  • Anyway is far better than CPC version

  • i played it on zx spectrum 128k, it was scary and tough game to play i was 7, now 27 :(

  • Zombies farted when the died and Spectrum was awesome.

  • i dont give a nats left testicle for graphics. Spectrum had playability screaming from every orifice.

  • looooool @ 1:25

  • That sound is the sound of God.

  • I love the Chameleon-effect, hehe.

  • Actualy looks and seem to play better than the C64 and CPC's ports lol

  • @Corad4, C=64 is actually much more colorful and has a nice soundtrack as well. I gotta say it's very playable as well.

  • Respect to the ones that were actually able to develop ANYTHING on this crappy machine.

  • When he fires a spear it sounds like a fart :S

  • why did zx games have such crappy sound effects?

  • because spectrum(48k version) hasn't a sound chip but a beeper

  • No it wasn't, the Speccy was the Xbox 0f the 80s, and the shite unprogrammable brick that was the C64 was the Playstation.

  • get real it was shit same as the 360 is nowdays

  • You FAIL so hard it's not even funny, GTFO back to your Sony Brickstation and crappy ass games, prick.

  • go fuck yourself arsewipe i dont have a ps3 you fucking prick

  • Oh look at that! I taught IT a new word! Go away little child.

  • @RichXbox360 unprogrammable brick? Try Edge of Disgrace from Booze Designs to see what this unprogrammable brick is capable to. Or Mayhem in Monsterland, Turrican 1-2, Turbo Charge, Last Ninja series, Retrograde etc... There are so many fine programmed games on the C=64, so your comment fails! Btw, the C=64 was designed for videogames.

  • love that game but sounds like fart

  • I never closed the game on the ZX Spectrum ...

    Frustration

  • it's a hard game then and now

  • I HAD BROKEN 2 JOYSTICKS ON THIS GAME @ MY NERVES TOO BEFORE I FINISHED IT. on the other hand most spectrum games just kill you in good play for a not so much rewarding end.

    Great play still.

  • this farting noise is annoying

  • i played this back in the day until my spectrum tape wared out... total awesome when you think it was 48k game....

  • yeah, it's incredible what programmers made

  • great the speccy

  • I always feared those zombies, when i was young

  • it's a bit too difficult as well compared to other versions

  • this was a good version of the game, it kept the whole feel and playability of ghosts and goblins but just didn't have the visuals and sound

  • yeah, it's not a bad version but sometimes i miss some foes you play at coin-op

  • It sounds like someone's farting when you kill an enemy.

  • i didn't think about :-)

  • Quick tune that volume so it loads...how I don't miss games not loading LOL

  • why dont they make a spectrum hand held portable machine with all the games built in..would make millions

  • i think last christmas, someone started to sell a 80's joystick with c64 and games built-in

  • it would only be good for nostalgia purposes, unless the customers were 80's gen, no one would bother.

  • c64 version own this n00bs ;p

  • ive had the c64 version and itsnot as good as the speccy, however, ghouls and ghosts was very goon with brilliant music

  • Are you on crack!? I too had the C64 version and it shat all over this mess!

  • no it didn't believe me, it didn't!

  • I'm not getting into this any further. I too played both versions back in the day, this spectrum version is terrible - even the level layouts are wrong!

You speccy owners always were a deluded bunch...

  • never be a games reviewer, I was a speccy, c64, mastersystem, megadrive, ST, snes, jaguar, psx, dreamcast owner, I have played both versions and you are wronger than mr wrong who got out on the wrong side of the bed when something was wrong!

  • Judging by the above video, and the C64 version, which can be seen by clicking in the related videos frame, I think the results explain themselves. Also, owning several other machines (which I also own) does not make your opinion on Speccy Ghost 'n Goblins any more "correct".

  • i dont think you've ever played the speccy version, i had ghost'n goblins on the elite pack back in 1987 and let me tell you it was a classic, it was hard a fuck. If you weren't so wrong I would swear you were right!

  • hahahahahahaha love you

  • This is mithical.

  • I...HAD this game. *awash with waves of nostalgia, almost to the point of tears*

  • get an emulator and play!! ;-)

  • Very very good! The second stage is too hard!!!!

  • woouw, 2nd stage boss is a third stage fat ogre that jumps!! funny!!!; i loved spectrum many years.

  • very nice!

  • I miss those days of rubber keyed joy, I wish the "J" key still said "LOAD" on it- and now, if you press shift and "P" you just get a big P- not an inverted comma. XD

    Love it.

  • yeah, those keys used to be the first broken in every Speccy :D

  • Lol gotta love the color clash and the farting sound effects, I remember buying this thinking it was gonna be as good as the arcade version

  • i've read somewhere that programmer hadnt's access to a coin-op of the game!!

  • yes, the game look quite a bit different and ditto for the level design

  • cool, old times, were the best man! cool vid 5/5

  • It looks sooo plain! There are much better versions.

  • there are several enemies that i miss but there's still a challenge finish this game

  • This is poor. Tell it like it is.

Even for a spectrum this is bad. I cant believe you think this is good. Even for 1986 this would be an embarrassment. Its good to see how an arcade game is implemented on the zx82 but see the C64 version and you see what I mean.

  • not as good as c64 version but i think is still funny

  • I never had a Sinclair, but I can tell from the videos that the games appear to have a really good feel to them. Are there any good Spectrum emulators out there?

  • i usually play with Spectaculator. The version 5.3 is free. Others versions are shareware, though.

  • Thanks you, cool vid.

  • I used to love playing these games.

  • oh i think i've removed a comment accidentally :(

  • takes me back. It's amazing to compare today's Xbox 360 games to the ZX Spectrum games from the mid 80's

  • Yeah, the Spectrum games were far more playable, none of this two joysticks and ten fire button nonsense that you get with the PS/XBox/Gamecube pads. Totally lacking in graphics and sound however.
