  • JAI SHRI KRISHNA !!!!!!

  • All the time ..Fuck Dropati..

  • to living piano.

    i am a hindu

plz dnt 4gt the vaya wrote bhavish puran andIt gives very accurate forecasts about Jesus Christ, Mohammad, Adam and Eve, Noah’s Ark, the fall of Sanskrit and coming of other languages, about the coming of Buddha, Madhavacharya, Chandragupta, Ashoka, Jayadeva and Krishna Chaitanya and about Kutubuddin & the Shaws ruling Delhi. The relevant translations of above events are given on this section.

you have no right to insult any bodies god.it was 4u2 useless to see this

  • @qaz010wsx tu fuddu da fuddu hi rahenga

  • Why is Kripacharya partaking in these shady activities?

    What is a Kulguru anyway?

  • Draupadi's boobs are big because 5 different husbands have been playing with them.

  • glory to ashwatthama

  • waked up the poor kid from his sleep ......just saying.

  • considering the way bheeshm drona , karn and duryodhan were killed i really fel that killing them like this was justified.

  • It all has to happen. Draupadi was crucial to the war, to set the Kauravs straight.

Ashwatthama is immortal, or "amar", consisting one of the greatest mantras for long life: Ashwatthama Bali Vyaso Hanuman-ascha Bhibishan-aha Kripa-Parshuram-ascha Saptaite Chiranjeevenaha.

Islam is still weird to me, but to insult it wouldn't work as much as insulting the people who mess it up

People analyze, but who actually gets it? Stop arguing and try to learn something for once in your life.

  • @adilkhanqreshi allah ka 2 inch ka loda ne to bachiyoon ko bhi nahi choda sale pig bhenchod

  • the actor who plays awhwathama potrayed the role of ghajini too.

  • wow sage ved vyas was excellent as well as lord krishna

  • Ved Vyas is awesome!!

  • Odd, according to the scripts, Duryodhana was still alive when Ashwatthama gave him the final news of killing everyone on the other side except the Pandavas, Krishna, and Satyaki. The film got it all wrong on this one.

  • @drex801 Spot on dude! Duryodhana asked for bhim's head, and smashed his fist, reducing it to pulp. He told ashwathhama then that bhim's head couldn't have been smashed that easily, so it couldn't have been bhim's head! I dont know y they have killed duryodhana early over here!

  • Odd, according to the story Duryodan was still alive when Aswatthama broke the news and then died peacefully.

  • In some versions of Mahabharat, yudhistir wore the diamond they took from Aswatthama on his crown.

In the later times this very diamond became the Kohinoor diamond.

  • Dear Blessed Soul, Please listen to Yatharth Geeta OR Bhagavad Gita, never has Bhagavad Gita been explained so clearly and in so much in depth. It is hence called "Yatharthgeeta, you can download the mp3 of your choice of language from the website yatharthgeeta. com OR search for 'yatharthgeeta' right here on youtube OR go to youtube. com/user/foryatharthgeeta to get a quick preview. God Bless You!

  • is pradeep singh aswatham?

  • @MyLalinea Yes

  • @MyLalinea Yes ,He has acted in many movies in lagaan & many others

  • well ,its right if her brother kills drona by cheating and wrong if ashwathama does the same to drishtadhyumna. :D :D

  • @kindergarten - hahahhaha...perfect !

  • this draupadi needs a "shaav " every 2 minutes!!!! talk abt demanding wives...

  • it's amazing how twisted Duryodhan is

  • i like it very much

  • @free2bonanza: he was not curced, but that was the punishment of his deed!!

  • @coooldud777: hey dude!!!! this is not a fairy stoty that was told!! it is reality!!! i don't know what you have in your head where should be a brain, but please say words after you have thought about it!!!!!

that is why god gave placed the brain on top than your mouth!!!

    think and than say something!!

don't be offended it's just the firts reactio after reading your words!!

the second reaction is that it isn't your fault, because you may not know the Mahabharat!!

  • @rex3741

    are you talking to me??

when did I say its a fairy tale?

  • How was Ashwathama able to be immortal?

  • Dhritrashtra's frequently used words : 1. Putra 2. durbhagya 3. Panduputro 4. netraheen 5. mahatvakansha 6. singhasan aur rajmukut 7. taatshree to sada pandu putro ka hi paksh lete hai 8. vidur ke kadwe swar 9. utra adheekari 10. kadachid, kintu, parantu..
  • so the kauravs lost?

    thats SO SAD :(

i was hoping atleast ONE of the pandavs would die

I can't believe NAKUL and SEHDEV survided..they are such WEAKLINGS

  • @coooldude777 hey nakul and sahadev were not weaklings. They were great warriors themselves. But they are not prominent in the story. Check out the wikipedia article on Sahadeva and you will know that there is a reason why he shied away from the spotlight. Nakul was a great sword fighter, he killed mama shakuni and tore down 10,000 warriors a day. Yeah - all the pandavas surviving is kind of a diss - but they couldnt have pulled it off without Krishna on their side.

  • yes because they were misbehaviours peoples

  • 4)at indrapatha he agian insulted duryodhna

5)when they were on exile madhya raj came in various troubles.

6)she came to kurushetra n all respected warriors died.

7)when she was celebrating her victory her sons died .

    she was a real bitch

she even said she is ready to stand infront f arjun in war to kill bheeshma since wont fight with women

  • @farhansiddiqui1 you moron...mahabharat and draupadis role in it is not as low level as women's role in your islam..where your prophet boned his wife when she was 9...go read your "holy" book first !! chutiye !!

  • @livingpiano I don't disagree with you, but to hell with warring with this other person. As for the Quran, many Islamists haven't read it, in fact, the only scholars are in Latin America and not the Middle East. How is it that Christians and Muslims live in Latin America in peace while the rest of the world blows each other up? Sounds like a movie, not real life doesn't it? Blah!

  • @MrValkonin the basic problem is most muslims are fundamentalists and just DO NOT WANT to accept that the Hindu culture like certain other cultures is far more scientific and older than theirs...all they can do is OPPOSE. Russia, france, chechnya, india, UK....lot of problems wherever they exist in large numbers !!! Sad but true

  • @livingpiano Yeah, I wish it was different. All people do is think highly of themselves and fight each other, never coming to an agreement, causing more fights, then wars. Reminds me of what happened in Norway, that guy killing about 100 people opposing Islam and non-whites. And just as I said that, thunder outside rolled...scary!

  • @livingpiano I've seen some people handing out papers comparing Allah and Jesus and another guy handing out the Bhagavad Gita. I didn't see a single person take from the 2nd guy. I wanted to but have a copy...but it would've helped him I'm sure. Next time I see him...

I listened to you play piano, I play sax myself. We should be friends!

  • @MrValkonin Great !!! Musicians shouldn be botherd about such religions...when music itself is the greatest religion for us. But it is the ignorance and extremism that is harmful

  • @livingpiano Exactly, music triumphs! :D

  • @livingpiano You are sadly an ignorant and idiotic Islamophobic, my friend, that is also sad but true. Get your head out of your ass.

  • @livingpiano Stop being Islamophobic, it is because of assholes like you Hindus get a bad name around the world. Draupadi was an arrogant, selfish, and obsessed woman, no Muslim woman has ever come close to that.

  • That coward Dhrishtadyumna really needed to be slain this way for what he did to the great Dronacharya. That entire Panchala Drupada family is a family of low-life coward bastards who did not deserve to be born on this great planet.

  • Kudos and glory to Ashwatthama!

  • isn't everything fair in luv nd war, then why was ashwatthama cursed?

  • It is odd that Kripacarya went along with something so shady.

  • anyone noticed this ashwathama i gajni

  • @9711ALI his name his pradeep rawat (ghajini)

  • Cannot figure out why the Pandavas assumed victory when Ashwathamma & co. were still alive.

  • @nandu2809 ..because the hastinapur yuvraj was wounded..ashwathama was outsider...and just a soldier...however duryodhan was not about to accept defeat and kept risking every one's life for his own greed and jealousy...

  • Cannot figure out why the Pandavas assumed victory when Ashwatamma & co. were still alive.

  • @nandu2809 because according to rules of war and chess when king got died and all his descendent's got dead then war is over from that side

  • awesome

  • DHRITARASHTRA IS SO FUNNY XD

  • the first "senapati" of Kauravas- Bheeshm had sworn that he wont kill any of the Pandavas....

after him the second was Dronacharya....when he became the commander Duryodhan himself said that he doesn't wanna kill the Pandavas but he wants to make Yudhishthir a captive,so yudhishthir was protected by the Pandava army all the time

Karna's commandership lasted for 1 day after which the war was practically over

so by fortune, nakul and sahdev survived

  • hehe lol, now we know Ashwathama is finally dead :)

  • so the question is where is Ashwatthama these days??

  • In Surat, Gujarat right now,,,,,,,,,cos it was appeared surrounded that place bfore couple of days!!!!

  • As KingofMumbai below says he's the Ghajini guy so obviously Amir Khan finally killed him :)

  • yo sesshy34 man u jus need to consult ur history prof. as soon as possible iz not lyk m sayin wat all u said iz not tru but dese findings r old only wen compared to mordern civilization....& i cn say it because i myslf wrote a 8000 word long paper on aryan & vedic civilization

  • you S.o.B the europeans are technoligically advanced only in past 500 years.

Wrong, the World's first Artillery originated at Minoan Crete. The World's first Pottery is now found at Japan dated 10,000 B.CE.. The World's first Irrigational Canals and Agricultural Revolution happen in the Middle East - Europe near Sumeria, Present Day Iraq and also China. How do you explain these things ? Anyone can edit and refer to Wikipedia. You need some brains to think about reasons, theories on your own.

  • agreed!!

  • you S.o.B the europeans are technoligically advanced only in past 500 years.

Ancient Egyptians, Minoans, Sumerians, Babylonians, Assyrians, Chinese, Japanese all have contributed to Mankind and Civilization. I agree that Ancient Vedic Indian Civilization brought about new inventions and discoveries but you can't go around claiming all the inventions were invented by Ancient Vedic People. If you have even read a little bit of World History, you would know what I mean.

  • Did you know that the first king Bharat didn't make any of his sons his successor but to Bhardwaj's son (Parshuram),Shantanu who later got son(Vichitrasen) from Satyavati.Satyavati's son was Maharshi Vyas whose sons were Pandavs & Kauravs produced from Ambe & Ambalika. Vidur too was his son from a maid. This implies that whole Kshtriya community was derived from Brahmins and even Krishna mentioned it in one of the episodes that this Kshtriya samaj is given by Brahmins.

  • dude i didn't get what ur saying....do u mean to say Bhardwaj's son was parshuram or shantanu??....cuz neither one of them was the son of Bhardwaj

    Dronacharya was Bhardwaj's son....

and king bharat did that cuz he could not bear children....

and Bharat was NOT "first king"....his father Dushyant was also a king and his ancestors upto 8-9 generations or so were kings

  • hey hey hey, you don't have to be too rushy and jump to conclusions! My coments are based on the serial Mahabharat and not on some book. If u see the first episode, u will find that who king Bharat made his successor, and according to the episode he is the first king of this serial(of course not in entire history).King Bharat had 14 sons(not that he couldn't bear children).See episode 1 again.

  • well we are talking about the Kuru dynasty and the epic Mahabharat aren't we....so its not just "some book".....its ur source which is actually "some serial"....n btw it is full of errors

if u can't read the actual book then go for a slightly less reliable source (more reliable than the serial)....bother checking atleast wikipedia, instead of "some serial" before commenting publically

  • I was not talking about any Kuru dynasty. I was just commenting on episode 1. It is you history professor who came up with whole family's background.

By the way, wikipedia is not very reliable source of information because anyone can edit it anytime. So I guess you should find another source of information for your knowledge of Kuru-History!

  • dude are you retarded or something....i think i'll have to tell you again that my source is the book "Mahabharat" which i've read myself

and i suggested wikipedia to you cuz its still more reliable than "A Serial"....i already have a better reference

  • and i think u were dropped on the head and free kicked across the room when you were born....cuz saying stuff like "some guy was son of Bharat and this guy was son of Shantanu"....that in human language is called "talking about the Kuru Dynasty"

  • and just check ur first comment....u started it with "did u know"....as if ur gonna give a previously unknown revelation....if ur sources aren't reliable dont run ur mouth and pretend to be an expert

  • As if your sources are very reliable...wikipedia!!! I am sure that you are someone who is jealous of my comment becuase you could not bear the truth and that is why you are beating your head commenting on my comments, else you would shut your mouth like others, but it is only you in the whole community who has pain in his/her ass.

  • oh man!!!!....you are seriously retarded....how many times do i tell you....im not quoting wikipedia....my source is the book mahabharat which i've read myself

Gosh u must be having Down's syndrome or something

and "bear the truth"??.... dude what "truth" are you talking about??

or maybe i should ask again cuz ur real slow.....there's some "truth" which u mentioned that i supposedly cannot "bear"....plz tell me what "truth" are you talking about??

  • If you have read book on mahabharat then why are you behaving like an illitrate? You should have know truth by yourself, either by reading my comments or by watching episode, but u still ask what truth is....it inflicts ur lack of common sense and your over confidence on your bookish knowledge. You are someone jealous who could not bear my first comment, becuase no one made such stupid comments like you have been making for last couple of days, and I am not even talking to you.

  • ok first of all slow down....ur comments donot match with what is written in the book....there are many errors in this serial so you should not consider it as the most reliable source....thats all i wanted to say

read my first comment,i was pretty polite about it,but ur the one who made it into a full fledged war

  • while the mahabharat mentioned yakshas, it says they were fair skinned, tall and knew technologies that were relatively godly to the ancient vedic people, meaning they might actually be a long last european or middle eastern civilisation that were unknown to the people of vedic india. like i said, i wont assume anything, it is a topic that is to be researched on immensely. some astrologers have calculated the timeline of mahabharat to be around 5000 - 5700 bce by star positions mentioned.

  • you S.o.B the europeans are technoligically advanced only in past 500 years. otherwise there is no difference. what a ridiculous thought and you want to spend research money on it

  • the fair skinned european people at that time were called "mleechhas" and they were barbarians

  • well to be honest, mahabharat itself is an era where the saraswati river flowed in plenty, a time when gods camped at the ganga and the himalayas. it speaks of various beings like yakshas, nagas, rakshasas walked the earth. i believe every myth has some reality in it and that the demi-gods, yakshas, raksasas were not beings but races unknown to ancient vedic people of india perhaps so its a relatively interesting topic to research. all we can trace now are a few names of places here and there.

  • Anyone knows if MahaB was a historical fact, a great epic or somewhere in between??

  • dirtyharree-

It's an epic, not a history. That being said, it could be indicative of historical trends in ancient India.

  • well ur wrong....its not an epic....many evidences including the recently discovered submerged city of dwarka prove that all these things did exist

historians who came to India during Maurya Dynasty wrote that 138 generations had passed between Krishna and Chandragupta Maurya....so may b u believe that even d Mauryas were an epic

  • most compelling evidences r d names of the cities....cities in other epics had names diff from those ASSUMED 2b in modern times eg Mesopotamia is ASSUMED to be modern day Euphrates-Tigris region

but Indraprastha is still Indraprastha,Hastinapur n Kurukshetra still the same....Guru Gaon is now Gurgaon....Hidimba's Temple is in d exact same location as mentioned in Mahabharat

even a Keralan dish named Aviyal is said 2b invented by Bheem while he was a cook in the court of Virat

  • @chandler

No, you're committing self-serving bias here. Mesopotamia is known to be the Baghdad region because it is supported by mountains of archaeological and first-hand accounts (a lot of which have been verified). Mahabharata is a tale, pure and simple. To take historical conspiracy theories to support your ludicrous claims is the equivalent to supporting creationsim.

Facts precede conclusions, not the other way around.

  • ohhhhhh there you go again.....you said something and i contraindicated it with facts....n now that u dont have a come back you just go "blahhhhhh bblah blah blah blah blahhhhhhhhhh!!!!!!"

dude i never wanted to say this but ur full of shit.....ur not only unnecessarily loud mouthed but also a Moron.....Tigris and Euphrates river traverse Iraq, turkey and Syria and all these regions were collectively ASSUMED to be Mesopotamia

i guess ur pretty dumb to realise that Baghdad is in Iraq

  • and yes....the authenticity of mahabharat is proved by much more than just "mountains" or "archaeological accounts"....

and "first hand accounts"??....you mean archaeologists met people who saw mesopotamia??

  • it has to be something in between

  • Where do we find the story of Ashwatthama accurately? I'd like to know more about him.

And also about Dronacharya and Krupacharya. Can anyone give input?

  • wikipedia

  • Aswatthama killed dhristadyumn and shikhandi.

He defeated and killed shikhandi in the battle and he killed dhristdyumn in the same way as he killed his great father. They both deserved it. There is nothing wrong in it. But his attempt to kill parikshit was wrong.

  • Is that so easy buddy...........He is not at all a common being ...........he has all the powers as he can be invisible..........abt his built

he is around 12 feet something and can drink a Drum full of water at a time

  • I have heard Ashwathama is still alive in MP jungles of India

  • You are right my Boy .....................Ashwathama is still alive....

I you an Individual "Jagannath Kunte"

The author of "Narmada parikrama" He has talked to ashwathama ...

  • r u serious?

do u/he know how Ashwatham looks like his built n stuff?

dude if we can capture him we can reveal many imp stuff

  • @Akshayphadke :u cannot capture a siddha ..no one will capture him ..I've heard that he is one of the saptharishis of the next satyayuga

  • @Akshayphadke but we can never do that...krishna has maybe hiden it somewhere where no human being is there......we will never find him..if we didnt find him since 5000 years, then how will we find him now?

  • @livelifeandbhappy1 there were some news few years back, the villager have seen a 7 feet tall, huge built guy running on a white horse who is wearing a band over his forhead , he got a deep wound on his forhead, that guy prays at an old shiva temple at 4:30 am something, I dont rem. This all happened in jungles of Madhya Pradesh

  • @Akshayphadke oh realli? then i wud like to have the link for that please. but i still dont think its possible bc it was krishna's shraap and obviously he would never allow anyone to find him. and he would be so old right now that he wudnt even have that much energy to travel in a white horse.....

  • @livelifeandbhappy1 he was immortal which means he wont be old, just like Devs - Indra,Agni Dev etc.

Plus I dont have link I saw that news long time back in Times of India, try to google "ashwathama mp jungle" u might find something. There has been more than 6-7 cases where ppl have seen him , asking for "makhan" as makhan has property to heal wound. Plus it was on a news channel too, where a wrestler was working out early in the morning & Ashwathama challeneged him for fight with gesture.

  • @Akshayphadke ya but dont u think immortal means "no subject to death". it doesnt mean he would never get old...of course he would because he is a human after all. no element could ever heal his "thing" on his forehead, bc of the "shraap" given to him and it would hurt him all his life, until the earth dies. i dont know abt the reality, but all i have 2 say is that he is still bleeding and still alive, 5000 years old man, who is still, and always live a cursed life given by Krishna.

  • @livelifeandbhappy1 being old is a part of mortal -life cycle. If u gets old u have to die like Bhism.... he never had immortality but death at own wish blessing so he was getting old.

    Ashwathama is still same.

  • @livelifeandbhappy1 another good thing about Ashwathama is he is one of the few warriors on planet who knows how to call Bramahstra (deadliest weapon from creator itself). So if we can capture him , we might die from knowlege sharing only LOL

  • @Akshayphadke no..its not like that. bhishma had the blessings from his mother that he will die only when he wants. bhishma was the only one in the whole mahabharat who got this kindof blessings from anyone. ashwathama was "amar", meaning that he will never die. but its not that he will stay young forever. he was immortal- he will never die. and even pandavas and karan knew how to achieve and call bhramhastra.

  • hahhaahah

  • @Akshayphadke wow that's interesting

  • just like all of gandhari was left childless after the battle (due to draupadi),her 5 sons were also killed rendering her childless

`jaisi karni waisi bharniu'........that,I think,is what the mahabharat teaches us the most... at every stae of the story,,,,,lakshagraha,vastraharan,etc.etc.

  • why Gandhri crys infront of others. why kunti or Punchali never come to her, to understand Gandhari's pain.

Having said that, a woman cannot give blessiing for victory to her own son, then she has no right to cry for her sons.

  • you guys arguing....is ignorant and pretty unclassy keep yr persoanl arguements to yrself or email it to each other ... ppl like myself that is just watching this episode do not care too much abt what you all have to say...

  • Nobody volunteered you or put a gun on your head to read or comment on this. You could ignore these comments and JUST watch the episodes.

  • Ok if I didnt know that already I wouldnt have made a comment.. but thanks Tips..My point is , discuss all of it.. its not liek anyone lived at that time and its good to see that ppl take such an interest.. But keep the personal jabs at eachother out so that other people can at least enjoy the discussions without getting caught up in the personal battles going on....Sorry if I offended you.... :)

  • I did not mean to offend you. This is a good conversation. It is stimulating and interesting to read and discuss other ideas. Mahabharat is a huge epic and is full of controversies. People form different opinions and express them based on what they learned about it in their childhoo. So, come join us.

  • There is no mention that how Ashwasthama got the Amar Vardaan or who gave it to him.

  • Ashwasthama got immortality as a curse from shri Krishna.

  • If you are referring to Krishna cursing him after Ashwasthama killing 5 Pandav's sons, then it may not be accurate because many references were made prior to that that Ashwasthama's death was not possible because he had that Immortality Curse. If you know when Krishna gave him that curse, please let me know.

  • I think that vickbean is correct. It may be a mistake in the serial that they have started referencing the same from lot prior to the Shaap...

If he was amar to start with, he could as well have been the first commander in chief... !!!!!

  • compleltely agree

  • Vardaan to Ashwasthama was given by his father Dronacharya

  • he did not get the curse of immortality from krishna.. hear that carefully.. his dad already gave him boon of immortality. he made that boon as a curse for him by saying that he shall never get anyone as acompanion for himself to share his joys and sorrows hence that boon is transformed into curse

  • This definitely makes sense. That is probably the reason, his father did not believe that his son was killed by Bhim and had to confirm that with Yudhishthira. Good job, johnsalman66

  • yup.. thanks for compliment

  • Asosthama is a coward. Its a shame that he was a son of Guru Dronacharya.

  • kalki means end of kali yug the yug of darkness and ignorance... kali yug will get over soon.. when men understand that...the universe is the extension of their self.. one cannot control his heartbeat... does not mean its not their heart... similarly... one which is out of their control is their own self.. and try to improve the universe and take care of everyone.. and everything in it... nav yug will arrive..

  • does any1 know anything about when will kalki avatar who is he and when will he come?

  • it is said that kalki avtar is the tenth and final avtar and he will come at the end of kaliyuga.. well i dont know much about years according to lords coz they have different time. their one day is equal to many centuries on earth and lord's one day is equal to all of the yugs.. hence it is said that kalki avtar will come after 5000 years

  • Like rama is shown as leaving the earth at end of ramayana, what happens to krishna when mahabharata is over? y isnt this shown?

  • even after mahabharata krishna ruled on dwarika for many years. i have read in one purana that he was killed by mistake by a archer.. he mistook his toe for a deer's head and he shot at his toe while he was sitting. moreover mahabharata ends here coz it about pandavas and kauravas and not krishna.. he is merely an imp part of it.. krishna leela and mahabharat are different..coz krishna leela focuses only on krishna

  • Unfortunately, you are wrong. Mahabharata includes the fall of the yadavas as well as Krishna. On the contrary, Mahabharata doesn't include the childhood of Krishna. It is one of the many liberties taken by BRC.

  • that is wat i said.. i have already said that krishna leela and mahabharat are different. i tis a different thing that krishna plays an imp role for thing whole battle thing..

  • "even after mahabharata krishna ruled on dwarika for many years." This is what you said.

In reply to that I said the fall of the yadavas is included in mahabharata (specifically Mausala Parva) but not shown in this series.

I am not sure how you could have said the same thing as I did.

  • oh ok.. at first i did not get your comment.. anyways sorry for all confusion. well basically mahabharat ends where bhishma dies. well after that pandavas rule and even krishna rules on dwarka.. pandavas go to himalayas in their last days and parikshit rules later on.. last king of pandavas. end of dwaparyug too. well krishna already departs the world before parishit dies.

  • well it is kinda hard to seperate krishna leela from mahabharat coz after the war is over, people request vyas to do something that diverts their mind away from war and give them peace hence whole krishna leela is written afterwards.. well it is kinda complicated for me to describe my point in words.. hope u got it.

  • You're right. They took liberties; it was necessary (and very apt). The narrator ("I am time") takes us in many directions (not necessarily in chronological order) to tell us how the various stories fit in together.

  • I am not concerned by that at all. Mahabharata has 18 parvas. In the series, they covered roughly 13 parvas and left out the last 5 of them. They probably feared losing viewers after the climactic war. But I am sure people would have enjoyed the rest of the story too.

  • So, what do the last 5 parvas cover? (story-wise)

  • Ashvamedha yagnya, and conquests by Arjuna; the deaths of Dritharashtra, Gandhari, Vidura and Kunti; infighting among yadavas and their destruction; journey of the pandavas across the country and ascent to himalayas and eventually heaven.

  • @illopos they made a mahabharat 2 where they showed the rest. It played in the uk

  • @illopos they covered the other 5 parvas in Mahabharat katha, which aired in the early 1990s

  • @str8desi can you please tell me where can i watch mahabharat 2?

  • @mit3inn im sorry bro, ive been trying to find a site to watch part 2 for years and i havent been successful. you can buy it, but as far as a website to watch it for free, im afraid there arent any.

  • @str8desi hey bro, i've found one link try it

    bwtorrents(dot)com/threads/272 686-Mahabharat-Katha-Part-2-(4 5-avi-files)-B(dot)R(dot)Chopra

  • @illopos There's so much to cover I guess. They did what they could with what knowledge they had, I'm guessing. It's said, somewhere, that watching the war is a curse but I can't prove a source so you can deal with that how you'd like. It's not about the war, and watching Shri Krishna (prequel to Mahabharat), shows how so.

  • can someone please explain, why they projected the birth of this baby (Uttara's son Parikishita) as such a big deal as if their generation would end,; because any of the pandavas could have re-married and had more kids>>>.wouldnt be as simple as that?? please explain..

  • am not sure about your comprehension of english and the level of your english language skills. My point was that they projected the aspect of the "generation coming to an end" as a real big thing..thats all....

  • if u dont know that lemme tell you that after pandavas leave for their last days, parikshat is the only one left of whole race.. he was the last king and after his reign ended kaliyug started...so u see the imp of him... moreover, there was nearly nothing left after that war..do u expect them to remarry..

  • well written! thanks

  • mention not

  • good point.

Actually Mahabharata is in the form of narration by Ugrasrava Sauti of the narration by Vaisampayana to Parikshit's son, Janamajeya. So, there was definitely some amount of hindsight involved.

  • Couldn't quite respect the character of Draupadi. With all her suffering and disgrace done by Duhshashan, she seems to project this as continuous source of hatred to Arjun and Bheem. Even Krishna and Arjun had to remind her that this war is much more than for Draupadi. She isn't all innocent, her comments to Duryodhan and Karna was equally disgraceful. The moral strength and sense of duty without personal hatred makes Kunti and Gandhari by far surpasses her when they hadn't suffered less.

  • Could not agree with you more ! There is a meaning in what you are saying. Just like the men of her time, Draupadi was a less than respectful character. This is the lesson, that she didnt have the superior qualities of a Yudhishtira or Krishna and only thought of revenge.

Both men and women of the previous age were more pure like Kunti, Gandhari and Bheeshma.

E.g. Can u even imagine a Kunti or a Gandhari laugh at their brother in law or say something disrespectful of their elders ?

  • And this story is about Karma (actions). Just like the wicked actions of Duryodhana and Karna brought about their downfall, so did the actions of Draupadi lead to her own humiliation.

Like Yudhishtira said there is no greater Dharma than forgiveness. And she didnt have this quality, whereas women of a previous age like Kunti and Gandhari had it.

The story is about the changing values of society and women were also part and parcel of this change.

  • tell me one thing.. do u expect a woman to forget something like wat happened ot draupadi.. did kunti or gandhari faced that situation..sometimes forgiveness is taken as cowardness of a person if they dont face it.. do u expect pandavas to forgive kauravas.. if they wud have done that it wud have been a cowardly act coz after that kauravas wud not have allowed even to exist thme peacefully

  • Not at all. I dont expect Draupadi to forgive them, but according to the story, she insulted them first by calling Duryodhan "blind child of blind father". She started it. There was no need to say that.

And yes Kunti and Gandhari never had to face that situation, but could it be, because they never uttered such an insult to their family members, either ?

I think part of the story reflects that excessive pride or arrogance is not limited to gender.

  • well yea i agree that part that she insulted him in indraprastha liek that and that was not good.. but watever duryodhan did in reaction to that was totally disgusting.. kunti and gandhari are totally different.. throughout their lives they have kept quiet.. i find them graceful yet weak characters

  • she never said anything to karna she just rejected him and that was her right.. as for duryodhan, she did insult him but watever duryodhan did was totally disgraceful and disgusting

  • It may not be a blasphemy if somebody says Duryodhan was a disgrace to the Kuru family for more than one thing that he has done. He was never punished for Lakshagruha conspiracy, the way he treated Pandavas and Draupadi publicly.

Moreover, I don't understand how one can support Duryodhan saying Draupadi insulted him first. I believe that only sparked the MALICE of Duryodhan to come out which is already present within him. If that did not happen, something else could have happened triggering him.

  • Gandhari's shaap was on only Yadava Vamsha to which Krishna belonged. But not on Pandavas. Pandavas were Chandra Vamsha.

  • where is ashvatthama today if he was amar or immortal.....???????

can someone answer my question plz?

  • it is told that krishna cursed him that he will live without interaction with anyone till three thousand years in his body, as 3000 yrs are over since mahabharat, he is no more, so said by some people. few facts are missing in this mahabharat serial.
