  • Dr Charles Lee, i was wondering what would happen if the sutures break overtime? Would you must go back to take the stitches out? If not what will happen?

  • Hi Dr Charles, I found out that one of the cosmetic surgeons at my place actually performs liposuction on the eye instead of doing incision. Is it actually alright to undergo liposuction on the eye instead of incision?

  • I might go to Korea for this surgery but I don't know if they do the DST method over there...

Also, are there more patients that don't have to go back to do surgery? Or do you have to redo them after that 5-10 year period?

  • How long does stiches for the DST last? I have research on it and they says it usually last for at most 5-10years or so, so do i have to go back to the clinic to somewhat change the stiches??

  • @MidnightMatthew After 5-10 years, you will have excess skin that you may want removed. If not, most people do not need further surgery.

  • How do the eyelids look when you look down? Any scarring?

  • I already have natural double eyelid. But the double eyelids are not distinct ,a and sometimes one disappears when I don't get enough sleep. Can I still have the DST technique instead of the incision technique. Thanks.

  • @bostonicarus You may be able to get DST to give you a permanent crease. In some cases, the intermittent crease indicates a problem with the eye opening muscle, which would require an incision to correct at the time the crease is being placed.

  • I'm getting mine in about 5 years,um just a few questions...how much does it cost? where's the hospital located? i hope ur still a doctor at that time :)

  • @linncheng Our clinic is located at 436 N. Roxbury Drive, Beverly Hills, CA 90210. Please contact us closer to the time of surgery.

  • i hope you are still a doctor in about 4 or 5 years when i get mine -.-

  • @shortychika502 I'm not that old. I hope to be around for a long time!

  • @shortychika502

same, i want to get it when i'm 18 but i am 15 now, i really hope you're still around lol

  • hi

i live in Dubai and so i cant afford to travel abroad and do the surgery?

do you know anyone who performs this surgery for asians in Dubai?

  • Hi Is Dr. Charles Lee fluent in Korean? I am interested with this procedure but I poor in the English language.

  • @Calpico852 I can understand Korean but I do not speak it well. We do have a Korean speaker.

  • Hello ! I'm jsut wondering about my eyelids. I had single eyelids in the past, i'v used the double eye lid glue for 2 years befor I have the folds stay when I wear false eyelashes. I depend on them making the crease for me., however my question is, I have the crease but is it possible to do the DST on it to make that same crease i have permanent?

  • Hi I am very interested in getting a double eyelid surgery so I decided to look up more information so that I can be more comfortable. I was watching your video and heard you mention about a method call DTS... with this procedure will you have to cut open my eyelid(like blepharoplasty) or are you just stitching the eyelid together?? Thank you for your time!

  • @hycluvsyou94 Just stitching the eye, no large incision.

  • hello Dr. Lee

In general, does all plastic surgery results last a lifetime?

or do you have to go back under the knife again at some time in your life to maintain the precise look you had after the first surgery? I'm 20, and I had eyelid surgery and rhinoplasty couple years ago, and wondering if it's necessary to go back under the knife to keep my results looking fresh

and is your office located in the US? I reside in Canada so I have no idea where beverly hills is

  • @passionholic899 Please contact us through our website. We are located in Los Angeles, California area.

  • Hello Dr. Lee,

I was wondering : if you get the surgery in your twenties, you probably need a revisional surgery a few years after... How many years after actually ?

And I've got a second question too : as a surgical procedure "forces" the eyelid to fold, I am afraid that the eyelid gets droopier, that the skin loosens itself year after year... and that at some point, any revisional surgery is impossible.

I apologize for my english, and I thank you for your answer.

  • with DST, does the eye close like a regular eye? meaning when the eyes are closed is there still a fold or not? doesnt that look unnatural?

  • @heiheij it closes like a regular eye. There is no crease when the eye is closed.

  • @DrCharlesLee thanks for letting me know! I am considering this procedure, if i was in LA i would definately come to u!

  • I have thin eyelids but the crease is always changing depending on my water intake and amount of sleep and it really bothers me.

I feel like I am a good candidate for the DST Method as well as v-w medial epicanthoplasty but I was wondering what is the price range for this surgery as I do not live in the US. Thank you!

  • hey docter lee, my question is did the girl on on cnn i think her name was annie. get incision or dst? because she healed so fast in about 2 weeks? and i thought incision method takes at least 4 months to look like how hers was without the significant swelling and bruising also how long after the incision can you start putting on makeup?

  • Dr. Lee - I plan to have this surgery at some point, but already have doubles. They are currently infolds but I want to create the appearance of small outfolds. Which technique would be more suitable for this?

  • dr. charles lee looks like a honest and nice guy!

im planning to do a double-eyelid surgery toO!!!!

  • i used to have double eyelids but one day i was stupid and started to use tapes to make my crease even bigger... now one eye is streched out and has a faint crease while the other eye is deep and larger than the other, can this surgery fix this?

  • @highfash same thing happen to me ): I used those tapes on my eyes to make them alittle bit higher(even though i already had a crease) but instead made my eyelid stretch out. My right eye is back to normal but my left is not ): i want to get the surgery

  • iw as thinking about doing it this summer, but im afraid... does it hurt?

  • @AudiiRento We can make you as comfortable as you like with anesthesia.

  • Hi I just want to ask what you would do if a people's having one double-lid and one mono-lid.

Oh and how many times could it go wrong??

  • @MrsSumiGumi You can have one eye surgery or both eye surgery. Usually I prefer the DST if only one eye will be operated on because of the minimal swelling and quick symmetry you will see after surgery.

  • Hi Dr Charles.

I am thinking of getting the incision eyelid surgery, but i noticed I have a bump above my eyes on my left eyelid. It's under the skin. Am i still able to have the surgery?

  • @AznGlitzy Usually yes.

  • what was the youngest age to do this surgery ? && do they have anesthesia at any place we go to ?

  • hi,i want to ask how old do you need to be to do this surgery?

  • @xDlilyxD Age 16 with parental consent.

  • whats anesthesia?

  • how would you make us comfortable while having the surgery ? would you put us to sleep ?

  • @terryquang For this surgery I use deep IV or general anesthesa

  • @DrCharlesLee

For eyelid surgery I usually use moderate IV anesthesia. Ou office is fully accredited.

  • @terryquang Anesthesia is the medication to put you to sleep so you are comfortable during the procedure.

  • does it hurt a lot ?

  • We can make you very comfortable if you want to be sleepy during the procedure. Other people prefer numbing medicine similar to a dentist's office.

  • Hi Dr. Lee, i'm planning to get a double eyelid surgery but i'm afraid it won't look natural, which one would u recommend for the natural look?

  • It depends on your anatomy and the doctor. Younger patients under 25 do well with either technique; otherwise the incision is probably better, generally speaking.

  • hi Dr Lee, i naturally have creases in my eyes, but my left eye has a considerably smaller crease, but on some days, i get the same sized crease as my right eye. could surgery fix that?

  • Yes, surgery will stabilize creases that are inconsistent.

  • Hi, new topic what is the difference between removing fat and cutting out & removing excess skin? Can u explain to me and compare what both may look like?

Can u correct me if im wrong? Im guessing removing fat creates a less droppy in thickness but u may experience hollowness from removing fat whereas cutting the skin from saggyness of the skin and your end result will look more flat/tightness instead of having excess skin that may make your doubleeyelids look smaller then they actually are

  • Younger patients need only removal of a very small amount of skin and fat (1mm of skin or less). Older patients (over 35) may need some puffy fat bags removed and the overhanging droopy skin removed.

  • The incision will give a deeper more refined crease. Some patients prefer the deeper crease, whereas some prefer the more shallow crease. We offer either option. Thanks for the comment.

  • well said.

  • what age can i get it? i'm only 14 and my mom thinks i need double eyelid

  • In Asia age 14 is commonly accepted. In the US, age 16 appears to be the more common age limit.

  • @DrCharlesLee i heard in korea, my friend's friend got it when she was 9 o.O thanks for the reply!!

  • Dr.Lee, do you do asian rhinoplasty?

  • Please look for my rhinoplasty youtube video under drcharleslee:s account on youtube, as well as my website asiancosmeticsurgery

  • What happens when a patients has little fat and skin on her uppereye lid, due to an overaggressive surgery. Is it possible to harvest skin in parts of the body, and then add that to the upper eyelid. I'm hoping the eye will look less round.

  • Over removal of fat and skin is difficult to correct. Fat or skin grafting often does not give a natural appearance, so I prefer to avoid that route if any other alternative is available.

  • Yes, only in Beverly Hills.

  • hmmm....

this doctor looks LEGIT unlike the other ones i've seen on youtube

there are MANY MANY doctors who talk about sangkapuul and perform it when they have no idea what they're talking about

i'm getting my eyes done next year in korea,

but i actually wouldn't mind getting it done by dr. lee :D

i probably would, if i lived closer by

  • Thank you :)

  • @bagleyy

did you already go get your eyes done over in korea? if you did how did it come out?

  • Dr. Charles Lee. I live in VA and I wud like to get a double eyelid surgery. I don't know how much it cost, but do you know what the cheapest (but also safe) double eyelid surgery there is in VA???

  • there's a very very good doctor who's famous for performing double-eyelid surgery in arlington, virginia

his name is Anh H. Pham

    phone number is 703-524-1025

he's probably the best in virginia

and yes, he's legit. my mom's friends and some of my friends went to him

i went to him to but he said i should wait till i'm 16 haha....

  • i have a question,

would you recommend getting the non incisional method done if i already have double eyelinds naturally? i just want to make my eyes slightly bigger and more symmetrical looking.

    thank-you

  • It's going to depend on how strong your preexisting crease lies and how much bigger you want it. If the crease is small and strong, then you need incision method. If it's large and weak, then DST is possible.

  • hi Dr. Lee!

i am planning on having my eyes done and as much as i wish i could have it done by yoy, i can`t because i live in nyc...

are there any surgeons you are friendly with or would prefer in the nyc area that specializes in asian plastic surgery (like yourself)?

    thank you

  • DST is a specific type of suture technique and not widely used as of it in the US.

  • Dear Dr.Lee,

I just recently had a suture done in Hong Kong but I know I had some upper fatty tissue which the doctor did not address as a concern as he claims that it'll still look natural.

Its day 3 now and I still notice that there is slight bulge on top of the crease suture area and the top area of my eyebrow which when I use my eyes to look up has a tight pulling feeling and hurts a little bit.

    Is this normal? Thank you.

  • Many of these symptoms will go away after a week to a few weeks. You can go to our website and email a photo to us of evaluation if you would like.

  • Possible to do one eye, but please contact us in Beverly Hills.

  • do you do this in korea? i was thinking to get it in korea

  • No, Beverly Hills only.

  • How much would it cost for an 18 year old to put a crease in just ONE eye? Also, what state can I get this procedure done in or where do you work?

  • Please visit asiancosmeticsurgerydotcom for pricing information.

  • How much does this type of procedure cost? I am a Korean male. I do have a crease but the skin above the crease is covering it. I would like to make my creases bigger and more noticeable sort of what the korean male celebrities look like. What type of procedure would you recommend for me to get?

  • DST works better in patients who do not have excess skin. Usually this mean under age 27. Above that age, the amount of skin overhang varies from person to person and has to be evaluated individually.

  • i'm interested in the DST method! if i had this procedure done, is it just a walk in and out thing? for instance, no follow up? i'm not from the area and would need to return to work quickly.

also wondering if you had recovery pictures day to day immediately following the DST procedure. please let me know, very interested!

  • This can be a walk in/out procedure, although you should have someone else drive (even a cab). We recommend but do not require a next day checkup. We have recovery photos for you to review.

  • Dr Lee...you do beautiful work. I hope to have you do my eyes someday.

  • You are very kind. \

  • I'm Filipino, and I look Chinese, I plan to have double eyelid surgery too, are you the only plastic surgeon doing DST? It seems a good method, thanks!

  • I am the only surgeon trained by the inventor of the technique in North America.

  • Which method is more enduring? With the DST method, will the crease still be visible or be distorted as one age and the eyelids gets heavier? Also, how long is the recovery process for either method till the surgery is not visible?

  • The incisional is more enduring (7-10d recovery). The DST will go 5-10 years, frequently permanently depending on one's anatomy (4-6d recovery). Both techniques age well.

  • roughly, how much would a procedure cost?

  • The DST procedure is $2900. The incisional with epicanthoplasty is $4200.

  • if someone were to get eyelid surgery and have it done well would a plastic surgeon still be able to tell by looking at that person that they had plastic surgery? or would that even be unlikely?

  • With the DST suture method, it is extremely difficult to tell someone had surgery. With the incision method, there is a fine scar which is visible. For smokers, the scarring is more significant.

  • With the DST method frequently it is almost impossible to tell, even by a plastic surgeon. With the incision method done well, a plastic surgeon would have to look very carefully to tell it was operated on.

  • for parallel creases (that don't taper in toward the inner corner of the eye) would the incisional or suture method be preferred?

  • Either method can be used in younger patients without any sagging skin (under age 26). If there is a lot of extra skin, then the incisional method would work better.

  • is there a way to correct somewhat uneven natural eyelids?

  • The DST suture procedure is best for this, because usually you just need a small adjustment in the folds to even them out.

  • the incision leaves scars..would it go away?

  • The DST suture method has 1mm scars that are virtually undetectable. The incision method leaves a scar that varies in quality, depending on the quality of the closure as well as whether the patient smokes s

  • how can scar be virtually undetectable? I am really interested in this procedure...thank you

  • 1mm incisions are used in three places to allow stitches to form the creases from the undersurface of the skin. The 1mm incisions are virtually undetectable.

  • how much does it cost?

  • asiancosmeticsurgeryxcom (replace x with dot) has the most current prices and scheduling information.

  • oh right thanx a lot...what's the minimum age for that non cutting?

  • age 14 to 16 depending on anatomy of patient
