  • Very interesting innovative design I dont suppose anyone knows where I can get one in nw england im willing to travel reasonable distances

  • It took you too long to start playing so I moved onto another review.

  • Meh prefer a dreadnought full bodied tone

  • Shoudn't the mic be placed closer to that weird soundhole?

  • It's a shame he kept the Parker head, the rest of the design is fantastic

  • @barbeq67 I like the head, you know what guitar it is immediately

  • very nice : )

  • I'll buy it if its very cheap online, since nobody likes it

  • So ugly my eyes hurt just by looking at it.

  • Gorgeous as heaven itself. Fantastic innovation and execution.

But it sounds horribly scrappy and tinny.

I bet a nice pick guard mounted neck pickup would save it.

  • @MelonDango This is just acoustically.

  • I'd love to have it but I'll stick with my cheapo Yamaha

  • I love the innovation

  • This dude rushes like crazy.....his sense of time is erratic...phrasing is not existant. Show people the instruments voice....

  • @supermanjamil1992 oh, you cant hear it when he plays more notes?XD

i dont see the problem, iheard it alright, and i still think the price is not worth it.

  • sounds like a lindsay buckingham kinda sounding git box

  • the Fly took from electrics, electrics come from archtops, this archtop takes from its own evolved electric sibbling.. doesnt make sense. I'll go read the specs.

  • I'll take a Gibson L-5, thank you very much!

  • Very weird guitar, but I would love to have it.

  • ugly)))

  • I bought a Fly and it changed my whole way of thinking about music. Forever thanks Ken.

  • I so want on of those, damn!

  • That guitar is a precision crafted piece of art. Most art doesn't have a utility function, but that doesn't stop people from owning it. Every time I listen to a review on an expensive guitar there's some jackass comment on the price.

  • HAHAHA It's name is spot.

  • Only $30,000, can you drive it?

  • @swingitjack It obviously isn't a market guitar. So that is fairly reasonable.

  • @8x26x08 $30,000 is not at all reasonable for a handmade archtop guitar. You could get a handmade instrument of comparable of or superior quality for 1/6 the price.

  • I'd like to remember that the tone you can get from an archtop (as from any other guitar) is HEAVILY influenced by the setting (strings gauge and style, strings action, pick thickness and tip shape) not to mention THE PLAYER, that is actually the ultimate tone producer. In this video it seems to me that the guitar is fitted with too light treblish sounding strings, and is played by someone clearly not at home with the acoustic archtop jazz guitar world.

  • I have never played an archtop guitar that I've liked. They've all been very stiff and had almost no sustain. I've never really found one that I've considered to be playable. I'd like to play one of these though.

  • you need to take some guitar lessons and some composition lessons too, coz your song isn't impressive at all. I'd wait more from a so called senior editor lol

  • LOL Wheres your composition???

  • Ken Parker will be at the cordeFactum 2010, 13, 14, 15 en 16 mei 2010 @ Kasteel dUrsel, Hingene, Belgium.

I hope that i may try the "Spot".

  • kinda sounds like a very expensive banjo

  • Yeah, acoustic archtop is a design made to get a lot of volume, it's nothing about a nice tone, lol.

  • I gotta disagree...archtop acoustics are designed to get a fatter sound and clearer high end. It's supposed to be smooth and warm, making it ideally suited to jazz. Has a heck of a lot to due with tone much more so than volume.

  • @AlterGTR sounds way better than that

  • @AlterGTR lol

  • Still waiting for a left-handed model!

  • HAHAHA it sucks for us

  • need one oh theese.. ;)..... ....

  • I met Ken at the newport guitar show...

    he was like a father

  • sounds amazing O.O
