I am looking for a top quality usef hunter that happens to be a quarter horse or appendix. Please email me if you know of anything. westrnridr@aol.com thank you
I would say that horse has a bag & a half of scope. He's not being held in any form of rhythmical canter, he's holding his own rhythm. He's not being collected onto his hocks so is jumping those fences on raw scope rather than a collected "bouncy" canter. Just because a horse doesn't tuck it's toes up into it's chest doesn't mean you won't get any clears - if you look v few top SJ'ers have their hooves against their girths. Infact the top stallion Peppermill has a similar technique to this horse
yes i am rather serous ta, if a horse drops its lower leg you have no chance of getting a clear on it love. and also don't want to sound stuck up or cockey but i have been showjumping for a very long time now and i am prety sure i know a bad horse when i see one but taa for the sity comment any way babe :)
haha, you are sooooo coooll insulting me like that, wish i was a hard nut like, i realy do!! and i would just like to say that when i say "don't wan to sound stuck up or cockey.." it means i am just making a point BABE. :P
Either one of these would be nice over fences . I am an OLD hunter diva 40+ years from small ponies on up. Both are very nice. The hunter was super quiet and the jumper wonderfully springy and foreward !!
yes, but a horse whith a high canter is more likly to keep th rail up even if they are in too deep to th fence, jump at an angle or if the rider pulls on the reins because the high canter gives them that extra few inches anyway, and horses with a high canter have plenty of impulsion, wher as horses with flat canters need more rider help
i still disagree. impulsion is the back up you hope for if u place a horse too deep to a fence not step height. the height of the stride is determined by pastern slope. and shoulder slope effects the length of the stride so a horse may have a long stride but a high step so u cant assume a horse with a higher step has a shorter stride. the reasons i listed are ALL of the reasons there is no more and no less.
It is a Larg Jr, or derby horse. For a price please private message me, he is very reasonable priced though. The jumper does the 7 year olds and will start to do the high jr/am jumpers this fall with some grand prix starts later in the year.
I think he like to jump! :)

the chestnut is so beautiful! I wish he was still for sale
equestrianfluff 1 month ago
wow i know you know you're a good rider but it's so nice to see. they're both beautiful and you do a damn good job
mijoutte 2 months ago
why does he jump so strangely he pauses then hops in the air like a bunny i have never seen a horse do that in my life
afleetalgebra 2 months ago
@afleetalgebra because the rider isn't giving the horse enough leg or impulsion, so he's throwing himself over the fences.
DarkKingdomBlade 8 hours ago
@DarkKingdomBlade oh okay thanks for answering my question.

that first ones canter is far to flat, but that second horse, wow hes got talent
SexyHalliday 2 years ago
It's a hunter. They aren't supposed to have huge movement.
eqismexox 2 years ago
well am pretty sure even a hunter isn ment to knock a fence and horses with flat canters usually do
SexyHalliday 2 years ago
All horses do. And really, the scope on that horse is amazing, I bet he rarely hits fences.
eqismexox 2 years ago
psh whatever. Horses knock down rails if they:
-get too close to a fence
-are tired
-not enough impulsion
-they aren't fit enough for that height
-they take off at an angle
-the rider pulls on the reins over the fence

bethfleming1229 2 years ago
i love it how u stay out of the horse's mouth...more jumper riders need to do that!
:D
A168HJ 2 years ago
I agree. Though, some horses need the help of the bit to constantly remind them to stay off the forehand. My gelding needs that.
