  • lol this is so ironic cuz youre playing this through a semi hollow body guitar :p

  • 335 can handle the metal !

  • WE DON'T WANT THAT SHIT

  • thanks bro i needed this lesson! cuz right now im still doin "terrible shit" lol keep them coming they are much appreciated.

  • im not racist at all, but, i forgot you were black looking till the end of the vid!

  • Excuse my incoherency, for I'm just excited seeing another black find interest for the music.

    DIE! And live honorable

    and BY THE SWORD

  • Like the video thanks man.

Just an obvious blunder your moving up the neck to an A#/Bb. Down the neck would be to an Ab/G#. Keep it up brother. you people (yes you people (half the people are know are black) need to get more into metal cause I know u soul brothers (lol) can be relentless warriors too. Those hip hop backtrack beats are top shit, so i know you hip-hop"buster's" (lol) can stick some make some war music like your ancestors. 'Step out of the cllubb'cough a growl, belch out you're h

  • @SicilyJoel why get an esp when i have 2 gibson les pauls...a 335,and other mutt type strats. that would be like trading a ferrari in for a toyota truck.

  • @MrGoneHollywood Toyotas run forever. And an oil change isn't 20 grand. :)

  • keep up the good work

  • Your "Terrible shit" Example made me laugh so fucking hard lmao. Brilliant tutorial

  • Im one of that guys that just can't play guitar... I tried it for 4 years and I practice everyday, but I can't play one thing

  • LOL using a semi hollow for heavy riffs. btw. defintely some terror/hatebreed style material. good to see another minority ripping it :)

  • seeen you stuff before , did you delete some of your older stuff , all epic in any case. you teach me sir :-)

  • I've watched dozens of videos on youtube of people trying to teach metal rhythm but this been the most helpful by far, thanks.

  • how come gangstaz play death metal? :D

  • hahah metal on a hollowbody

  • death metal with an archtop? Nice vid btw.

  • oh sh*t!!! i thought for a second that you were denzel washington LMFAO

  • Thanks for a clear understand of how to fast pick, I don't normally play metal but I notice a lot of the more skilled classic rock players use this method.

  • could you make tabs for this awesome song thanks!

  • we don't want that shit we want a good shit:))) i just love this shit:)))

  • "meant to scare old people"

That really hits me where I live. This stuff kicks ass!

  • Isn't it a bad thing to play with the arm ? I mean, I've read it hurts and it's better to play with the wrist?

  • wow thats the first time I've seen someone play metal on a hollow-body.

  • I dunno why there aren't more black dudes in metal, they make badass guitarists: Animals as Leaders and Suffocation to be precise lol

  • NIGGA POWER !!!

Im black and i love you dude ;D

  • Very nice guitar! :)

  • Song at the end?

  • MAKE MORE VIDEOS

  • tnx man!

  • one thing, dont ever say soldier again...other than that good video

  • A black guy who plays metal?? Keep rocking man!

  • Comment removed

  • Can someone help me with 16th notes? I can get them down about 70% of the time but its frusterating missing one in the middle of a song.

  • how do you pick that fast with your right hand?

  • What I love is that you're playing a hollowbody.

  • Who the fuck would dislike this video!?...KKK members...

  • I've been playing for years and never got trem picking. I watched your vid and one of Dallas from Nile and realised it was just the hand position. 3 fucking years I've been scratching my head on this and it just clicked. Nice one man.

  • @JEKAZOL glad i could help man..the same thing happened to me too. Shoot me a private message and i can send some stuff that will really help develop your picking hand. The trick now from here is to figure out a bunch of different riffs that you can use this on.....

  • your the shit bro!

  • THAT GUITAR IS TOO FUCKING METAL!!!!!

  • Nice lesson. I like your guitar too. Could you post a lesson on like, death metal and hardcore whenever you get the chance to? Thanks. I didn't think a hollow-body guitar could handle metal. I got a Cruzer Crafter strat and that handles metal pretty well too surprisingly. I mostly play on my Dean, Jackson, and Schecter guitars though. I like the Dean guitar the best. ;o

  • Heavy Metal on a hollow-body. Epic

  • @7Stringerstinger hey man it was epiphone sheraton. I dont use it that much anymore. Gain sounds really good on it depending on what you use. if this were a live club gig recording you would hear all of the feedback that comes from it though. otherwise its really good. i see people play blues on it but never metal. Slap in some new pickups and you have sleeper guitar that no one is going to see coming...

  • That was kind of interesting to hear thrash metal rhythm guitar played on what appears to be a Gibson semi-hollowbody guitar. I would have opted for a solidbody, but hey, to each their own.

  • By the way, just because I may have misunderstood you, when you said down a half step, you went *up* a half step. I like that lick though. What guage strings do you use? .49s, or a custom one.

  • @Wellwellwellwell1 i dont use this guitar anymore...but i had a set of ghs boomers on this guitar. On my les paul i use hybrid slinkys. Good ear for catching the error too.

  • E flat FTW

  • @lilticklez i'll join the E-flat club anyday haha

  • hahaha we want good shit not bad shit. LMFAO

  • Thats cool. What kinda gauge of guitar pick are you using?

  • @Erick123M this was during the time i was using dunlop ultex jazz 3 picks. really good for metal and they dont wear out fast. Normally though...the dunlop big stubby picks are what i use...just find the thickest ones they make and thats what i have

  • @MrGoneHollywood i usually use lightbor medium size pics

  • do you only use your wrist?

  • the best guitar teacher ever!!! and he's black so i give him all my respect!!!

  • very nice guitar you have there

  • Holy shit bro thats sick and you're black on top of that you're a bad ass motherfucker bro, props to you, you got my respect man * kneels before you *

  • Is cool that you're playing some heavy shit on a semi hollow body. I think that the semi hollow body is the best guitar (next to a Strat).

By the way excellent tremelo picking!

  • may i suggest a tone port? the string sound isn't sexy. but nice sounds.

P.S. im a black metalist also.

  • we want good shit ha ha ha ha

  • @drummerkid4ever yeah its my favorite parts too...ran out of words and usually when that happens cuss words start flying hahaha

  • @MrGoneHollywood its how we all are these days, helpful vid, thanks.

  • you need a fade.

  • wat the hell tuning r u in??? not haten or any shit man, just suggesting drop C or drop D, they give the heaviest licks and they're real easy to play unlike metallica

  • @LifexInxChains just standard tuning man. Either that or E flat for me. I use drop tuning depending on the guitar im using at the moment. Drop D is okay..drop C? Never.

  • @MrGoneHollywood Drop C never?? your gonna play fuckin EXTREME metal and you never use drop c lol...

  • I know its hard to believe but yes i dont use drop C much. Only when i feel its right for what i wanna do at the time. I love the sound of it but i feel its limiting to me and all the shit i do on the instrument. Also most have no idea about there own guitars. Im tired of seeing douchebags trying to put fenders into drop C at guitar center. If drop c is your thing....make sure you get your guitar intonated for it.

  • @MrGoneHollywood Well if that was a personal thing I have the Ibanez mtm2 (mick thomson slipknot signature) and it is made for detuning. And how is Drop C limiting? Maybe try C standard?

  • @MrGoneHollywood Yeah trust me, I know all about my guitar. I own an Ibanez MTM2, specifically made for drop tunings. I prob no more about intonation on all of my guitars then you do about your own dick.

  • @macaframa.... here's where you fucked up kiddie....1)you rave about owning a mid-level guitar that sucks ass. 2) 99% percent of the time you play in c or d standard? Do you even know the potential of your instrument? 3) you just told someone who repairs guitar as a JOB that i dont know about intonation. I get paid for my work fucktard! And for a bonus you just told a black guy that he has no knowlege of his own dick...really! lmao. I truly hope you die soon...one can only hope

  • @macaframa12

why does Drop C have to be used for Extreme metal?

i play in Standard and D Standard and i can play extreme metal just fine.

the only times i really use drop C is if i want a deep death metal tone.

    Black metal is extreme too

  • @thekcor Im not saying it HAS to be, read my comment and make sense of that. But i dont know of many extreme metal players who refuse to play in C....considering thats what most "extreme" metal bands play in, or lower.

  • @macaframa12

yet some that play lower than C sound like utter crap and label themselves as "Extreme" metal.

    i personally prefer higher tunings

  • @macaframa12 Only shitty core bands use drop C. EXTREME bands play in like G standard or G# standard. Even D standard like Chuck. But drop tunings make chords sound retarded because of the tension difference in strings...... REAL guitar players can make something sound EXTREME with a standard tuning.

  • @ilovestinalots dude, you have absolutely no idea what your talking about...and your an idiot...and i dont listen to "core" so fuck you retard. HA name these bands who play in G standard and G #.

  • @ilovestinalots Oh and by the way fagboy, when i play, 99% of the time I play in C or D standard. Never once in a comment did i say "omg i only use drop c"

  • @ilovestinalots so lamb of god, system of a down, chimaira and the faceless are "shitty core" bands ? when did guitar tunings make or break a band ?

  • @LifexInxChains metallica is really easy to play actually

  • "and you get alot of dat shit, we dont want dat shit, we want some good shit, hard" hahahahahahhahaha

  • you a good guitarist , respect , take a look of some of my stuff , my early stuff is rubish though :-)

  • great video!

  • can any one direct me to a website where i can make my own tabs?..

  • @pezilla123 Just get guitar pro

  • guitar pro dude

  • U got skills to be playing metal on that type of guitar, nice job..

  • LOL

metal on that kind of old fashioned guitar, thats a first :P

  • @twalsh90 nah, not really lol. very good video though.

  • insane right hand speed

  • awesome man!! great job with all your vids. subscribed.

  • great video! can you later on do some lessons on how to palm mute really fast all down stroke (like master of puppets) and alternating?

  • Great Video man.

This is something I need to work on.

Can I suggest that you skip the video about fixing a guitar neck, as useful as that might be there's plenty of videos on youtube showing how to do that.

I think pinch harmonics would be a good one to do a lesson on.

  • is that a metronome i hear?

    good sir!

i think this is the first time i've seen metal on an ES-335 or shape body style. nice

  • how you do that fast picking? D:

  • im doing a video on that exact topic..stay tuned

  • great stuff, can't wait for more lessons

  • awesome lesson crazy good picking

  • im not even done editing it yet lol wow! Thanks for checking me out ....be sure to subscribe
