This is why there is a lot of these Joe Blows out there teaching twisting the gospel like he said. Lol.. The cheerleader guy was heard on the video too..
How about the new revised standard version or the NRSV. It was published in the 1950s and is based on William tyndale's translation of the New Testament. First it was the American Standard Version and then it was revised again and called the New Revised Standard Version. Give me a break people. It's just too funny. I'm sticking with the original Bible thank you. The one with all God's Word in it, not just the parts some Parliament members decided I should have.
I didn't realize that the Bible was originally written in the King's English. I always thought that it was written in Hebrew and Greek. These translations are not changed from what was originally said. In fact the NIV is one of the most accurate translations of the Bible out there. The reason the NIV and NLT and the Message translations were made were under the same reason why Luther wanted the Bible translated into German instead of just Latin, so that the common man can read and understand.
Look here you jerk you know exactly what context i put that in. Unless you are saying that Jesus was alive in our generation. You seem really intelligent. No wonder you hate the KJV you cant even understand a simple comment in 4th grade English.
@danant75 This was called the "Authorized" because it was authorized by King James, not because it was authorized by God." True. The KJ translators didn't claim to be perfectly translating from one language to another. Neither did Moses or Matthew when they translated and wrote from one language to another. Did they do it perfectly? Remember, the modern versions come from catholicism. God is DEFINATELY NOT in that. If the KJB isn't perfectly preserved for us, where is God's word today?
With the exception of the Mormon, Catholic, and Jehovah Witness translations, (but even using some of them) I can take any modern translation and show you that there is only one God, that Jesus is indeed that God manifested in the flesh, and the plan of Salvation. Beyond that this is a whole lot of folks trying to put up walls that make them feel special at the exclusion of everyone else. WE'VE got a higher standard than those other "so-called" Christians.
@phaxad SOME new versions may have misprints or errors, the King James has many such typos as well. Absolom could not have stood in the gate for 40 years, 4 years is the correct translation. Other versions get this right. Easter should not be in KJV, rather Passover. Other versions get this right. FTR the majority of my study time is done in the KJV, but it is an error to condemn other versions. God did not speak in English, so to hold this version up as God's ordained version is hypocritical.
Hi Brother in Christ, hey I m DEAF. but i not like old fashion way. @danant75 Several times this is one John20:28 where Thomas calls Jesus my lord my God. I dont have aESV so I cant compare. But I have been shown before the differences and it is quite obvious.
@frnzkuester I posted the scriptures, I don't see where any violence has been done, or corruption of the Word. ESV is a word to word translation, that uses the same manuscripts that KJV used as well as older ones that have been more recently discovered. To arrogantly hold up KJV at the exclusion of all other translations is hypocritical. It is an ENGLISH translation. If you want purity learn Greek and Hebrew, and the customs of the day as well. The Truth can be found in many of the modern trans.
Gimmie That Old Time Religion. We will follow Zarathustra, Zarathustra like we use to,
Im a Zarathustra booster, and hes good enough for me.
In the church of Aphrodite, The priestess wears a see through nightie, Shes a mighty righteous sightie,
And shes good enough for me! We will worship like the Druids, Dancing naked in the woods, Drinking strange fermented fluids, And its good enough for me!
Give me that old time religion Cause its good enough for me!
Worshiping the translation in the KJV is like worshiping men. It's a book that was translated by men. Men are imperfect. Did God Himself come down and translate the Bible to create the KJV? I don't think so.
Why was the Word translated into English in the first place? If people in 1611 thought the same as people do today about the KJV, we'd all have to learn Greek before we would be able to understand what's written in the Bible.
@donignacio2000 did Matthew translate PERFECTLY from the O.T. hebrew into greek? how bout Moses, did he translate PERFECTLY his conversations w/ the egyptian pharoh to hebrew?
@donignacio2000 if you think God was lying when He said that He would preserve His word forever, how can you make it to heaven? 2Pet 1:21 For the prophecy came not in old time by the will of man: but holy men of God spake as they were moved by the Holy Ghost. Mt 19:26 But Jesus beheld them, and said unto them, With men this is impossible; but with God all things are possible.--you're making your bed in hell, & one day you'll have to sleep in it
Wow, I can't have a theological discussion with someone without being threatened with hell.
At first it seemed like you were saying that there was no way men could have perfectly translated everything in the Bible. Now, it seems like you're saying that if you think that, you're going to hell. What exactly are you saying? Are you saying ALL Bible translations are correct because the Bible says they are?
The Bible is about the message and not about the grammar.
@donignacio2000 Matthew and Moses did translate perfectly into other languages. God did promise to perserve His word forever. He gave the Authorized Version for the english speaking nations. if you don't believe God has the power to preserve His word in all languages, then you must reject anything else he said or put forth, esp. regarding Jesus being the only way to heaven.
I would ask you to think and reflect what you just wrote and see that your arguments are flawed on so many levels.
You said Matthew and Moses translated the Bible into other languages. The King James Bible was written in the 1600s and both of those men were dead. The English language as we know it today didn't exist when Matthew or Moses were alive.
@donignacio2000 nowhere did i say english was around since Moses nor Matthew. that's a quasi-red herring. w/out much arguement the Authorized Version solidified the english language (common spellings for example.) p.s.-no one spoke that way in 1611. read the preface to the A.V. and you'll see the translators speak like we do.
Furthermore, you seem to be claiming that everyone who ever translated a Bible is perfect or was at least possessed with the Holy Spirit when they wrote the Bible. It's a strange argument, but I can't comment on it since I've never translated a Bible.
Your last statement is really mind-boggling. I would like you to name me a translation of the Bible that doesn't claim that Jesus wasn't the only way to heaven. Don't they all say that but with different grammar?
@donignacio2000 i never once said all Bible translators are inspired. i'm not sure if you are intentionally or unintentionally misrepresenting what I said. if you want to believe the niv (not inspired version) is of God, seeing how there were sodomites on the committee, go ahead. many perversions in Jn 1:1 say the Word, which is Jesus, was A god. WRONG! It says He WAS God. the perversions take away from the diety of Christ. all I can do is show you the way
OK, now I see what you are saying. You're saying that anyone who reads a version of the Bible other than the KJV is hell-bound because you disagree with the grammar. Of course your argument is useless, because the NIV states very explicitly that Jesus was God in many other places. You can read the KJV if that's your preference, but you're out-of-bounds with your claim that people who read the NIV are going to Hell.
I would like for you to tell me how you know that the KJV is perfect.
@donignacio2000 there you go again. i didn't say that if one reads a perversion they're off to hell. but WATCH OUT! I gave you one instance where it removes Jesus from being God, which is the cornerstone of the faith. it also says Jesus was kicked out of heaven instead of lucifer. (Isa 14:12-Rev 22:16) now, if you don't think that's another gospel, & think that's perfectly ok, well, i don't know what I can do for you. just remember, satan twisted God's word to Eve.
Perhaps it removed one instance, but it left in all the other instances.
But I'm not even convinced the difference between "a" and "the" constitutes a perversion. The Trinity is also an important cornerstone of Christianity meaning that God is in three forms. Jesus is one of the forms. So, keeping that in mind, is there really such a huge difference saying Jesus was "a" God or "the" God?
I'm still curious how you know that the KJV is perfect. You seem to be avoiding this question.
@donignacio2000 I'm glad you brought up the Trinity, or the Godhead as it's referred to. Jn 1:1 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. 1Jn 5:7 For there are three that bear record in heaven, the Father, the Word, and the Holy Ghost: and these three are one.--the first changes Jesus to just a god, and the 2nd is completely removed from the niv and others
Dan 3:24-25 Then Nebuchadnezzar the king was astonied, and rose up in haste, and spake, and said unto his counsellors, Did not we cast three men bound into the midst of the fire? They answered and said unto the king, True, O king. He answered and said, Lo, I see four men loose, walking in the midst of the fire, and they have no hurt; and the form of the fourth is like the Son of God.--this is Jesus in the fire. many false ones say it looked like a son of the gods. do you see it?
@donignacio2000 I'm not avoiding anything, but if you can't, or won't, see how the devil is in the details w/ these perversions, then no amount of me trying to convince you the A.V. is God's word for the english speaking people will matter
@donignacio2000 if a person doesn't see themselves as breakers of God's Laws and in need of a Saviour, then there's no need to give them the good news of Jesus Christ cause they'll trample it under foot. no different here. good luck w/ your catholic based perversions
Are you not answering the question, because you're too arrogant and prideful to admit that you don't know?
God gave you a brain. You should actually think about what you believe and know why you believe such things instead of blindly following the words of your preacher who (let's face it) may or may not be mildly insane. This reasoning process will actually help you strengthen your faith as it did mine.
u didnt ask me how do i no. but ill tell u the reoson i know that its perfect b\c the Kjv says it say dont change the crossin of a t and a dottin of a i. i know i didnt say that rite but do them other so call bibles say that i dont think so.and the niv was written by a lesbian!
@Godissogood12 I'm convinced that the lesbian rumor was completely made up. I have not seen credible evidence of that.
Where does the KJV claim that there is only one English version of the Bible that is perfect, and it is the KJV? Furthermore, wasn't the KJV translated by humans? If you're saying that the KJV translation is perfect, then you're saying these humans are perfect. The only perfect human manifestation I'm aware of is Jesus Christ.
@donignacio2000 all we are saying is God will presearve his work till the end of time. and we beleive that the jkv is the best in english. not that the 1611 peaple were moved by god, God will keep his promise and presearve his word . you have to choose with one is right cause they all are not
@danant75 This was called the "Authorized" because it was authorized by King James, not because it was authorized by God." True. The KJ translators didn't claim to be perfectly translating from one language to another. Neither did Moses or Matthew when they translated and wrote from one language to another. @donignacio2000 When did anybody "worship the Bible"? We worship the Lord, but we base our doctrine and practice of worship on the Bible (KJV 1611 for English speakers). I am sorry to say but if you are incapable of reading the KJV 1611 then you also cannot read classical Shakespeare and by definition are functionally illiterate. Believe it or not, back in the day, Greek and Hebrew were actually required school courses. That was when people actually cared about learning.
@WorshipInTruth Who said I was incapable of reading the KJV? All I'm saying is that it's difficult for some people (not me) to read the KJV and understand its contents. You can hurl insults at people all you like about being "functionally illiterate," but that fact doesn't change. You seem to think that the Bible should be read and understood by an elite class of people who can afford a top-flight education, but I think it should be read and understood by everyone.
@donignacio2000 If somebody is an illiterate then they should be have the Bible read and taught to them trusted individuals. Education can be affordable to all.
@WorshipInTruth The KJV is a product of the 17th Century. Since then, English has evolved. That's not something I made up; it's a stone cold fact. It's not "illiterate" of people to realize that certain words and phrases have become archaic over the course of the last 400 years, and they would rather rely on someone else's modern translation than to take up a PhD-level English education to come up with their own reliable one.
@donignacio2000 PhD-level education in English?? Are you kidding? It is basic english that any 6th grader should be able to read. And none of the new "bibles" have proven reliable at all, all based on faulty manuscripts and full of errors.
@donignacio2000 Yeah great so im sure Jesus was reading out of a modern translation of Hebrew in his time. Christ and Israel at that time spoke Aramaic, as im sure you know.. The Ecclesiastical Language of that day was ancient Hebrew. Yet today we have to rush out and get everyone's rinky dinky translation cause we dont wanna spend an extra hour a day learning something that a 4th grader can learn in a snap. Everyone wants their "Bible" to read just as bland as a newspaper....
@Vikuulin If you're going to argue this, then you shouldn't be reading the KJV at all but the original Hebrew translations. If a fourth grader can easily understand the contents of the KJV in its proper context (not true, by the way, on the Planet Earth), then as an adult, you should be able to quickly learn ancient Hebrew and read the manuscripts as "God intended." No, you don't need any sort of formalized training to understand ancient Hebrew; you can learn it on your lunch hour. (Sarcasm.)
Why is his message so different from another video it is totally contrary to each other! DID he just go through a change of understanding the gospel? I am just trying to understand.
@danant75 The KJV was not good enough for Paul. Not unless paul was still around in 1611. Which that would make him what over 1000 years old?
KJV is not accurate. I mean my word who goes around talking saying ye or thy. We are in the 21st century. The KJV is more like reading shakespsear. If you like that kind of talk but as far as study its old and many of the words in it have a different meaning then they did in 1611. Personally i like NLT.
@danant75 Paul of Tarsus (the apostle Paul) lived from 5 AD to 67AD. The KJV of the Bible was compiled from 1604-1611by the Kings Printer Robert Baker. The Apostle Paul would not know what a KJV Bible was, since he had been DEAD for 1544 years by the time it was compiled. And in any case the KJV was translated from Hebrew & Greek scriptures Paul (and Jesus for that matter) did not speak ENGLISH, if you are reading ANY version of the Bible written in ENGLISH you ARE reading a translation!
The translation of the Seventy dissenteth from the Original in many places, neither doth it come near it, for perspicuity, gravity, majesty; yet which of the Apostles did condemn it? Condemn it? Nay, they used it,
King James "Translators To The Reader" Preface to the original 1611 KJV.
Now to the latter we answer; that we do not deny, nay we affirm and avow, that the very meanest translation of the Bible in English, set forth by men of our profession, (for we have seen none of theirs of the whole Bible as yet) containeth the word of God, nay, is the word of God.
King James "Translators To The Reader" Preface to the original 1611 KJV.
Found jesus who loves you, you are stupid woman. Authority is the Bible, the AUTHORIZED KING JAMES HOLY BIBLE, and the Lord Jesus Christ is that Bible. Any thing you need to know about Jesus is in that Bible. And your jesus is another jesus, it's a butterfly. Your jesus is in your perversions, and every perversion is another jesus, which is made up by man just for you to suit, your life style.
Why contempt 4 this Pastor? It's only a sermon if YOU agree w/the message? And who are YOU 2 judge that this man hasn't done great things? Isn't it pious & outrageously arrogant 2 judge that this man has yet 2 find the Jesus who loves him? He needs ur prayers b/c u deem him misguided since his beliefs R not yours? B4 u try 2 dethrone our Lord & usurp His judgement, consider reassessing the way in which you've been handling the hate w/i your own heart.
hey MICHAELMEMISBACL, you are completely wrong about this. Not all doctrines are derived from a single word or even a single verse but through harmonization and systematic theology. I strongly disagree with Steven Anderson. I think he is a false teacher who uses superficial intrpretation and bad eisegesis. but you are wrong about the eternality of God's justice.
Yep; I believe the Bible and I know that it does not teach free will, and that it teaches that God operates ALL things, absolutely all things, according to his will.
Q: What Bible did KJV ONLY Protestants use before the KJV was written in 1611?
A: KJV ONLY Protestants did not exist before 1611!
Q: Which Bible did the Apostles use after the death of Christ?
A: None - The only Gospel that they had were the Oral Traditions, which still exist only in the Catholic Church, until the New Testament was written, and the Catholic Church confirmed the Cannon!
If you mean the Latin Vulgate; no. The original New Testament was in the Greek. I recommend the Concordant Literal New Testament at concordant(dot)org; the claims of it having contradictions in any way are false because within the CLNT a given Greek word is consistently translated into a given English word, and not multiple English words in different place like the KJV does.
If you looking unto Jesus, this is for you. JOHN 14:6. I AM THE WAY, THE TRUTH, AND THE LIFE......Start looking for his truth, because with out the truth you don't have life.
AUTHORIZED KING JAMES BIBLE IS THE WORD OF GOD. All other perverted bibles, make GOD a liar. Friend's you cannot correct GOD. ROMANS 3:4. GOD FORBID:YEA, LET GOD BE TRUE, BUT EVERY MAN A LIAR; If you'll make GOD a liar you can end up in HELL. REV.21:8. All new bibles are Devil's bibles.
where's your documentation for this foolish assertion? Have you ever translated the bible (New Testament) from Greek to English? I have parts of it and let me say this- your beloved KJV is the worst translation of the lot!!!
The only real New T. is the original Greek and what the Greek words actually mean; trust me the KJV translate the word "aion" inconsistently and in many instance incorrectly; this word "aion" is the basis of the doctrine that was added to the biblefrom the paganism of Egypt, the doctrine being "eternal" hell; the word "eternal" is translated from aion, but it should not because Jesus said "I will be with you until the end of the... look it up in Strong's... AION. So aion has an end, not eternal.
I don't recall hearing the preacher use one "Thee" "Thus" or "Thou" as he was telling his stories or speaking to his congregation. If we don't walk around talking that way, how can we expect this new generation to ever understand what the Bible says. We would have to teach them an entirely different version of English. The Holy Spirit will lead us into all truth and righteousness reguardless of what translation we may use. Are Africans that don't speak English reading King James English?
I don't recall hearing the preacher use one "Thee" "Thus" or "Thou" as he was telling his stories or speaking to his congregation. Actually most of the folks in Africa use the KJV. A lot of folks that speak English as a second language use the KJV and are just fine using it. If you don't have the Holy Ghost you won't understand the King James.
Most languages distinguish between you plural and you singular. The English language doesn't. So they had to use thee, thou, thine, ye etc. to convey who the person was talking to. A single person or a group? Thus is still used today, btw.
Who was Jesus' father? God or Joseph? Many new "versions" say Joseph is the father. This is just one example out of thousands of omissions and changes in the new "versions". Not changes into synonyms but into new words with other meanings.
Animals appeared AFTER man but BEFORE woman: The story goes like this: God makes Adam and then god makes plants and then god takes Adam and plunks him down, will he, nil he, in the middle of this "garden." And God thought he looked a bit lonely so he made all these animals and brought them to Adam to see if he'd like one for a wife. (!) But Adam wasn't satisfied with a mercat or a Komodo dragon so finally god made Eve and they all... Genesis chapter 2.
"Nowhere in the Bible have I read what wrote" Try reading more: MAN MADE FROM DIRT: Genesis 2:7 the Lord God formed the man from the dust of the ground Genesis 3:19 "..you return to the ground from which you were made. For you were made from dust, and to dust you will return. Ecclesiastes 3:19, 20 man has no advantage over the beasts, for all is vanity. All go to one place. All are from the dust, and to dust all return. 1 Corinthians 15:47 The first man came from the dust of the earth
SUN REVOLVES AROUND EARTH: The Bible often says "the sun comes up" and "the sun goes down", Ecclesiastes 1:5 It says "the sun stood still" and "the shadow of the sun moved back ten degrees" and then it says THAT means the sun went up by ten degrees. 2 Kings 20:9 - 11 It says Joshua said... "O sun, stand still over Gibeon..." The sun stopped in the middle of the sky and delayed going down about a full day. Joshua 10:12, 13 Oh, and then Psalm 19:4-6 describes the sun's circuit.
I think the original year consisted of 360 days, represented in the 360 degrees of a circle. The Flood slowed the earth rotation down and we eventually got 365 days.
"you are distorting the truth" FLAT EARTH: Isaiah 40:22 says the earth is a CIRCLE. Daniel 4:10-11a tree that is as tall as the heavens can be seen from everywhere on the earth Matthew 4:8 has Jesus viewing the whole earth from a tall mountain. Revelation 1:7 says every eye will see Jesus coming in the clouds. Daniel, Matthew, and Revelation all require a flat earth. Well, either flat or bowl-shaped. Don't be so quick to judge and accuse. You happen to be wrong.
The hebrew word also means sphere. Also, look at the earth from any angle and you see a circle. The tree is symbolic for the tree of life, which is Jesus. None of your objections are valid. Dirt contains all the elements the human body is made of. Now, most Christians believe in the heliocentric theory, but in actuality, the geocentric theory has never been disproven, so I haven't dismissed it.
Nope. The plants and animals were made before Adam and Eve were made. In the first chapter God created the animals and humans. The second chapter is a detailed account of what transpired during the creation of humans. God FORMED the already created animals from the ground in chapter two, so that Adam could name them. In the first passages of chapter 2 we are still on the 6th day. It's a detailed re-cap.
Genesis chapter 1 Verse 21- God made the birds (day 5) V 25- God made the wild animals (day 6) V 27- God created man in his own image.. male and female he created them Now chapter 2 V7- God made man from the dust of the ground V19- God made birds and ALL the beasts (same day!) V22- God made a woman from the man's rib (because he didn't want to marry an aardvark or a zebra) It's a direct contradiction. They cannot both be true.
I am an atheist that studies the bible. I use thec Jewish publication society for old testiment and nkjv or kjv for nt. But I use them all, but I dont take them literalaly. They are myth and legend to me.
I'm a Southern Baptist that uses the NKJV or the ESV... Is there a place in heaven for a person as wicked as me? I was lead to the Lord with a Catholic Bible, is that a problem?
Saved by the grace of God brother! You need to watch this guys other videos, he has got some real issues. The KJV, although a good translation, will NOT save you. I thank God for His grace and mercy, and that He loves me for who I am, not what the church says I should be! This guy needs to understand the Word of God is not the KJV that is merely a translation. Just as the NIV, ASV, or Spanish Bible for that matter. We should pray for Him, although it is hard since he is so confused.
KJV all the way, REVELATION 22-19 SAYS AND IF ANY MAN SHALL TAKE AWAY FROM THE WORDS OF THE BOOK OF THIS PROPHECY, GOD SHALL TAKE AWAY HIS PART OUT OF THE HOLY CITY, AND FROM THINGS WHICH ARE WRITTEN IN THIS BOOK.
I'm not so sure that's a good explanation for using the KJV. The New Testament says, "new." I'm not getting rid of it. Incidentally, the KJV you're using isn't from 1611. It's from 1835. You should change your name to sanderson1835. They made it new, so people could better understand it. It's the NKJV of its time. People probably preached against it, too.
I prefer the HCSB. I've read the KJV all my life. I'm to a point, though, where I'm only going to preach Jesus. God's bigger than versions.
The Bible says you should be like Christ, not Patrick Henry. Freedom in Christ, is not like American freedom. Preach to Word, not the Republican Party.
How do you know that??? because its older? What makes the KJV perfect is there is nothing else to compare it to in the time period it was printed. I use KJV but my wife uses NIV because it's easier to read, I have yet to find any discreprencies that would mislead or misenterpret any passages. The NIV(i know there are others)was translated from the original text not the KJV. Most pastors I have sat under quote from both during a sermon as most people are mixed in their bible choices.
I believe the King James 'version' is the perfect Word of god in the English language. the other 'versions' are corrupted severely. king james all the way!
Are the scriptures spiritually discerned? Does the Holy Spirit interpret the scriptures for us? Do different translations hinder the Holy Spirit from ministering? If so than "Men" have power over God with their pen.. See how silly you sound..God said He would preserve his word and for you to say that this other translation is not accurate and is tainted you are calling God a liar.
@TheKenny4292 And yet that wasn't originally published in The King James Bible... Modern English wasn't even a language.

Other versions get this right. Easter should not be in KJV, rather Passover. Other versions get this right. FTR the majority of my study time is done in the KJV, but it is an error to condemn other versions. God did not speak in English, so to hold this version up as God's ordained version is hypocritical.

Worshiping the translation in the KJV is like worshiping men. It's a book that was translated by men. Men are imperfect. Did God Himself come down and translate the Bible to create the KJV? I don't think so.
Why was the Word translated into English in the first place? If people in 1611 thought the same as people do today about the KJV, we'd all have to learn Greek before we would be able to understand what's written in the Bible.
donignacio2000 2 years ago 6
@donignacio2000 did Matthew translate PERFECTLY from the O.T. hebrew into greek? how bout Moses, did he translate PERFECTLY his conversations w/ the egyptian pharoh to hebrew?
filoIII 1 year ago
@filoIII Probably not. That's pretty much my point. It's not the translations themselves, but the truths behind them.
donignacio2000 1 year ago
@donignacio2000 if you think God was lying when He said that He would preserve His word forever, how can you make it to heaven? 2Pet 1:21 For the prophecy came not in old time by the will of man: but holy men of God spake as they were moved by the Holy Ghost. Mt 19:26 But Jesus beheld them, and said unto them, With men this is impossible; but with God all things are possible.--you're making your bed in hell, & one day you'll have to sleep in it
filoIII 1 year ago
@filoIII
The Bible is about the message and not about the grammar.
donignacio2000 1 year ago
@donignacio2000 Matthew and Moses did translate perfectly into other languages. God did promise to perserve His word forever. He gave the Authorized Version for the english speaking nations. if you don't believe God has the power to preserve His word in all languages, then you must reject anything else he said or put forth, esp. regarding Jesus being the only way to heaven.
filoIII 1 year ago
@filoIII
(Post 1/2)
donignacio2000 1 year ago
@donignacio2000 nowhere did i say english was around since Moses nor Matthew. that's a quasi-red herring. w/out much arguement the Authorized Version solidified the english language (common spellings for example.) p.s.-no one spoke that way in 1611. read the preface to the A.V. and you'll see the translators speak like we do.
filoIII 1 year ago
@filoIII
(Post 2/2)
donignacio2000 1 year ago
@donignacio2000 i never once said all Bible translators are inspired. i'm not sure if you are intentionally or unintentionally misrepresenting what I said. if you want to believe the niv (not inspired version) is of God, seeing how there were sodomites on the committee, go ahead. many perversions in Jn 1:1 say the Word, which is Jesus, was A god. WRONG! It says He WAS God. the perversions take away from the diety of Christ. all I can do is show you the way
filoIII 1 year ago
@filoIII
I would like for you to tell me how you know that the KJV is perfect.
donignacio2000 1 year ago
@donignacio2000 there you go again. i didn't say that if one reads a perversion they're off to hell. but WATCH OUT! I gave you one instance where it removes Jesus from being God, which is the cornerstone of the faith. it also says Jesus was kicked out of heaven instead of lucifer. (Isa 14:12-Rev 22:16) now, if you don't think that's another gospel, & think that's perfectly ok, well, i don't know what I can do for you. just remember, satan twisted God's word to Eve.
filoIII 1 year ago
@filoIII
You seem to be avoiding this question.
donignacio2000 1 year ago
@donignacio2000 I'm glad you brought up the Trinity, or the Godhead as it's referred to. Jn 1:1 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. 1Jn 5:7 For there are three that bear record in heaven, the Father, the Word, and the Holy Ghost: and these three are one.--the first changes Jesus to just a god, and the 2nd is completely removed from the niv and others

He answered and said, Lo, I see four men loose, walking in the midst of the fire, and they have no hurt; and the form of the fourth is like the Son of God.--this is Jesus in the fire. many false ones say it looked like a son of the gods. do you see it?

@filoIII
You're still not answering the question. It's important that you answer it, because that's the entire basis of your argument.
How do you know the KJV is perfect?
Once you address this, then we can properly address what the Devil did to taint the newer versions.
donignacio2000 1 year ago
@donignacio2000 if a person doesn't see themselves as breakers of God's Laws and in need of a Saviour, then there's no need to give them the good news of Jesus Christ cause they'll trample it under foot. no different here. good luck w/ your catholic based perversions
filoIII 1 year ago
@filoIII
Are you not answering the question, because you're too arrogant and prideful to admit that you don't know?
God gave you a brain. Where does the KJV claim that there is only one English version of the Bible that is perfect, and it is the KJV? Furthermore, wasn't the KJV translated by humans? danant75 1 year ago
If the KJB isn't perfectly preserved for us, where is God's word today?
filoIII 1 year ago
@donignacio2000 When did anybody "worship the Bible"? We worship the Lord, but we base our doctrine and practice of worship on the Bible (KJV 1611 for English speakers). I am sorry to say but if you are incapable of reading the KJV 1611 then you also cannot read classical Shakespeare and by definition are functionally illiterate. Believe it or not, back in the day, Greek and Hebrew were actually required school courses. That was when people actually cared about learning.
WorshipInTruth 1 year ago
@WorshipInTruth Who said I was incapable of reading the KJV? All I'm saying is that it's difficult for some people (not me) to read the KJV and understand its contents. You can hurl insults at people all you like about being "functionally illiterate," but that fact doesn't change. You seem to think that the Bible should be read and understood by an elite class of people who can afford a top-flight education, but I think it should be read and understood by everyone.
donignacio2000 1 year ago
@donignacio2000 If somebody is an illiterate then they should be have the Bible read and taught to them trusted individuals. Education can be affordable to all.
WorshipInTruth 1 year ago
@WorshipInTruth The KJV is a product of the 17th Century. Since then, English has evolved. That's not something I made up; it's a stone cold fact. It's not "illiterate" of people to realize that certain words and phrases have become archaic over the course of the last 400 years, and they would rather rely on someone else's modern translation than to take up a PhD-level English education to come up with their own reliable one.
donignacio2000 11 months ago
@donignacio2000 PhD-level education in English?? Are you kidding? It is basic english that any 6th grader should be able to read. And none of the new "bibles" have proven reliable at all, all based on faulty manuscripts and full of errors.
WorshipInTruth 11 months ago
@donignacio2000 Yeah great so im sure Jesus was reading out of a modern translation of Hebrew in his time. Christ and Israel at that time spoke Aramaic, as im sure you know.. The Ecclesiastical Language of that day was ancient Hebrew. Yet today we have to rush out and get everyone's rinky dinky translation cause we dont wanna spend an extra hour a day learning something that a 4th grader can learn in a snap. Everyone wants their "Bible" to read just as bland as a newspaper....
Vikuulin 11 months ago
@Vikuulin If you're going to argue this, then you shouldn't be reading the KJV at all but the original Hebrew translations. If a fourth grader can easily understand the contents of the KJV in its proper context (not true, by the way, on the Planet Earth), then as an adult, you should be able to quickly learn ancient Hebrew and read the manuscripts as "God intended." No, you don't need any sort of formalized training to understand ancient Hebrew; you can learn it on your lunch hour. (Sarcasm.)

Most languages distinguish between you plural and you singular. The English language doesn't. So they had to use thee, thou, thine, ye etc. to convey who the person was talking to. A single person or a group? Thus is still used today, btw.

As you use non-rational logic,
there's no point talking further with you.
Adios.

The Bible says the earth is flat.
And that the sun revolves around the earth.
And that humans are made of dirt.
And that snakes and donkeys talk.
And that animals appeared AFTER man but BEFORE woman.
And you're worrying about which VERSION to believe?
Wow.
Imaginefree69 2 years ago

@filoIII "could it be that Gen 2 was creation w/in the garden of eden to show Adam? "
Only if you want to claim that the beasts
and birds and the woman were created twice.
And only if you want to change the reason given in the text.

Yeah don't take away from the book of Revelation like it says, Not the whole bible, which wasn't a completed book when this scripture was written.

KJV ALL DAY

I'm comfortable with either.
