I got downhearted last night. I did the first two steps rather well. covered it in masking tape and then in newspaper with wallpaper paste. Then when it came time for the paper mache I had the prepackaged stuff like you do but there wasn't any instructions on how much water to mix in with it. So I had a clumpy really sticky paste after a lot of mixing and adding water. After drying the water was absorbed into the newspaper as well and it came off the tape. ><;
Thanks for the wonderful videos you've put up. I've been making some interesting things with this technique. Like many though, I'm curious about the papier mache you're using. I'm using Amaco brand, which comes out lumpy after mixing and can't be smoothed down except with a lot of sanding after it dries. I'm guessing they use a different glue powder than the brand you use or the paper pulp is not as fine. Could you let us know what brand of papier mache that is?
hi! i really like ur videos and cosplays! but the materials, sometimes is really hard to find in my country ( venezuela, greetings from here! :D ) this time, i found the metylan thing but just the normal yellow box, so, do u think with this yellow one, make the same effect like the spezial purple one u use! thx and keep amazing *-*!
@Mogrymillian Thank you so much for your videos! They are very helpful. Can you make a video on how to make chest armor or breatplate next? Do you use wonderflex for that?
Hi, great tutorial! I used paper mache mix and mine ended up turning to look very bumpy, lumpy and not so smooth. Did you added wallpaper paste in your's to make it smooth? Help please! :D
Well, my paper mache is a mix of paper mache, wallpaper paste and water. After you applied the paper mache, put your fingers into some water and smooth the surface. That's what I always do and I also explained it in the video.
@HAFcompuild that was paper mache, it's in powder form, comes already mixed with a powder glue in it, so you only add water to make it paste like and then use it for coating
@Mogrymillian no, after you applied the paper mache, you squeezed this stuff out of a plastic bag and coated the paper mache with it, and then heated with a heat gun before sanding... i want to know what was in that bag.

Thank you for the videos.

Turns out I just needed to be more thorough with my mixing. Kneading it for 10 minutes or so reduced the lumpyness and made it easier to smooth out.

Amazing tutorial video. I was wondering with your paper mache mix what is your ratio of paper mache, wallpaper paste and water? Thank you!

super video und ich liebe deine Cosplays ♥
Hab da mal ein paar Fragen:
Kann ich die letzte schicht aus dieser packung papiermachè machen?
Wie teuer ist so eine Packung papiermachè und für wie viel reicht das?
SWET99 1 year ago
@SWET99
Dankeschön! :)
Ja, das mache ich ja. Die letzte Schicht ist immer Pappmasché. Eine Packung kostet ca. 2,50 Euro und hat 200 g Inhalt.
