When you do a waterchange, the water is saturated with oxygen, meaning it cant hold any more. When the moss starts to pearl, it is just the oxygen that is unable to dissolve into the water and bubbles out as a gas.
Pretty sure that's just from changing the water, unless it was aged water. Fresh water, from the tap, is full of bubbles and cover everything after a bit of time, then go away.
@SmellsLikeFish44 Mine started to die off too so i took them out of the water put them in a plastic container and put them outside for 3 weeks in natural sunlight and made a water change every day. I really thought i was going to kill them more doing this because of the heat here in cyprus but they really did turn bright green in a couple of days. i keep half in the aquarium and half in a plastic container, when i see the stuff in the aquarium start going brown i swap them over.
its becouse you did a water change its the gas in the water coming out like blaxixanlatino thats what happens when you get full a tank up the hole way on the glass
if changing the water causes the pearling then that isnt "true pearling" but rather a release of excess gas due to temp. change. The one in the vid looks great.
this always happens to me when i change the water. it has something to do with the temp change and dissolved air in the water... the bubbles cover everything, sometimes even my fish themselves
Maybe when you changed the water, air bubbles got trapped in the plant, or maybe the air pump put bubbles in it. Then the bubbles just rise to the surface.
Can anybody tell me wether my lighting is good enough for my plants. i have a 20 gallon with a total of about 19 to 20 watts lighting flourecant full hood. i want some low lighting plants like anacharis, java moss, java ferns, anubias, some amazon swords if possible. and i would like to know if they can be planted in pool filter sand or sand. and i would also want to know if i still need to fertilze them.i dont want to use co2 because i cant afford it plese help!thanks
Build your own co2 reactor real cheap. Check out all the how to videos. I set one up in under an hour and just used a 2 liter soda bottle, warm water, sugar and yeast. Works great and costs next to nothing. Ran the airline tubing to a small water pump to churn up the bubbles.
Can i buy some java moss plz?

20 watts for 20 gallons is a very low light set up. i would consider at least adding another 20W to have satisfactory results
grillusss 3 years ago
my amazon swords are doing fine for 3 months now and i only add some plant food and use the hood light for maybe 2-4 hours a day.

ur so lucky, i need some java moss for my fry :]
the moss isnt bad at all, and the moss doesnt even need good lighting. dont take it out! lol

It didn't start until I added the Excel and it was only on the plant. Is it still likely to be just gassing of the water?
theotheragentm 4 years ago
@theotheragentm healthy moss you got there :D
iownudie108 1 year ago
@theotheragentm Yes. It is gassing out of the water if you did a water change anytime recently before the video.
