  • when i met her i should've asked her how it felt to meet kermit D:

  • OMG, I love Joan Baez

  • Love The Band's orig version, but Joan does such a great job. I remember seeing this on the Muppet Show as a kid. GREAT CLIP!

  • Da läuft irgendetwas asynchron.

  • Nice performance...shows a lighter side of folk music

  • Was Joan the first one to do this song?

    Does any one know?

  • The Band were the first to record it. It was written by Robbie Robertson or something like that.

By the way this is the best version of this song I've heard, shame the rats cut it short.

  • Oh Rats!

  • No. It is an old song. She covered it on her Country Music Album.

  • One of the most successful versions was "Der Tag als Conny Cramer starb" sung by the German singer Juliane Werding.

  • She has a great sense of humor.

  • I love her to death, but I don't like the makeup. a bit much/

  • looooool

    rats are cool

  • I love Joan Baez and the Muppets but I guess I was young when this show came on because I don't remember it...Her voice is beautiful and the Muppets are fun and the two fused in such a great way.

  • Beautiful Joan and her friends

  • "mahatma what?" lol

  • the muppet show was so cool at a point

  • The muppet show was awesome it was the staple of my morning

  • "'Til Stoneman's cavalry came" in her original song she said "til So much cavalry came"

  • the original song, written by robbie robertson of The Band, had the lyric "til stoneman's cavalry came"

  • She sings 'Stonewall's cavalry came', not Robertson's lyric 'Stoneman'.

  • the band didnt write it clown.the songs from a confederate hym.tho its altered over the years.

  • The Night They Drove Old Dixie Down - wikipedia

"clown"? really? a little frustrated with life these days?

  • eh dont be offended...its definatly not a nasty term here in australia.

  • "That's what you get when you take Ghandi from a baby" XDD Lawl. And holy crap Beauregarde can play harmonica, he's a lot cooler now. \m/

  • That was one of Joans funniest moments. She has a great sense of humor.
