he is HUGE !!!! nice 'little' setup, only reason that tank is too small really is maybe a little bit of hieght but depth should be length of fish and a half, not too bad tho, plenty of room and seemed quite bright, even better for him if he's got a bigger place now ;) sometimes you get these people that hear oh a fish has to have room and they think they know how to operate open heart surgery, just those pr*cks that cause people undue problems and stress, nuff said loved the vid :)

I think the Length of the tank is fine

It just needs more width/depth and more height.

I think a 6 foot x 6 foot x 3 foot would be a reasonable size.

Wow! If you held him up infront of your face, he would completely block your head, and more. I've never seen such a big fish be kept before. Has he ever broke any heaters? and is your tank made of acrylic? I've seen a gourami this big before.......at the Toronto Zoo!!

Hmm, nice Giant Gourami. One of the aquatics stores I shop at has a large tank with oscars, GTs, a large Plec and a Giant Gourami. Really nice fish, they seem very intelligent and peaceful, as I always go and watch it whenever I go shopping there. The owner of the store says that Giant Gourami are intelligent fish and also vegetarian, he feeds it strawberries and cucumbers!

I ate Deep Fried Medium size Giant Gouramy on my last trip to Bali, Indonesia for US$1. it's meat is the best among all freshwater fish! u guys should definitely try if you ever go down there. ^_^

gouramis have an organ at the back of the head called a labrynth it allows them to breathe atospheric air (like us) thats what is doing my dwarf gouramis do it to (some labrynth fish become so reliant on the organ that they drown...) what do you fed the pleco? only time ive seen plecos do that is when they are starving (unless you "pleco" is really a chinese algae eater, which are fucking bastards for things like that).

in my experiance many large angelfish are more aggressive than arowana, my breeding pair where 12 inches tall and had to be separated as they were bullying an oscar.
