i can send some stuff that will really help develop your picking hand. The trick now from here is to figure out a bunch of different riffs that you can use this on.....
Nice lesson. I like your guitar too. Could you post a lesson on like, death metal and hardcore whenever you get the chance to? Thanks. I didn't think a hollow-body guitar could handle metal. I got a Cruzer Crafter strat and that handles metal pretty well too surprisingly. I mostly play on my Dean, Jackson, and Schecter guitars though. I like the Dean guitar the best. ;o
@7Stringerstinger hey man it was epiphone sheraton. I dont use it that much anymore. Gain sounds really good on it depending on what you use. if this were a live club gig recording you would hear all of the feedback that comes from it though. otherwise its really good. i see people play blues on it but never metal. Slap in some new pickups and you have sleeper guitar that no one is going to see coming...
That was kind of interesting to hear thrash metal rhythm guitar played on what appears to be a Gibson semi-hollowbody guitar. I would have opted for a solidbody, but hey, to each their own.
By the way, just because I may have misunderstood you, when you said down a half step, you went *up* a half step. I like that lick though. What guage strings do you use? .49s, or a custom one.
@Wellwellwellwell1 i dont use this guitar anymore...but i had a set of ghs boomers on this guitar. On my les paul i use hybrid slinkys. Good ear for catching the error too.
@Erick123M this was during the time i was using dunlop ultex jazz 3 picks. really good for metal and they dont wear out fast. Normally though...the dunlop big stubby picks are what i use...just find the thickest ones they make and thats what i have
Holy shit bro thats sick and you're black on top of that you're a bad ass motherfucker bro, props to you, you got my respect man * kneels before you *
wat the hell tuning r u in??? not haten or any shit man, just suggesting drop C or drop D, they give the heaviest licks and they're real easy to play unlike metallica
@LifexInxChains just standard tuning man. Either that or E flat for me. I use drop tuning depending on the guitar im using at the moment. Drop D is okay..drop C? Never.
I know its hard to believe but yes i dont use drop C much. Only when i feel its right for what i wanna do at the time. I love the sound of it but i feel its limiting to me and all the shit i do on the instrument. Also most have no idea about there own guitars. Im tired of seeing douchebags trying to put fenders into drop C at guitar center. If drop c is your thing....make sure you get your guitar intonated for it.
@MrGoneHollywood Well if that was a personal thing I have the Ibanez mtm2 (mick thomson slipknot signature) and it is made for detuning. And how is Drop C limiting? Maybe try C standard?
@MrGoneHollywood Yeah trust me, I know all about my guitar. I own an Ibanez MTM2, specifically made for drop tunings. I prob no more about intonation on all of my guitars then you do about your own dick.
@macaframa.... here's where you fucked up kiddie....1)you rave about owning a mid-level guitar that sucks ass. 2) 99% percent of the time you play in c or d standard? Do you even know the potential of your instrument? 3) you just told someone who repairs guitar as a JOB that i dont know about intonation. I get paid for my work fucktard! And for a bonus you just told a black guy that he has no knowlege of his own dick...really! lmao. I truly hope you die soon...one can only hope
@thekcor Im not saying it HAS to be, read my comment and make sense of that. But i dont know of many extreme metal players who refuse to play in C....considering thats what most "extreme" metal bands play in, or lower.
@macaframa12 Only shitty core bands use drop C. EXTREME bands play in like G standard or G# standard. Even D standard like Chuck. But drop tunings make chords sound retarded because of the tension difference in strings...... REAL guitar players can make something sound EXTREME with a standard tuning.
@ilovestinalots dude, you have absolutely no idea what your talking about...and your an idiot...and i dont listen to "core" so fuck you retard. HA name these bands who play in G standard and G #.
@ilovestinalots Oh and by the way fagboy, when i play, 99% of the time I play in C or D standard. Never once in a comment did i say "omg i only use drop c"
Can I suggest that you skip the video about fixing a guitar neck, as useful as that might be there's plenty of videos on youtube showing how to do that.
I think pinch harmonics would be a good one to do a lesson on.
lol this is so ironic cuz youre playing this through a semi hollow body guitar :p

@macaframa12
why does Drop C have to be used for Extreme metal?
i play in Standard and D Standard and i can play extreme metal just fine.
the only times i really use drop C is if i want a deep death metal tone.
Black metal is extreme too
