The "stranger" is a boundary we create to protect ourselves. It is perfectly healthy. A challenge in life is to drop the boundary and connect with another on a soulful level. Another way to think of it is that the "stranger" is in actuality, God's protection, because it's the part of us only "we" know, and this is how it should be. Intimacy with another, if true, makes the stranger paper thin, but still there so long as we're in finite form. The stranger is a blessing and a curse.
