Let's clarify this: In ST the flipkick is as reliable as a SRK. It is the best charge reversal and AA ever because you can even charge db, then store the charge and walk backwards. If your opponent jumps in on you, all you need to do is hit forward + k.
In SFIV however, his flipkick only works on an anticipated jumpin. His airthrow and his fast jumping speed and good normals are more likely meant to be his AA's as he is an iron hard zoning and footsie character now.
uh the input for scissor kick the exactly the same in both games...not sure what you're getting at. That scissor kick is good anti air in ST and not in SF4? ur not making sense
great matches 'it was like honda was afraid in that first half of round 1 then he got him self together..Bison FTW 'Valle FTW 'SF4 FTW 'WIN WIN WIN!!!
lol more 3s d-riders. parry destroys mindgames and makes it a dull footsie scene. SA provides the same offensive/defensive openings without breaking the flow.
Soft banned where? Your house with your friends with your scrubby as house rules?
No such thing as being cheap in Street Fighter. Everything has a counter. Just because you're too fucking blind and/or stupid to figure it out is not the characters fault.
You hold yourself back by your very own mentality. There is a threshold you will never fucking cross because you automatically assume your magical world where Vega isn't played exists is applicable to everyone.
What planet are you on? O.Sagat and Akuma/Gouki are the only ones softbanned in ST.
I tried talking to you as if you were an adult, but you're just an overgrown child who will always be held back by his own inability to listen instead of yack.
Enjoy your defeats at the hands of scrubby, cheap players. It's a pit you put yourself in forever.

he is soft banned but you give me the impression you don't even know what that means
claw is an easy cheap ass character that gets results with little effort. Spam walldive ftw and mix in a few pokes and throws for good measure, sad and tragic.
I know what softbanned means (even if I didn't, shoryuken forums are just a click away, lol), and vega's NEVER been softbanned at any major japanese tourney. Please post a link or something proving otherwise.
I play vega, and spamming walldives is an easy way to get killed. It's called a dragon punch, look it up. Many times you can jump backwards and kick to escape. It's a good move, but it doesn't own the game by itself.
Claw being 'easy' to play wouldn't get him softbanned.
okay. I'll explain why he is softbanned and therefore looked down upon.
His walldive moves knocks down, something that was thankfully changed in hd remix. Anyway, you knock your opponent down with it, you spam the move straight again, your opponent is then thrown into a guessing game scenario. He has a 50% chance of guessing which way your dive will go.
There is not point defending him, he is a cheap character, by far the easiet to use properly.
I can definitly agree on the point that he's looked down upon, but that doesn't translate to a softban.
Fact is, both Dhalsim and Balrog (before HD remix) are better overall than vega, and anyone with a good reversal can escape his walldive shenanigans.
This doesn't even BEGIN to compare to a character like akuma, who had air fireballs that won for free vs the entire cast, or O.sagat, whom fireball spamming is literally the best way to play him.
boxer might be top tier but he takes skill to play well. No scrub is going to play him like daigos.
claw is just plain easy to use, he has no hard combos to learn, nothing that requires incredible split second timing or uber reflexes. His game is poke, slide, throw, spam wall dive and use flip kick as an anti air.
first, no character ever should requure timing that good. that means the character is overcomplicated and most likely poorly designed.
second, i thought we were talking about super turbo. outside of tick throws and comboing to super, there's nothing that requires above average timing AT ALL. vega's about as easy to use as guile, chun li or the shotos
You're stupid. Vega has to try three times as hard as pretty much any other character to actually win. Do you not know what goes into playing him? The flip kick is a horrible anti-air, slide is punishable, and wall dive is a dangerous proposition altogether against someone with good anti-air. Learn your shit, go count how many rogs and kens win versus Vega.
This guy knows what he's talking about, Vega's flip kick is a terrible anti air. Its only really effective as a supression attack when you have some bitch ass cowering in a corner and you catch them early jump or as they try a special with less priority. But in both cases you have to read the hell out of your opponent making it alot more difficult then spamming a bunch of easy ass fire balls or charge punches. If you played the game you'll see that most if not all of vega's moves leave him open.
ST is not SF4, Vega has been seriously downsized since then, he's not soft-banned ANYWHERE. You call it "cheap," I call it "win." If I'm a shoto and you keep walking into fireballs, I'm going to keep throwing them.
it's very bad for Ryu to throw a low HK sweep on Bison...

@snuzzie
no parry does not destroy mindgames. it's messes up fireball zoning and attacks that are far too obvious, if anything it makes the game more complex.
what are you doing complaining about footsies on a honda vs bsion vid? 0_o

I'm sorry but this game is nowhere near as captivating to watch as 3S.
I started watching 3S vids before I even had the game, and I watch MOTW vids while still having not playing it.
but this just gets kinda dull fast...

what fucking rock did you crawl out off?
Oh and don't fucking preach to me that vega takes skill to play, next you'll be telling me honda is hard to use or something.
seriously, take a step back and go fuck your own face. Vega is pure scrub bs in st, always has been, always will.
And yes, cheap does exist. Perhaps your a stupid vega player justifying your own shittyness

He's NEVER been soft banned. EVER.
Name one major Japanese tourney claw's been soft banned in.
Why WOULD he ever be soft banned, when dhalsim and Bison are both clearly better and have better matchups all in all?
The idea that claw takes no skill is a brainless statement.
