Despite a design and development period of just 3 months, the F1 GTR swept all before it, winning not only the 1995 GT1 Championship, but also the 24 Heures du Mans. 31st March 1998 that the howling V12 propelled him to an amazing 240.1mph. Over 12 years later, this remains a world record for a naturally aspirated production car.

And the 0-60, 0-125, and 1/4mile times I'm unsure of. I believe they're a tiny bit faster than that, those are just what I remember.

Heard of the more recent Veyron SS? 1,186hp, 50kg lighter. 0-60: 2.3 seconds. 0-125: about 7 seconds. Top speed: 267.91mph. 1/4 mile: 9.8 seconds.

And I'm sure the Veyron has a lot more potential, somebody just needs to beat it again for Bugatti to unleash more of it.

it said 391 km/h not 399 =p and besides its nicer to sit in the veryron and much safer. this doesnt have traction control, stability control, airbag, heck it doesnt even have abs. im not a big fan of the f1 but i have to say its a engineering miracle and it does sound realy, realy good =)

dude they may have made the mclaren 13 years ago but the veyron is still faster. speed is speed and not to mention why isn't the mclaren going faster now after 13 years?

because when the F1 was built, BMW was the powerplant, and now its Mercedes. My only thing about the veyron is that yes its the fastest, BUT, it takes a W16 quad turbo to do it, you look at the engineering behind a Konigsegg CCX which is a V8 (half size) and supercharged and is only 13mph? (i think this is correct) slower than the Veyron. I honestly would expect the Veyron to push out bigger KM/H times than it did for the daunting size and technology that was put into that engine. my $0.02 :)

The veyron is an amazing car, but i don't think it compares to the mclaren F1, especially since the F1 was made 13 years ago...

Yes the veyron does go 407, not only that, it will out accelerate the F1 but quite a big margin too

The Macca is quicker than the Veyron in a race from 300->370km/h.. check out both record runs, the F1 does it in about 19sec, Veyron some 3sec slower!!

F1 might be slower than veyron but if u look at the other way, veryone at top speed could finish its tank in 12 minute, who wanna drive a car when u hav to top up every 12 minute and so, ridiculous
