Easiest way I found to learn is to chant like a "monk" haha, then tighten the throat and use more force. Practice makes perfect and it takes time, and you have to growl in this way until it starts to hurt, then stop or risk damaging your voice... you do that everyday and you will be able to growl for longer periods eventually without it hurting.

Never forget the first time I heard these guys in the fall of 1991. Just blew me up against the wall of my bedroom! My good friend at school told me, "You've GOT to hear these guys!" I borrowed his Intense Records sampler tape and couldn't believe what I was hearing. I'm 34 years old now and I'm still a fan!

but hasn't Metal always promoted religion. Black Sabbath, at times, has sung from both a Christian and Satanic point of view, and Led Zepplin was all mystical. As long as various eligions are a way of life, their influence will show up in music.

whats funny and ironic about this is... if a christian who had never heard of this band or knew the lyrics would consider it "devil music." silly christians and their hypocrisy.

@toddwaite That´s not hypocrisy, that´s lack of information. And most metal songs ARE what one can call "evil" with promoting to hate oneself or others, using drugs and worshipping the devil. This band is the exception not the rule. I like that they reach metalheads that wouldn´t hear the word otherwise although some christians don´t understand this.

@heythinkaboutit okay i agree with you to an extent. now, i am not religious at all, just throwing that out there. however, i got one of my friends who has a VERY christian family to show this to them and guess what happened? they kicked him out of their house for worshipping the devil. i know and understand that most christians arent like that, but in many, many cases, christians are huge hypocrites... there's no denying that.
