His vocals have more feeling and emotion behind it than any other Metal Singer, specially for the Death Metal Black Metal style of singing.

Not that you need to know what the lyrics are about to convey the feelings portrayed by this singer. The theme of their lyrics are mainly about isolation, suicide, despair, death, war

I get shivers listening to him...not all Bethlehem albums use him as singer however, so maybe you can enjoy other Bethlehem albums. However this singer is often liked most

Its not really about the way of singing its more about the lyrical themes and emotions behind it, and to tell you the truth, I think you are limited in you appreciation of styles, you are one of those people that think they are extreme because you like heavy music and extreme brutality, but honestly, there is more to life than trying to shock/impress someone, or try to be something you are not. @Fjelll I'm not trying to impress ppl w/ my tastes, I just happen to dislike this one vocalist. & no, I'd say that I'm not limited in my appreciation of music b/c of the fact that I don't enjoy the work of one artist. I have tastes that conflict with popular opinion sometimes. An example of this is my disdain for NIN. I don't dislike NIN because I think it's somehow "cool" to dislike them: I dislike NIN because I believe that the music that they make is incoherent, aimless, & subpar at best.

I completely agree...I don't speak German to know this guy is in fucken pain and agony, and when you read the English lyrics or hear the music with the intended official video footage, I get goose bumps, I completely lose myself in my own thoughts and contrary to most critics do not contemplate suicide when I listen to it.

Bethlehem is above average and not easily imitated like most other bands are. There are many cannibal corpse bands but only one Bethlehem.

Both Jonathan Thery and Kvarforth sing for Bethlehem now with Herr Morbid providing guitars. This band is a who's who of underground metal, with all the members that have been through it's ranks. If you think Landfermann's vocals are impressive, check out his bass playing in Pavor.

I agree, Landfermann is sick. Although I think that Andreas Classen is often underrated! Has anyone heard about Jonathan Thery of Ataraxie being the new vocalist? Is this true? I can definitely imagine his grunt/scream style matching Bethlehem, but it's strange that a Frenchman would be singing in German.

Yes, Jonathan is the new vocalist of Bethlehem. Rumour is also circulating that Niklas (Shining) is a new vocalist as well, but this has neither been confirmed nor dismissed. also, Worship had a french singer as well...
