It depends on the film. Most actors don't. In most PG13 or 14A films the actors/actresses wear nude-colored underwear (panties, thongs, etc) which are either taken out with special effects or not shown on camera, and some are just naked but clever camera-angles are used to hide private parts. In most R rated films there is a lot of faking and camera angling involved, but there have been a few movies during which the actors actually have sex on film.

When writers write in a sex scene in the script it's not like they're thinking OH I want to arouse people And film is a form of visual art so me saying it's for artistic purposes does makes sense. Whether it's there for comedic purposes or dramatic purposes it's there. If they want to arouse people they can just become porn directors. Duh.

What's wrong with seeing sex on screen or even porn? We all know what sex is and what it looks like. I don't understand why people are offended by sex. That's like being offended every time some one curses in the film. People do it all the time, it's human nature. And besides they rate the movie so you would know what's going to be in it and if it's going to be a problem then don't watch it.

No I haven't seen it but I have heard of it. I get what you're saying but for someone who's worked behind the scenes creating films it's not entirely about money. When someone goes to film school like NYU for example and make short films do you think they're doing that for money?
Like if someone puts a painting on the wall to entertain people it's still art. It's there to evoke emotion, to tell a story, and entertain. Like the movie Precious...you think they made that just to make money?

And I didn't say film making is ABOUT art I said it is ART. And im standing by my opinion like you're standing by yours. It's a craft...and yes there's the business side but as a filmmaker myself making money is really not in our brains. You make film making sound like something people do ONLY for money and it has no important value.
You notice the crappy ones only made for money are easily forgotten. A movie has to be good in order to make money which requires a team of ARTISTS.

I am a man, I have developed a porn website, not really my sort of thing to actually watch, since I am in a relationship, I have a huge (and I mean huge interest), in the psychological stuff.
It's only when you have dreams of doing something that's say in a porn film, can't physically do that because your not in a relationship (or with someone that won't do that), then it will only leave you frustrated.

I'm not ridiculing anybody. I just get annoyed when people act like it's a horrible thing to be modest. and I'm tired of everything needing to be liberated and artsified. like it's not right until it embraces the open side of life. 'the lets have sex whenever and whoever we want to have sex with. Not that that is the discussion here but in my experience the ppl. who embrace nudity embrace the other very easily. some people are prudish and they have their reasons.

Well I understand what you're saying but I don't think that's true all the time. Kate Winslet for example is married with two kids it's not like she's going around being promiscuous. And I'm not saying embrace yourself like going to a party and flashing your vagina for girls gone wild. Like my friend does body painting and he is an amazing artist. Body painting does require you to be nude and he actually used me for one his paintings. And I'm a reserved person but I'm comfortable with myself.

Walking around naked all the time would be cold... then as a bi-product of that we get used to it and then it's not normal. No one wants to be different.
But story telling in film or still images can involve the story of love, and need to show someone naked, as the character may only be naked for one other character the actor must be prepared for the audience to be allowed in. It's no different to acting a private conversation but allowing the audience in on it.

Nah, it's an action movie staple: the unnecessary nudity. Like that scene in Commando when Arnold is fighting off that dude in the hotel room, and they burst through the wall and into the next room to find that topless woman, who screams loudly in surprise. Classic. And what the audience wants.
I wonder if that mystery woman truly "believed" in her scene?
Director: "I think it really ramps up the action!"
