  • Cars Com YOUR LEFT SOUND CHANNEL IS GONE

shitty camera shitty recording, shitty video SHITTY LOW BUDGET REDNECKS !!

  • @Toyota4Runner4Ever why even go to a Ridgeline youtube webpage when you dont like a ridgeline? you're stupid. just go to your own webpage in toyota.. moving forward.. even if you hit the brakes, they move forward.. LOL

  • Dam I'll get that

  • Ok so we just got this truck used but in mint new looking operating condition and I had no idea the tailgate swung open, I ran outside thinking "no way, they would have told me" and sure enough it swung open... Its like christmas (haha) now Im wondering what other treasures it has hidden......

  • tacoma sucks

  • sodas? wtf... I'm Canadian, if there wasn't beer in there i'd prolly be shot on sight and rightfully so.

  • a moblecooler i am in

  • you call this awsome? its the most hideous pick up on the market. ill take our tacoma

  • Do some reserch before you say "its Honda. its automatically made in Japan.

75% of this vehicle is made in Alabama. The parts imported from Japan are of the highest quality and precision. The engine is American made, along with pretty much the whole rest of the car. Also, as previoulsy stated, If you are going to tow excessive loads, get a diesel, the truck right for it. Know your limits and think before making ignorant comments about how "it sucks" or Wannabe truck". Get a life.

  • buying a japanese truck is like getting mexican food cooked by am asian. its just not right.

  • fuck its 2x the price of a ranger but twice the truck too,

  • Bull shit can't tow no 20,000 pound trailer aint a real truck *Snicker*

  • this truck is good if your a drug dealer there lots place to hide drug in the honda ridgeline

  • Ahh the background music is scaring me away from the truck lol

  • @execdyke91 lmao... and I thought it was my TV XD

  • I love honda so a honda truck be nice but the bed is so small i wish they had a single cab verson

  • @Vansvideoreviews it's not that small, it will hold a 4x8 sheet of plywood with the gate up. That's pretty decent, also the wheel wells don't protrude into the box, nice touch.

  • love my 06"

  • dakota fuck, I'd buy a ridgeline!

  • "could've had a V8"? "could've slept with my sister"! V8's don't make a truck, a truck idiots, GEEZ!

  • @snakerb Well, if you want to tow stuff... yeah it does.

  • If you need to tow heavier stuff, get a tougher vehicle. V8's aren't used to tow 40ft big rig trailers, now are they?..... What are ford rangers called again? oh yeah, pick up "TRUCKS"

  • Yeah v6's aren't used to tow boats or trailer beds... Which I actually need to do. I don't need to tow a 40 ft trailer...

  • All I'm saying is it may not be what you're looking for, so get something else. But the fact that it has a V6 instead of a V8 doesn't mean it's not a truck.

  • @Charles2337 my ridgeline has towed large boats and trailer beds several times with no trouble at all.

  • @Charles2337 I don't know about your circumstance as I don't knowwhat you are wanting to tow loadwise but your comment regarding V6 and V8 is so wrong and Americanly naive!

  • @yachtymadness

You live in the UK. Your streets are tiny and your trucks are like pickups compared to here. I have a boat that I tow during the summer and I also have a flatbed which I use to tow gravel and sand.

I also have a van that is currently carrying around 4000 pounds of equipment. A v6 simply cannot do that. It doesn't have the torque a v8 has. Plus isn't the ridge-line a unibody truck? That is a joke.

  • @Charles2337 You don't tow or haul anything that a well built efficient V6 cannot deal with with torque to spare. And I didn't say that the vehicle in the above video was a work horse either.

  • @yachtymadness

Well I would love to see one that can. Show me some and maybe I'll reconsider.

  • This is WAAAYY Better than Toyota Hilux.

  • @raykrislianggi Are you kidding? This can barely do any real work. This would break down on a construction site or farm. Toyota's are built for that stuff.

  • @Charles2337 You are so wrong, I live in Manitoba and a farmer near my house drives a Ridgeline as his daily driver. He says it's the best truck he has ever owned. He hauls all kinds of stuff with it and also uses it to check pastures. He has never had any problems with it but he does wish it got better mileage. He only uses his diesel truck to haul cattle and grain.

  • alot of things i dont like about it and lot of things i do. it does not have a real frame, it one piece not like my ranger. but i must say it is a comfortable vehicle. in bed storage is cool. but the tiny little donut for a spare is a disgrace. well disgrace to car companies in general. the money they charge for cars you think they would put a full size regular tire in the cars.

  • GREAT

  • nice

  • only fords and chevys need a v8... V6 is plenty for this truck. I agree that its not a red neck type of heavy duty truck but for someone who needs something greater than an SUV but don't really need an uncomfortable truck, ridgeline is perfect. And about 80% of the people don't use a truck the way you need it anyways, may be a couple of trips to Home Depot. If you're not in construction business, this is the perfect truck for someone like me, Im a live sound engineer.

  • in my opinion its not a truck if you cant carry a full piece of plywood...and from looking at this truck, i dont think it can....and really, who cares about what a vehicle NEEDS, a v8 makes it soo much more fun. my friends got a hemi in his and wholy shit can that thing get up and go. its truly unbelievable.

i have nothing wrong with honda though. i actually drive an accord. i just cant see how people decider this a true truck.

  • honda is going to be puting a v8 as a option.for the new restyle ridgline truck.i cant wait!!

  • Just bought a 2009 RTL. Fought wife tooth and nail to get Silverado instead ... glad she won. It may not have the tow cap of the big trucks, and MPG is a little disappointing for a V6, but other than that I love it. Comfortable ride, accelerates smoothly, alot more features than most trucks in price range (power sliding rear window is great touch, and the moonroof is a great consolation as I had to get rid of my beloved BMW Z3). Plus it will hold its value better than the others do.

  • I'm with you bro. I wanted the Tundra, but i'm glad we wound up getting the ridgeline. I just picked up an RTL myself, and i couldn't be happier.

  • Womens truck. Why would you let your wife pick your truck.

  • @EdwardPack1988 Typical response from an insecure male.

  • @Toolshed76 who are you to tell me who I am? You dont know me.

  • @EdwardPack1988 I wasn't telling you who you are, I gave my opinion of you based on your comment. Your response tells me I was right.

  • @Toolshed76 My opinion on you is that your a Know it all. Based on your comment I was right.

  • @mraccent

How many mpg does Silverado get? Doesn't it start with a fairly weak V6 wheres Ridge has 250 hp? The next gen Ridge should get much better mpg.

  • @mraccent

I just checked that Silverado starts with a 195 hp V6 which is pretty much useless for a car that big. I think Silverado gets 20 mpg on the highway with that V6.

  • really? have you ever driven a ridgeline or a tundra? im really sick and tired of idiots saying crap like that. when i bet not even half of the people who say toyota sucks has never even rode in a tundra. i went an traded my 06 Silverado and got me a 08 Tundra. you might ask why well one i needed a new truck, two chevy finance company were being dicks, three GM wasnt willing to "wheel and deal". so im glad i got a Toyota Tundra its way the hell better then Silverado,F-150 or the Ram.

  • The swing gate makes it easier to get access to the inbed trunk. I got to say thst I think my Ridgeline is ugly but it is by far my favorite truck that I have owned lol. My last truck was a Ford Sport Trac and I loved that truck but after driveing this one for a year I would say this one is 100% better. I really dont care if other people like it or not. Great truck for me.

  • whats the point on having the swing gate on the back???

  • to open the in bed my dad has this car its its my fav off all the others...

  • they have a swing gate on it because theres a like a trunk in the back that u life up and u can put ice, water, and drinks bc it can be a cooler plus it drains the ice and water out also

  • a truck made for women, cool, they needed one.

  • Great ride, good look, handles everything I would use it for, home depot runs, lawn mowing, camping, bike riding, just an all around good vehicle.

  • I would never find my shit in that multi sliding, revolving door hydrostatic console

  • A cars a fuckin car, i'm sure if you got one for free you'd be driving it

  • What about the power!!!!!!!!!

  • This is an awesome truck. I love mine! This is the most versatile truck on the road. I not only use mine to haul like a regular pickup but I use it for travel as well. This truck handle so well on the highway that you forget that your driving a truck.

  • great truck, if they can redesign the face a little bit, anyway, I love this truck, keep it up Honda.

  • I wouldn't say that this is a failed copy of the Avalanche, I would say that actually it is a better version of it. first of all, it is mad in Japan, which makes it much more reliable than ANY Chevy. it's off-roading is incredible. Despite what people say, and consumer reports gives it an outstanding rating. And although it's towing capacity is not the highest, it's not supposed to be, the Ridgeline is a sports truck, not made for extreme towing.

  • @JIstudios

mad in Japan? And no it is not made in Japan since Japanese do not drive trucks.

  • @JeremyFuhenstasser maybe he meant the parts are shipped from japan

  • @xvrhernandez349

Probably. Probably not. Shipping from Japan would be expensive so I highly doubt it.

  • @JeremyFuhenstasser hmm, im also positive they are :)

  • @JIstudios wow, everything you said is so true

  • @JIstudios I think they are made in Canada--

  • @JIstudios the avalanche is actually a copy of this. honda is making engines for gm, so gm can fucking copy honda's awesome designs with the contract

  • The Honda has some nice features, but this video doesn't point out any of it's faults. For instance, it gets the same or less mpg as larger competitors; there's a lack of power plants to choose from; it has a doughnut rather than a full size spare; the side-hinged tailgate doesn't work well if your not on level ground. It's not a bad truck at all, just different.

  • wheres Yao Ming in the ridgeline?!?!

  • The Hummer H1 Alpha called. It wants its turning radius back.

  • Just drove one for the first time today. It's very comfortable, smooth, and FAST. The trunk under the truck bed is pretty awesome. When you have a truck, it's nice to have a closed cargo area like that. Very good car... If anybody has this car, let me know what you like most about.

  • ridgeline fast? LOL 0 to 60 is 9 seconds. Not saying this truck sucks or anything. Its a beautiful truck.

  • It's not that I'm saying it's faster than a Ferrari. For the type car it is, it's pretty good... Next time, drive one before posting a comment.

  • honda copy cheverolet? hahahahahahahahahahaha

  • Yup.. Honda copy chevy = epic fail.

Same fuel economy as the Avalanche yet the ridgeline has less towing capacity, less payload and is less capable off road.

  • the ridgeline does have less towing and payload capacity than the avalanche , but i dont think they were trying to compete with chevy at all...ridgelines only come in frontwheel drive/awd...they are also are priced WAY cheaper at 28k-36k , while the avalanche are 35k-46k...id take the vehicle that was cheaper , more reliable , with way better resale value every time as long as i didnt actually NEED a truck for heavy load hauling and heavy towing capacity

  • How could a truck that will start every day when you need it to without fail copy the Avalanche?!!

  • The avalanche was a P.O.S. deathtrap (seriously go look up fatality of that thing)

  • Why did Honda copy the desing of the Avalanche? Its not as if this turd will ever have the towing capacity or off road capablities of the Avalanche.

  • Dodge Ram Hemi is way better than this piece of junk!!..the seats are uncomfortable in this junk

  • then go watch a video about your POS dodge.

  • I LIKE THIS TRUCK.

  • im 16 just got a black one!

  • haha me too

  • you guys are lucky, i "got" one for three days (on the day of my 17th birthday!), i freaked out from happiness, until my parents told me its not ours, we were getting our oddyssey fixed at the dealer's, so they gave us the ridgeline as a trade in or something like that. biggest let down in the world =(

I was absolutely in love with that car

  • I test drove the Ridgeline, that thing is soooo refined. Everything from the engine, transmission, to the ride is so smooth, not at all sloppy but smooth unlike any truck I've every driven. I think it has the smartest auto tranny I've every experieced too, it knows when you're driving up hills and holds gears with out you giving it more gas. It will also downshift under braking to slow the vehicle going down hill to assist with stopping the truck how smart. I really liked it.

  • DUDE, that bed trunk there is SICK. throw some beer n some ice in there and your good to go. PLUS THE PIGS WONT FIND EM!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • haha im so scared that people like you actually exist

  • We missed ya at the rally, BROTHER!!

  • Wow i have looked at 10-15 videos over the Ridgeline and this loser has posted the same comment on EVERYONE!! lol get a life!

  • dude replace those sodas with some BEER!!!!!

  • I thought the same thing.

  • I know, how fucking epic is that shit.

  • i like this truck...i want to get one of these

  • I'd bet, my '97 Ford Ranger could out tow this truck!

  • It's a thing, a truck is a thing. And, it's called ugly.

  • i can agree with you phylumkingdom it way to similar. I think the cheating off the chevy avalanche for sure.

  • cheating eh? lol

  • don't dis on the avalanche..they look nothing alike.

  • can you fit 8x4 material on that truck bed?

  • honda makes the best cars. This truck has been the best though

  • AWESOME!!!!!!!!

  • Does this look eerily similar to the Chevy Avalanche to anyone else or is that just me

  • you just cant afford it.

  • I'd rather spend my money on a real truck.

  • let me guess. you drive a civic

  • Ok, I just saw a video about the Cadillac Escalade EXT and now im looking at this....I just have to say that the Cadillac escalade is a better truck and way more luxurious and more powerfull. But way more expensive

  • A "better truck" huh? I seriously doubt that any Cadillac would last as long a Honda or almost any other import that matter. Sad but true...

As far as "luxury" goes, Cadillac gets the same cheap plastics as everyone else but you get to pay more for them. LOL

  • yea probably honda would last longer but theres a reason it has a $65,000 price tag fully loaded.

  • Longer than what..., a hyundai?

  • Sure, the sometimes misguided notion that "you get what you pay for." In this case you're paying for a nameplate from the same people that make Chevy and Pontiac and who undoubtedly share parts between them. They're all synonymous with "shit" so I'll pass.

You realize that markups on SUV's are enormous right? $65k??? LOL, I'm sorry but if you spend enough time in any vehicle to "justify" spending that kind of money I pity you...

  • I dont have that money lol. But if you can afford it I wouldnt see why not get it. It depends, you might pity people for buying an expensive car but people could pity you for buying something cheap. I dont have a say in it. Are you just saying the Escalade EXT is trash and you have a ridgeline your self? Lots of people get jealous or angry when they see a vehicle that is better than theres. I see that all the time. You cant say the Ridgeline is better than the EXT but they both have advantages

  • Uh..an Acura is just a rebadged Honda...a Lexus is just a rebadged Toyota...lots of manufacturers have a luxury division. I would definately rather have the Escalade than this ...thing.

  • It's not a thing. It's a truck. And, it's called the Honda Ridgeline.

  • I wouldn't even compare this to an Escalade!

  • I don't care what people buy but the fact that some folks try to justify having huge wasteful vehicles because of the TIME they spend driving (commuting etc) is idiotic. Question - don't you people feel like morons driving miles and miles to work every day??? Move back into town for Chrissakes!

Nah, I do have a Honda but it's NOT a Ridgeline. It's a '93 Accord that's been paid off for a LONG time and still gets twice the mileage of many NEW suv's. If people pity that then eh, whatever.

  • How can you compare this truck to an Escalade?

  • Obviously if you would have taken the time to read past posts you would have understood...but you make it very obvious that you live your life by saying whatever first comes to mind...even when you have no idea what you are talking about...reply to me when you figure everything out.

  • Here it is for you:

  • Lol..., actually, I was agreeing with you...but, I was saying..., why would you even put this truck(Honda Ridgeline)and, a Cadillac Escalade EXT. in the same segment?

  • Ok thank god!!! Sorry about blowing up but I'm so used to having to be defensive on Honda videos because alot of people think they are gods gift to earth. lol

  • Lol..., I can relate to that! ;-)

  • Try one. They are great. However, this is a light truck. It can't compete with a Duramax Diesel or that kind of trucks. That's a different segment.

  • there truck.. not an actual escalade cadilacs

  • I'm curious how someone can do a review of such an ugly truck with a straigt face? I mean it looks like shit!

  • ppl ppl what is better

    2007 Cadillac Esclade

    or

    2007 Chevrolet Avalanche LTZ

  • A very smart truck, I love the trunk. I know it's not an offroader but most people who own trucks dont go off road and dont need or want to go off road, but they end up wasting twice as much gas and getting a bouncy uncomfortable ride to boot.

  • The only reason why you don't see more people driving a Ridgeline because it's so freaking ugly. Honda could have made it the most powerful truck in the world and no one would want to buy it because it looks like shit!

  • What do you mean, not see more people driving them? I see them all over the place.

I know it's not a capital-T Truck, but it's not pretending to be one. If you need a full-size truck, you buy an F-150 or Silverado. The Ridgeline is for guys who need a mix between a car and a truck.

  • And you are very intelligent by putting it in that way. Sure the Ridgeline isn't a typical truck. That is it's charm and why it has garnered so many rewards for 2006, including Motortrend's Truck of the Year. It isn't a vehicle for anyone, and I'm glad. I definitely wouldn't want to see everyone driving one!

  • A Honda Ridgeline is 3/4 of what American trucks are, but it's plenty sufficient for what most guys need a truck for. They're not meant to compete with the Chevy Silverado and such, they're for your average Joe driver.

Give one a try before you write them off. They're very practical.

  • So using words such as ``pussies`` and ``fags`` make you any smarter? I think not.

  • its pretty cool but its a failure because no one is gonna want to be caught towing with a honda

  • Not true. The Ridgeline's problem is the current low towing limit of 5000 pounds. I own a 2007 Ridgeline, and cannot wait for the chance to tow. Those who have say it handles trailered loads quite well.

The Ridgeline is for those who want something different in their "truck," like more cargo hauling capacity (trunk, bed, and backseat) and something that is going to be reliable.

  • look, the big 3 did it to themselves, i sell hondas for living, but i'm a gm person myself, y do i sell hondas?because there is oney on big 3 cars, y? because they are so desperate to sell these cars that they sell them for nothing, enterprise buys 20 cars and pays 250 over cost for god sakes, what happens when entrprise is done with the car after a year, they sell it for less then a half price what they paid for it, there you go, domestics don't hold their value, do hondas have daily rentals?

  • Nice truck but I wish it had at least a 6000 lb towing capability.

  • smitty u dont read the newspaper do u

  • Not cool at all

  • Not bad but would definitely rather have a Dakota

  • Why?, you'd rather pay for junk? There is no comparison to the Ridgeline...it puts away all trucks in this category. Research and read and you will know.

  • Um, Dakota isn't junk...unless you're one of those people who are just biased against American cars in general. The ridgeline is based on a car chassis and has a car engine and I believe a car transmission also. It isn't as heavy duty as the Dakota but it probably has a nicer interior, hence the much higher price.

  • Yes, I am biased to American branded vehicles, they are junk, they may be getting better, but still playing catch up. As far as the Ridgeline, car chassis?, car transmission? The platform is from the Pilot, let me remind you, that's an SUV which is in the truck family. Engine? Doesn't matter which vehicle it was put in use first, an engine is an engine, and likewise with a transmission. Many engines and transmissions work with a variety of models.

  • bs, American cars are not junk we have 3 of them; all very reliable. On the other hand a friend of mine bought a brand new Accord a couple years ago and it's had so many problems I had to laugh whenever I heard about it while it was costing them thousands. So forgive me if I'm fed up with all the 'imports are better' crap. The Pilot is also based on a car chassis (I'm pretty sure) so it wouldn't matter if the ridgeline is based on that.

  • You either have had extremely good luck or you've just never owned a foreign automobile. If you want a real laugh, pick up a Consumer's Report magazine and flip through their recommended vehicles and non recommended ones, you'll be really surprised. I guess the next thing I'll hear is that the Japanese owns Consumer Reports....LOL!!

  • I heard that the Toyota Tundra and Camry V6 are now on Consumer Reports' list of used vehicles to avoid because of transmission problems and such. JD powers reports the top 5 manufacturers currently for reliability is #1 Lexus, #2 Buick #3 Lincoln #4 Mercury and #5 Honda. I tend to believe them because every single American car we've owned has been very very reliable but a lot of people I know who bought a Japanese car had many expensive problems. 'Good luck' has nothing to do with it.

  • I also have read that Toyota's initial buyer's survey on some vehicles including the Tundra and Camry have slipped for the 2007 model year, this does not represent the past history, I'm sure Toyota is looking hard into this. Also, directly from Consumer Reports: "Overall, Asian models still dominate in reliability, accounting for 34 of the 39 models in the Most reliable new car list. Thirty-one are Japanese and three are South Korean."

  • JD Powers report quality and dependability not reliability. The top 10 in overall quality are: Lexus, Porsche, Honda,Infinity, Jaguar, Lincoln, Mercedes Benz, Mercury and Toyota. The top 5 in dependability are listed in Aphabetical order and not by ranking because they all scored high: Buick, Cadillac, Honda, Lexus and Mercury. The overall picture tells the story, not just a few surveys and rankings.

  • Also, I don't put a lot of weight on FD Powers, they're not a non-biased company, they don't test vehicles, the only do surveys. With that, there's too much parity and inconsistencies. While some owners can be more critical of the vehicle they drive and others don't care, so the surveys will be all over the place. Consumer Reports actually test and judge vehicles subjectively, independently and without influence.

  • It's ok, I don't put a lot of weight on Consumer Reports either, I think they are biasedl, in my personal experience and everybody I know is exactly the opposite of what they say. All our American cars have been reliable and the Japanese cars had as many or more problems. I would never send thousands of my hard earned dollars to some overseas company because of something I read in a magazine.

  • Here's a fact for you, GM and Ford is closing 13 factories each and Chrysler is closing 8 I think? while foreign competition is building new plants here in the US every couple of years. That speaks for itself. So who's buying what and who's not buying what...and why...is the question you have to answer.

  • Sure Toyota makes some of it's cars here and claims to be all American but they don't allow unions in their factories and all the profits go back to Japan anyway. Btw the American auto industry still employs vastly more of US autoworkers than the Japanese companies do.

  • No, they make a lot of models here, do the research. Remember, Ford and GM both build vehicles in Mexico, so your argument there don't hold water. They don't claim to be all american, even american cars can't claim that...read the window sticker. As far as unions, I'm sure GM, Ford and Chrysler are grateful to them now....for bringing them down. You make a quality product and the sensible people will buy it...and if not...your factories will close.

  • They may make 'a lot' of models here but it doesn't change the fact that they use far more imported materials and they don't use unions which means they can pay whatever rock bottom wages they want to, the WalMart of auto companies. Domestic quality is coming up and Toyota quality is going down, just do the reasearch and you'll come to the same conclusion.

  • this is not a real truck...but if u need a mid-size suv/truck i guess its an okay auto

  • Guess you have no idea. Define "real truck" for all of us ed69805... This should be educational.

  • I love this truck! Good job on the video!

  • Very nice. I test drove a new 2008 RTS Honda Ridgeline. Drives smoother than most other trucks. I love the way it handles, and its V6 engine which comes standard with heavy duty fans and cooling systems. The audio mounted controls and the back seat air vents for the passengers were very nice. Overall, I would love to get one.

  • the 2008 has not been made yet. this is the 2007

  • This is indeed a 2008 model. The 08 Ridgeline went on sale in June of this year.

  • This is 2007 model, it's Aberdeen Green, not available anymore for 2008. I know because I have one. Also, if you look at the 2008 exterior paint colors in the brochure, no more green.

  • Our test vehicle was in Nimbus Gray Metallic.

  • Really, the color clarity is not sharp with the video, it looks like green, but I didn't test the vehicle. Kudos to a good review with video.

  • Tundra is a beter truck and titan

  • It may be, but it (the Tundra) is in the FULL SIZE category. The Ridgeline is mid size at best.
