duff was about to die in 94, he almost died because of his heavy drinking but he quit and he was lucky, steven adler we all know his state cause of his past heroin abuse, axl is depressed he just punched a guy in the face a few months ago in an airport, slash is obliged to live with a machine or some shit in his heart cause of his past drinking abuse but he's ok, he's doing fine, he quit smoking too, yeah they are legends but that style fucks you up goooood after some time

I cannot believe he is still alive. I have never heard of or seen someone put so much toxic garbage into their system and survive. I was good friends with Gar Samuelson, formerly of Megadeth and he died sadly at age 41 of liver failure many years after getting sober from Heroin. He did drink but I think, like with Ray Charles, the heroin can do irreperable damage to your liver and take you out years later. The liver also ironically regenerates itself if kept healthy.

I was watching that show the other day and didn't recognize him. Just thought he was some strung out junkie till some lady called the cops and said the name "Steven Adler" and I was like "That's HIM?!" Man, he was in ROUGH shape... And went to jail by the end of the episode... For those who don't know, he also had a stroke in 96 so he's been gone in the head for quite a while...

i think appetite has some of the best drumming of the 80s on it, and i usually disagree with the way most drummers play a song, just because i would do it differently, but not Steven. His drumming is flawless, however his sobriety is not.

The way he talks isn't from random accumulation of drugs in his system - it's the result of a stroke coming from a failed suicide attempt.

He's done so well to still be a kick-ass drummer after being told he may never use the left side of his body again.

Damn I think that this is the way he talks since the drug overdose. It has affected his brain tragically. You know who he reminds me? He reminds me of the present day Muhammad Ali. Only one difference though, Ali has Parkinson's and Adler is all of the accumulation of drugs that he either inhaled or shot up his arm.
