Thanks for noticing. =) The effect close to the middle is a Korg Octave Pedal. It's designed for keyboards, but I really like the way it sounds. It generates a duplicate sound one octave below what you're already playing. Not good for chords but great for single notes.

Yeah, it was done on a crappy tie-pin mic piped straight into my soundcard. Next recordings (coming up) will be done on my newer setup with a Shure SM-57 plugged into a professional mixing board, plugged into my soundcard. I'll probably re-record this one as well.

Actually, sorry about that, I'm not left-handed. I totally forgot my webcam was in mirror mode when I recorded that and my other vids (all recorded the same week). I write left-handed, though, so 'fellow left-hander' isn't an entirely inaccurate statement. :)
