I am NOT SELLING anything, I just want to share the process that freed me of anxiety. Please watch my intro. video for more info! Stay positive!
it fucking makes since now...i never understood why i was so different. I had to quit sports in highschool because I couldn't stand the thought of failing at them and being seen by everyone, i worry and anticipate on just about everything in my everyday life. It's so damn annoying.
All what this Dr says are lies , Ive been taking all kinds of drugs to treat my Social Phobia during 15 years and nothing has helped me to an acceptable level . I eat well and I do excersice during my whole life and I really dont feel any change. Its hard to say for me that drugs cant give me back my life . Maybe I would never have a life again
I was prescribed Alzam, an addictive medication which helped, but I wasn't going to take the chance to become addicted to a pill. On a forum someone suggested I use 5HTP [pure and completely natural serotonin]. I took a daily dose of 100mg for about 2 weeks and all the anxiety was gone. Now when I become anxious, I take 5HTP for a few days and it's over! Within 20 minutes after you take it you can feel your mood lifting. It is truly a Godsend! Even small children can use it in lower dosage.
@EgoNamahaNemoRex im the same man 6 long years i cant get off them i always said its worse than been addicted to heroin and doctors just laugh as they write out another perscription..
See a good therapist. STAY AWAY from the benzodiazapines. Extraordinarily addictive, and they can take months (sometimes years) to wean from. I'm a therapist, been through addiction, and specialize in treating both addiction and anxiety. Get sincere help.
@opptynox List what all out? I was addressing the all too real "elephant in the room", which the selfserving medical community (or in his case, a psychologist - only a Ph.d), absolutlely will not address. That is the fact that almost anyone prescribed "benzodiazepines" long-term (med. to high doses), will almost always experience significant neurological disruptiveness, and often double the anxiety when the benzos are abruptly curtailed. Listen to the poster "opptynox", a therapist who knows!
@opptynox I really wish there were more therapists as yourself. I was abruptly removed from benzos after 7 years/high dose. Nearly six months later, it's still hell. The neuro symptoms (muscular twitches, vertigo, racing thoughts, tactile hypersensitivity, and ongoing insomnia), are brutal, and there really appears to be no end in sight. If the symptoms don't let up within a few months, I'll seek medical help elsewhere, as without, I could win lotto, but remain a "feral cat on crack in traffic!"
Heroine & frontal lobotomies are also helpful, but Heroine is illegal, and lobotomies aren't nearly as profitable as psychotropic medications are for the major pharmaceutical companies. Don't think twice, but three times before starting on prescribed anti-anxiety medications with any regularity. The wise doctors are only now becoming familiar with the withdrawal consequences of Benzodiazepines (Xanax, Klonopin, Ativan.) Do your research! Search Benzodiazepine Withdrawal Syndrome ANYWHERE!
I suffered from GAD for years and had successfully taken Ativan (Lorazepam), daily for 7 years. WHAT THIS IDIOT DOESN'T TELL YOU, is that you could win lotto, be entirely stress free, but develope PRN (Padded Room Necessary, disease), by discontinuing these benzos, as Xanax, Klonopin, & Valium. Having gone through this horrible withdrawal ordeal (twice as bad as the stress before, I recommend you TAKE THEM FOREVER!!! Pray Big Pharma never stops making them, & NEVER get stuck without them! JERK!
None of you have to live with this anymore. I used to be a victim of this and I know the frustration, embarrassment and fear that is involved. Please go to my site. You dont need to buy anything, I promise you its already been paid for fuentesevangelism-.-c-o-m-
I don't know about medication.. I used to suffer from GAD, but I never wanted to let my 'mood' depend on a pill. I think meds are a weak way out.. Tame your thoughts, rationalize your thoughts and take back control over yourself, your mind. It sure as hell worked for me, I took back control.
CBT is great... it really can do a lot. Just be committed to it, committed to getting well. It's not always easy, and it takes time. If you decide to try it, be good to yourself and give it time. It takes effort, but it can definitely be worth it.
Take a neuroscience course. Anxiety disorders are biochemical in nature. Yes, in some cases, therapy and reducing stress can fix the underlying biochemical problem (too little seratonin most likely), however in many cases medication needs to be added to either jump start treatment or treat "residual" symptoms. In addition, some people are so predisposed to anxiety disorders that relatively minor stressors can cause anxiety disorders.
Any of you who say this is wrong, that I should be still living in my freaking pajamas & stuck within the four walls of my home... I say to you... DROP DEAD.
@iamblackthorne Or perhaps you just haven't done a lot of research. CBT has effectively helped a lot of people with GAD, and they have long term remission, actually around 50%, a great statistic, which is why many people say not to so casually push drugs. Of course if this doesn't work this SSRIs and SNRIs may be used as a first line with the help of Busparine or Benzos. Because of the high likely hood of Gad to be co-morbid (90%) it's very hard to treat, and diagnosis.
The people I was addressing were the ones that felt medication is bad, regardless of the circumstances, and claiming that anxiety disorders are simply a fairy tale.
I do engage in CBT. It has been very effective, but it is not enough for the anxiety.
Tthere is one fact that I did leave out. I also have PTSD; it is severe and chronic. It will probably never go away, but through CBT I have a tight rein on it.
Some made the symptoms worse. Then, after trying & trying, I found one that let me feel "normal" feelings & be able to LIVE. Guess what? I can go to the grocery store now. I can get up in the morning & look forward to the day. This stuff does not make me druggy... it does not stop sadness when something goes wrong, it does not keep me from being angry when insulted, it does not keep me from feeling "regular" emotions.
yeah. before I was taking meds I was so emotionally numb and disconnected (a common symptoms of depression). Antidepressants actually reverse this. Also SSRIs make me feel even more sedated and make my depression worse.
It was a constant battle to fight the anxiety that had me vomiting, getting diarrhea, severe headaches & chest pains every time I had to go to the grocery store or answer the door. You know, the stuff you "normal" people get to do every day without thinking about it. I didn't want to take medicine. But when it got to the point that I was contemplating suicide (& I had never, ever been suicidal until that time) I finally broke down & got medicine. Some of the drugs I had to try made me numb..
I think the people who are spouting about the ineffectiveness of drugs don't know anything. I don't like the pharmaceutical companies... I think they are money-grubbing pigs. I don't like doctors who order medicine for every little thing. I avoided medication for years... I went through advanced depth therapy for years. I tried various methods to get it under control. I changed my life so that there was less stress. With my best efforts, it did get better. But, it was not good enough.
anxiety doesnt have to have an underlying cause, anxiety can be part of one's personality genetically. why do you think some are more outgoing than others? drugs dont cure anything, but they do a damn good job at masking it
My dr. prescribed me zoloft for my anxiety but when I read the side effects and heard from my aunt she gain alot of weight with that I decided never to take it.
I tried to get help, and they tried to put me on anti-depressents. I am not fucking depressed, I have god damn anxiety all the time and it makes me yell and have outburts! I constinatly worry about everything that I have to bitch about it.
ive had open heart surgery about 6 times, and ive had Morphine, midazolam, valium, codiene concentrate, tramadol (300mg),temazpam,xanax,oxycontin,and several other Opiods, and Hypnotics, but by far Midazolam was the best experince,i was full on hallousanating (audio & visauls) haha, good fun well it lasted.

Benzodiazepines are so extremely dangerous. I've been addicted to them for 6 years.
Never start them; they are harder to withdraw from than heroin, you can die from benzo withdrawal.
