I think this speaks to the facade of hollywood that its a cutthroat business and will disgard its stars once the flame goes out and its not a very nice place for those no longer in the limelight.
Ok this goes out to musicians that might have a complete lyriic and chord sheet music of the song when you wish upon a star. The second bridge (When a Star is falling) is what I am curious about.
His birthday is on the same day as mine. June 14th. Only mine is on 1988. Man, no wonder he is my favorite character as Jiminy Cricket. He is missed dearly by me. :( I'm his biggest fan.
If this is from 1969 I dont think he was seeing much of Gable or Tracy lol...maybe he misunderstood the question.....When I first watched him sing Singing in the Rain in 1929 in the Hollywood Revue, I was so amazed because I had always thought of it as Gene Kellys song. I think he's swell!
It's likely that this is the last interview with Cliff Edwards that remains. He passed away two years after this interview which was for the book 'Whatever Happened to...'. Edwards' career had long been forgotten by 1969, so he wasn't being hounded for interviews.
I've always treasured the stars of the 20's-60's. Not only was it the golden age of animation, film and in some cases music, it featured some of the most talented storytellers of all time.
What a classic artist.
My favorite actors from this time period is Jimmy Stewart, Cary Grant, Peter Lorre, Boris Karloff, Edmund Gwenn, Josephine Hull, Jean Adair, Judy Garland, Shirley Temple, Mickey Rooney and so many others!
It's just a great period! The funniest and most talented period!!!

God bless his soul. I'm a fan of Cliff. I made a layout of an animation clip I wanna work on of Jiminy Cricket singing Cliff's song 'Singing in the Rain.'

According to my dad, he was my great uncle. I have never verified it, but my dad certainly has a singing voice, and I have one as well so who know?
